  • i still can't believe the alimony was $100,000/year.. a shame prenup wasn't common back then

  • LOL I Love Paul Shaffer. Just bought his book.

  • Carson is just a classy guy

  • Letterman's geniune love for Carson puts a smile on my face

  • "You're the second person in the last six weeks who's asked me to let them use that..."

    *Dave leans foward*

    "Chevy Chase called..."

    *Dave "panics"*

    CLASSIC!

  • Letterman never seems more sincere than when he's talking about Johnny Carson. The reverence there is genuine. RIP the King of Late Night.

  • Amen, Dave truly loved Johnny, and Johnny really wanted Dave to have his seat on the Tonight Show...

But you know, these things have a funny way of working out...

After 9/11 Dave gave that GREAT speech to open his show, and his still still opens with the phrase "Live, from New York, the GREATEST City in the World..."

Johnny Carson and David Letterman- the King of Late Night and his fun-as-hell follow up... add Craig Ferguson to that lineage now, and we've got something special!

    DAVE!

  • R.I.P. Johnny, you are dearly missed.

  • guys what Leetermen ask for blessing . My ENGLISH BAD SO i MISS THE WORD

  • @yavuzyolcu He wants to be able to use one of Johnny Carson's old comedy bits called "Stump the Band." In order to do so, he must have Johnny Carson's blessing.

  • ask the band to play a song that they may not know how to play. If they can't play it, you win.

  • What is stump the band?

  • Letterman: "How are things going out there in California"?

Carson: "Pretty good. The mudslides are putting out the fires".

    Freekin' classic!

  • I agree, what an excellent off the cuff line-- Johnny was such a pro, I miss him so much. Im 50 and grew up with him, he was always there at the end of the night. How many millions ended their day with him for 30 years. I remember when he was in new york I was just a kid - Its hard to explain, he was one of Americas rubber stamps, baseball apple pie Chevrolet and Johnny Carson-- I like Leno but you just cant replace Johnny, he was the king of late nite and a true legend with rare class.

  • wow paul shaffers hair is pretty sweet ;d lol

  • Curly hair on Letterman, will never understand that.

  • "Chevy Chase called...."

    *drops phone*

    LMAO.

  • He still had it! that was great.

  • Dude I love you for uploading all these. Do you have the night that Conan had Letterman on?
