Just a detail: in the end of the solo, Larry Carlton bends the note and them makes a hamer on with the right hand in the end of the scale (I just dont remember which fret is, sorry). but the rest is perfect!!!!
Just wanted to say WOW! And Thank You!! I learned this amazing solo by watching you figure it out. Saved me alot of work. You truly are a Steely Dan fan and it shows! Thanks again!!
@vindicator14 Stellar work. Carlton's playing shined on this cut. But when did Dan ever have a weak player?. Skunk, Dias, Derringer, Becker, Parks, Graydon. And whoever else I left out.
that is such a legitimate piece of guitar. the rhythm guitar is also freakin genius. has anyone tabbed it? maybe with some of carlton's signature touches?
Wow! Most excellent guitar work. You got it down pat. Now start inventing your own riffs. For that you may need some collaborators. I hope you find some as good as you or better.
Superb/Excellent job! You're spot on with the articulation and vibrato. So many Steely Dan guitar solos are masterpieces all by themselves. The only comment I'd make is that the last high note in the solo (I believe) is a fretboard tap.
very smoothly played

Great vibrato ... most players do a very jerky vibrato.... yours is very slow and fluid. Nice

Youre sick man! Absolutely nailed it. I hope you are playing with somebody. You should be a session player.

Why is this solo so celebrated? When I here the solo from Peg I here real genius. I love Larry, but this solo is as stale as it gets.
bobthwart 3 years ago
Are you serious? The day you come up with something as awesome as this you will be celebrated too.
Great version of this solo vindicator14. Very slick.
