It is an airsoft gun, made by Tanaka Works of Tokyo.
See our later films for video of it shooting heavier pellets to over 80 yards. The beauty of this airsoft gun, over my old sharp pellet gun, is that I can shoot it at friends :)
@phantomTMA Appreciate that! I wanted to ask you about a few things preferably not on the comments here, could we email or just add as a friend for a bit? I am not going to post my email here.
The best place to ask questions is the 6mm Hunters forum. If you look on our channel, you will see a link to a website and the forum is linked from there.
I get the same question over and over for the past few years now and I would rather write where it is longer lasting than a mail. That way newcomers can simply look up all the answers and questions for reference. My time is very limited these days.
I have a Tanaka AICS, will probably get the king arms hop system so i can use vsr hop bucking... No idea where I would get a good tight bore to fit it then though... Do you think that would be good --> PDI 01 6.01mm Precision Barrel (10mm Outer Dia.) for Marui VSR-10 LONG (554mm) (ehobbyasia)
Oh and intersted in the cold shot system thingy, but where on earth did you get it? googling it gives no results :( Thanks
Sorry but I cannot tell you, as it rarely gets that cold here. If you have the gun just test it yourself by putting gas outside for several hours and then filling it in the house and firing consecutive shots. Count them and see how many you get? Look for a drop in power, if you have a chronograph. My advice is that you need to invest in a cheap spring rifle for deep winter play (JG BAR10).
I Have Rigged My Own Kjw M700 Police model With a Kobalt brand nail gun Co2 regulator using paintball tanks and nail gun QD fittings for the rifle in going to install a 650mm Psg1 barrel for increased accuracy and have mad a larger nub for the hopup fo improve accuracy im going to make a video soon i use just some tsd .28g for now im goint to but some .40s
What brand and or weight would you recommend for a gun that shoots around 500 fps? I've heard good things about the madbull .40s, but they apparently leave something on the hopup rubber.
I suggest the new lines of 0.40g in tan are great BB's if you want to open up your range. However, the SGM 0.29g Maruzen is still more accurate IMO (as long as there is no wind). I use Madbull at the moment but would consider the BLASTER DEVIL 0.40g as they have been tested as better quality compared. May just be a different batch from the same mould tbh. I have not seen bad residue so far and fired around 1000.
You may need to mod your hop to give enough spin for 0.40g
It's the idea of energy, and stored energy, and the use of energy.
When something is fired from a firearm, it has potential energy that is stored, and the heavier the projectile means the slower the velocity. The slower the velocity means that there is less energy being burned per foot, the way I figure it is, *HYPOTHETICAL EQUATION*
Distance increases because the the projectile is burning less of it's energy due to it's slower speed.
You can get a DIY kit from MagnumBB that includes the correct drill bit and parts. You drill and tap (make a thread) into the base of your gas magazine. Then a QD fitting screws in there to allow the use of the external line. You cannot use green gas in your mag unless you fit a plug instead. I currently have 1 mag for co2 and 2 others for green gas.
it would, but if you get yours made custom, like we do because we are always in freezing weather, can make in almost immune to cold. it costs a ton though
Hey Phantom, first let me congratulate you for having a very cool selections of videos about sniper riffles.
I would like to ask you a questions, from a professional like you who have a vast experience with sniper riffles. I have a $3,000 bucks to spare and what would be the best sniper riffle + accessories that I can get? Would it be a full customized parts from different vendors?
I cannot say for certain which is the "best" to get. However, I would buy either a fully upgraded VSR10 for simple and reliable spring rifle. Either that or buy something similar to what I have... tanaka works based rifle with hop converted to vsr10 system. To be the best it would have to have HPA which is cumbersome compared to the reliability of a springer. The springer is much harder to cycle the bolt of course. Go on a forum and research it. Good Hunting ;)
Is there a difference between hard and soft rubbers. Especially in the firefly? Will a soft lower the fps or cause horrible accuracy issues? The website i bought the soft firefly rubber (airsoft gi) said it was made for tanaka. Odd huh? anyways, is it a waste of time for the soft firefly? should i buy a nineball (i would have, i just dont know where to find one), or should i stick with the one currently in the mail right now?
how long does it take for the "cold shot" to arrive? I ordered mine over a week ago.
also, i ordered a firefly hop up rubber because i couldnt find a nineball. they didnt have the hard one in stock so i bought the soft one. Is this a problem? I recently heard after i bought it that soft buckings are for low fps guns; which mine is not.
You should try your striker spring if you havent yet. If you put it on and it is less consistant and less accurate, tell me, and i will buy a different spring. The one that came with my LTR wore out and is no longer powerful enough for propane.
Hi phantom, I play airsoft in North Carolina. The temperatures do vary a lot and i own a tanaka m700 LTR as well as a kjw m700, but forget the kjw. I do have the 2roy kit, as well as a 6.02 barrel and a striker spring that i use. I was getting absolutely terrible shots, so i bought this cold shot unit. It should arrive in a few days and i ordered the do it yourself kit also. Do I need something to hold it on my stock, and have you ever turned up the psi to see what your max fps is? thanks. :)
When you say "terrible shots" do you mean accuracy or power inconsistancy? If the shots are deviating left/right then the cold shot unit will not sort such problems out. Yes buy a pouch for your stock (cheap from hong kong). If the 6.02 barrel is a cheap one, it will not help your accuracy. Good Hunting ;)
Well, the supply of gas is inconsistant. i dont have a chrono, but i would say up to 80 fps variance most of the time. What happens is that when the bb hits the rubber a different speeds it reacts differently. Differently enough to throw your shot off. Keep in my a am using a crappy kjw rubber. I dont know were to get a vsr-10 rubber in the US. Do you? Also, will to DIY kit i bought with the cold shot enable me to make the mag have the right plug?
Your rifle should not be that inconsistant. See our film "tanaka 50m" to see it on green gas. I have not fitted the hammer spring as decided I have enough power and consistancy. A stronger spring will also increase wear on the mech/trigger. You need to buy a better hop rubber. The nineball rubber for vsr10 great in this setup. The DIY kit also requires you have a drill (best with a pillar stand) to drill the base plates of the mag. contact MagnumBB for further details. Good Hunting ;)
well, because propane is very inconsistant by itself, it produces diffrent shots each tiime. When a bb goes a t a different speed, the hop up rubber effects it differently, not to mention that i am still using a crappy kjw rubber. I believe if i can see what the pressure is on the psi meter, then i can wait for it to reach the desired psi, and have the accurate shot i want. Is the firefly rubber any good for the cold shot? If so, were in the US can I find it? Thank You
The cold shot recharges very fast (you can hear it) and therefore know when to shoot. With a bolt action, it isn't an issue as your ROF is limited compared to other gas guns. I fitted the firefly VSR10 hard rubber before the 9ball and found the firefly gave terrible results. i think, it is to do with the shape of the hop actuator in the 2roy hop chamber, compared to the VSR10. I was warned before I tried that the firefly is no good in this setup. The 9ball is an airseal rubber. Good Hunting ;)
Yes, but I would not buy the power bolt as you cannot fit the 2roy nozzle on it. Just buy the powerpack. The most important upgrade on a tanaka is the 2roy kit with 9ball rubber and 555mm tight bore of your choice. Good Hunting ;)
No, the hop system is different on a KJW. It can fit the VSR style barrels and hop rubbers without modification (although a new barrel needs a groove cutting around it's exterior). However the different designed hop chamber, is prone to, leaks due to splitting in half.
The KJW is more of a moder's rifle; if you want to achieve consistancy then go the more expensive upgraded tanaka route.
Awesome Vid! I am also interested on buying the Coldshot thing but I am afraid of breaking my magazines if I dont drill correctly...Is it difficult to drill and tap a magazine? And after you have installes the coldshot system, can you fill the drill and taped magazine again with propane or HFC134a?
I got MagnumBB to drill and tap the magazine. You cannot fill it with propane/green/134a once the coldshot is fitted. Although you can buy plugs and screw them in to convert back to conventional gases. I have retained 2 powerpack mags, for green gas, in summer. I do prefere the faster mag change and slimmer/simpler gun (no hose and stock pouch).
i have recently been watching ur vids. excellent. ok i have a few questions. i am from the UK i am just a starter with airsofts/BBs (pistol,rifle,shotgun)etc... so i would like you to tell me.
how u record vids like getting friends involved or smething.
how long do you think i should wait to get my first bb/airsoft sniper rifle.
what should i practice on and what can i hunt?
one more. what do hunters do with reptiles that they hunt and why do they do it?
You've got your wires crossed.... we only hunt other players. You cannot shoot animals/birds with airsoft guns, they are purely a sporting/target system. We hunt the reptiles, as they are hard to spot in the UK. We only hunt them for photography and leave all animals as we find them.
You will just have to try and find someone who is interested in the great outdoors, stalking and photography. Combine that with camping and you've got a great weekend lined up.
Redwolf (type in m700) in Hong kong. Also FIRESUPPORT in the UK, although they are stupidly priced compared to what I payed for mine (half price). Good Hunting ;)
yes, if you buy a restricted (post ban) non export tanaka, then the 2ROY kit will replace the restricted nozzle with a full bore. This will provide you with full power.
this is how all snipers should be in airsoft, you are a perefect example of a quality sniper. i wanna get the star AI AW .338 and have a hpa rig but i need money and i dont wanna sell my other sniper rifle. if i could recommend something get a pdi 6.01 barrel and use madbull .36-.43g bbs thats what i use in my spring sniper rifle and i can hit a man sized target with .43s w/a sp210 at 300'+ within 4 shots usually 1 shot for range and the other to actually hit the target.
hi phantom TMA your video is always awesome but why don't you upgrade your rifle? my rifle can hit small coke can range 70m far from..as you know sniper rifle needs heavy barrel i have m40a1 that you have and also m700 aics i use heavy barrel on my m700 aics of course i made barrel spacer by myself and you need to use heavier bbs i can even hit 120yrds 40cm x 40cm object
I don't know what you've upgraded..but when you want to have good accuracy. you need to change heavy out-barrel and inner-barrer!However that's not all !!you need to change your magazine parts too
this rifle is gas rifle so most important thing is constant gas quantity!(?) so upgrade your hammer spring which is able to push more than 600psi and change inside magazine parts there are 4 options parts and 2 parts is important i can't explain in words..
I have the hammer spring, but have not bothered to fit it ,as I do not need more power. I already have a different inner barrel. I have 2 mags with GnG powerpack parts and 1 mag with KM impact plates. The parts are listed at the beginning of the film. I don't see why a "heavy" outer barrel will improve accuracy, as this is not a firearm and vibration is already minimal. Your set up is way too powerful for my application and typical engagement distances/terrain.
with single shot rifles you should always use .25g .28g .30g for the most range and accuracy. the bb's you use ( i think it's .40g are the most accurate on the market but they don't have the amount of range and fps that you need
well it depends on the amount of wind force is being put on the bb. if it is a lot of force than you are right, if its a low amount than I am right. (either of us can be right) is my main point
actually no, depending on the velocity that the rifle is shooting at, a .40 gram bb may actually go further than a .30/.29 etc. the reason for this is not actually wind or velocity, it is the amount of energy in joules that the bb has. for example, a rifle around 400 fps w/ a .20 will get the most energy out of a .30 gram bb therefore giving it more range AND accuracy than any other weight of bb IF the correct amount of hop up is applied, and the bbs are of the exact same quality.
0.89g pellets retain too much power and are therefore far more dangerous with the light eye protection that we use here. What is your MED at typical power?
I have an external CO2 rig that can deliver more power than I already need. Power is not the answer to everything. What extra reach you gain, you also lose in Safe Minimum Range. I think you missed out the most important factor for accuracy in a tanaka rifle... fit the 2ROY/PAX/KA hop kit. I think uou already have. Good Hunting ;)
hi i wanted t start airsoft and i would like to get a sniper im not worried to much about price but the closest place to me have a limit of 350 fps what sniper should i buy and where from any info at all will help thanks
I suggest the M14 is a good first gun (as you can learn the ins and outs of Airsoft more easily with a semi auto). If you want a bolt action get the TM VSR10 G-SPEC and consider running it at low power (300ish) due to the fact most people will not hear it. If they cannot hear it, they cannot dodge it and won't detect you if you use good camo techniques. Good Hunting ;)
It is easy enough. You just need to make your own barrel spacers to support the new inner barrel. The endcap included in the 2roy kit doesn't fit the m24 (I think the m24 has different diameter outer barrel). Hope that helps. Good Hunting for 2009.
Hey im thinking about buys a KJW M700 and i am woundering if i should install a Co2 rig. ive done alot of researching and i think gas is the way to go, Dose the co2 rig make ur gun louder? cause i want to be stealthy
See our film "m40a1 stalk and shoot" to see how it does out of the box. With the 2ROY kit fitted, I doubt i would have missed. Hope that helps. Good Hunting ;)
m40a1 or AICS take the 2roy hop kit without modification. LTR, M24 and M700P need a mod to hold the barrel with the kit. I suggest the m40a1, but it is a plastic furniture which is great for practical gaming. If you don't intend to upgrade a tanaka with this kit/barrel/hop, then just buy the KJW and save yourself a packet;) Also watch out for the not so good KJW mags. Buy tanaka ones. Good hunting.
Fitting a new barrel requires slight mod. However, the variation in power is more from the bolt/trigger/mags assembly and this will hinder you at longer ranges (lob shots) as the pellets will sometimes hold up longer or drop away due to being upto 100fps different sometimes!!! Its a great budget choice and introduction to gas rifles but if you want to try to get max range hits, you need a tanaka, in my opinion. The KJW is best suited for sites that favour 50m shots. Good Hunting ;)
I had a KJW. It has the same kind of range and power. However, it is very inconsistant when it comes to shot to shot fps. The Tanaka has far better numbers over a chrono. Although it can shoot as far as a tanaka, it struggles to hit things at the same ranges. A fellow hunter has one and bothered to tune it up and it is still good and a far far cheaper route. However, I would still buy a tanaka and fit the vsr conversion if I wanted the best and had the cash. Good Hunting ;)
The army was testing a laser tag system that went out to like 500 yds and would shock you badly. What you see the military doing occasionally is attaching lasertag box things onto standard rifles and shooting blanks at each other. Every time the soldier pulls the trigger, the blank fires and at the same time it sends out a laser. IT'S advanced laser tag, that would cool.
yes, it is the MILES system and has been in use for many years. Now it is refined and all computer controlled and analysed afterwards. The best trainign without cheaiting (unless you cover up sensors). Good Hunting ;)
I do not like speed ball, i don't see much of a point in it. You used pumps? You really got started off bad, playing speed ball with a pump. Woodsball and scnario ball is what is fun. With tippmann a-5 you can get apex or flatline barrels and shoot out to 250 feet. the two barrel put backspin on the ball like the airsoft hop up system. Spinning paintballs hurt like crap. With a regualtor and a good barrel a paintball gun can be very accurate.
fair cop m8. I still find paintball guns encumbering/bulky. Either way, I would not want to wear a paintball mask for the amount of time our games last (2-5 days). If I had to reinvest in a new system, it would be modern laser tag systems that now achieve huge ranges compared to paintball/Airsoft. In the mean time, we use cameras for some long range cross country hunts. Remember I play HUNTEERING and that can use any system (paintball,Airsoft, laser,or camera) to get the thrill of the hunt. GH;)
I did stock class pro/am for several years back in the day. There was no difference in the accuracy of our guns vs. many upgraded paintball markers. Only the mentality changed. Paintball is limited to 300fps for ALL guns. That limitation is why there is little difference in the roles.
Airsoft is different since we get to vary our fps. Unlike paintball, snipers do get a bit of an advantage in airsoft.
Well i just think that paintball is maybe a little more intense. Don't think i'm saying paintball is better but you may should give it a try. I'm not bringing up the crazy paintball vs airsoft thing so don't take me wrong (: Go to a local field and rent equipment, really cheap and if you don't like it, you didn't lose any money.
I went paintballing once and found the shoddy pumps we used (it was a while ago) offered poor range and accuracy. I was the last guy in the game in a huge speedball. I popped up and shot a guy, the paintball didn't burst and I got splatted. Paintball is fine for speedball but not my style of gaming, if I am honest. The marshal showed me how to cheat (hot gun), as I sat out to save cash. A paintball at 300fps is not going to compete with the flat range/cost of our airsoft rifles. Good Hunting ;)
I really think yal would have more fun with paintball guns, You could by a specialops longbow whick is a paintball sniper rifle, very accurate. Not insuluting airsoft, but i'm just saying you should give it a try. (:
ok good I have been running it around 75-80 psi, with a max range of 70m(lob shots) and 60m torso shots(flat).Look for my mini review on magnumm's thread on arnies. More results there. Thnx again and merry x-mas/ new years to you!
I wanted to ask you where I can buy the MAGNUMBB's "Cold Shot" co2 rig, because after I was totally disappointed by my ARES AMP DSR-1, i want to buy now the latest/best Uprgrades for my M40a1.
It works ok but down at freezing point you will notice considerable cool down from shot to shot. This system could keep going at the same pressure as you saw. Good Hunting ;)
God I love your videos... I wish I had land like that to airsoft on where I live... not to mention other airsofters... I DEFINATLEY want this DVD...Do you have ANY MORE of your old ones??
Oh well Happy Hunting, and MERRY CHRISTMAS in 10 DAYS!!!
see "more info" for details. I'll update them with more chrono data ASAP.
UPDATE : The Stealth DVD is probably going to be released late, due to available time. It is looking really good at this stage and crammed full of good content (at least in our opinion).

Furthermore, there is a point where there is not enough velocity to propel such a heavy object, and it eventually falls out of the sky.
It's not that hard of a theory to grasp.

You should try your striker spring if you havent yet. If you put it on and it is less consistant and less accurate, tell me, and i will buy a different spring. The one that came with my LTR wore out and is no longer powerful enough for propane.
6mmSniper009 3 years ago
I think your problem is that the spring is fine but your impact plates have worn out? Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
Hi phantom, I play airsoft in North Carolina. The temperatures do vary a lot and i own a tanaka m700 LTR as well as a kjw m700, but forget the kjw. I do have the 2roy kit, as well as a 6.02 barrel and a striker spring that i use. I was getting absolutely terrible shots, so i bought this cold shot unit. It should arrive in a few days and i ordered the do it yourself kit also. Do I need something to hold it on my stock, and have you ever turned up the psi to see what your max fps is? thanks. :)
6mmSniper009 3 years ago
When you say "terrible shots" do you mean accuracy or power inconsistancy? If the shots are deviating left/right then the cold shot unit will not sort such problems out. Yes buy a pouch for your stock (cheap from hong kong). If the 6.02 barrel is a cheap one, it will not help your accuracy. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
Well, the supply of gas is inconsistant. i dont have a chrono, but i would say up to 80 fps variance most of the time. What happens is that when the bb hits the rubber a different speeds it reacts differently. Differently enough to throw your shot off. Keep in my a am using a crappy kjw rubber. I dont know were to get a vsr-10 rubber in the US. Do you? Also, will to DIY kit i bought with the cold shot enable me to make the mag have the right plug?
6mmSniper009 3 years ago
Your rifle should not be that inconsistant. See our film "tanaka 50m" to see it on green gas. I have not fitted the hammer spring as decided I have enough power and consistancy. A stronger spring will also increase wear on the mech/trigger. You need to buy a better hop rubber. The nineball rubber for vsr10 great in this setup. The DIY kit also requires you have a drill (best with a pillar stand) to drill the base plates of the mag. contact MagnumBB for further details. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
well, because propane is very inconsistant by itself, it produces diffrent shots each tiime. Thank You
6mmSniper009 3 years ago
The cold shot recharges very fast (you can hear it) and therefore know when to shoot. With a bolt action, it isn't an issue as your ROF is limited compared to other gas guns. I fitted the firefly VSR10 hard rubber before the 9ball and found the firefly gave terrible results. i think, it is to do with the shape of the hop actuator in the 2roy hop chamber, compared to the VSR10. I was warned before I tried that the firefly is no good in this setup. The 9ball is an airseal rubber. Good Hunting ;)

do the G&G Power bolt for M700 and the G&G power pack fit the tanaka M40 ??
Sorry for all the questions D:
BatterySokka 3 years ago
Yes, but I would not buy the power bolt as you cannot fit the 2roy nozzle on it. Just buy the powerpack. The most important upgrade on a tanaka is the 2roy kit with 9ball rubber and 555mm tight bore of your choice. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
Ok thanks for the info.
BatterySokka 3 years ago
Does KA hop up chamber kit M700 AICS/M40/M24
fit the KJW M700 police model???
BatterySokka 3 years ago
No, the hop system is different on a KJW. It can fit the VSR style barrels and hop rubbers without modification (although a new barrel needs a groove cutting around it's exterior). However the different designed hop chamber, is prone to, leaks due to splitting in half.
The KJW is more of a moder's rifle; if you want to achieve consistancy then go the more expensive upgraded tanaka route.
Good Hunting ;)

Awesome Vid! I am also interested on buying the Coldshot thing but I am afraid of breaking my magazines if I dont drill correctly...Is it difficult to drill and tap a magazine? And after you have installes the coldshot system, can you fill the drill and taped magazine again with propane or HFC134a?
isagagenius 3 years ago
I got MagnumBB to drill and tap the magazine. You cannot fill it with propane/green/134a once the coldshot is fitted. Although you can buy plugs and screw them in to convert back to conventional gases. I have retained 2 powerpack mags, for green gas, in summer. I do prefere the faster mag change and slimmer/simpler gun (no hose and stock pouch).
Good Hunting ;)

i have recently been watching ur vids. excellent. ok i have a few questions. i am from the UK i am just a starter with airsofts/BBs (pistol,rifle,shotgun)etc... so i would like you to tell me.
how u record vids like getting friends involved or smething.
how long do you think i should wait to get my first bb/airsoft sniper rifle.
what should i practice on and what can i hunt?
one more. what do hunters do with reptiles that they hunt and why do they do it?
Thanks.
Good luck hunter.
iamroykeane 3 years ago
You've got your wires crossed.... we only hunt other players. You cannot shoot animals/birds with airsoft guns, they are purely a sporting/target system. We hunt the reptiles, as they are hard to spot in the UK. We only hunt them for photography and leave all animals as we find them.
You will just have to try and find someone who is interested in the great outdoors, stalking and photography. Combine that with camping and you've got a great weekend lined up.
Good Luck & Good Hunting ;)

Is the 2roy or the King Arms kit produced anymore cos i cant find em anywhere you know a site where they sell those.
BatterySokka 3 years ago
Redwolf (type in m700) in Hong kong. Also FIRESUPPORT in the UK, although they are stupidly priced compared to what I payed for mine (half price). Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
where did you buy your 2roy kit ?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
A private seller from Arnies Airsoft called 8ZERO8. Or buy the King Arms vsr10 conversion kit (its a rebranded version). Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
just asking cos im getting the tanaka M40 and if i buy the 2roy kit for it does it increase the FPS ?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
yes, if you buy a restricted (post ban) non export tanaka, then the 2ROY kit will replace the restricted nozzle with a full bore. This will provide you with full power.
Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
this is how all snipers should be in airsoft, you are a perefect example of a quality sniper. i wanna get the star AI AW .338 and have a hpa rig but i need money and i dont wanna sell my other sniper rifle. if i could recommend something get a pdi 6.01 barrel and use madbull .36-.43g bbs thats what i use in my spring sniper rifle and i can hit a man sized target with .43s w/a sp210 at 300'+ within 4 shots usually 1 shot for range and the other to actually hit the target.
mikedelta09 3 years ago
hi phantom TMA your video is always awesome but why don't you upgrade your rifle? my rifle can hit small coke can range 70m far from..as you know sniper rifle needs heavy barrel i have m40a1 that you have and also m700 aics i use heavy barrel on my m700 aics of course i made barrel spacer by myself and you need to use heavier bbs i can even hit 120yrds 40cm x 40cm object
SniperdoubleJ 3 years ago
:) So what parts should I fit? What pellets should I use?
Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
I don't know what you've upgraded..but when you want to have good accuracy. you need to change heavy out-barrel and inner-barrer!However that's not all !!you need to change your magazine parts too
this rifle is gas rifle so most important thing is constant gas quantity!(?) so upgrade your hammer spring which is able to push more than 600psi and change inside magazine parts there are 4 options parts and 2 parts is important i can't explain in words..
SniperdoubleJ 3 years ago
I have the hammer spring, but have not bothered to fit it ,as I do not need more power. I already have a different inner barrel. I have 2 mags with GnG powerpack parts and 1 mag with KM impact plates. The parts are listed at the beginning of the film. I don't see why a "heavy" outer barrel will improve accuracy, as this is not a firearm and vibration is already minimal. Your set up is way too powerful for my application and typical engagement distances/terrain.
phantomTMA 3 years ago
with single shot rifles you should always use .25g .28g .30g for the most range and accuracy. the bb's you use ( i think it's .40g are the most accurate on the market but they don't have the amount of range and fps that you need
SteathAirsoftCrew 2 years ago
you are wrong. 0.40g have more range than lighter BB's. They are also more accurate than pretty much anything other than 0.29g SGM.
Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 2 years ago
well it depends on the amount of wind force is being put on the bb. if it is a lot of force than you are right, if its a low amount than I am right. (either of us can be right) is my main point
SteathAirsoftCrew 2 years ago
actually no, depending on the velocity that the rifle is shooting at, a .40 gram bb may actually go further than a .30/.29 etc. the reason for this is not actually wind or velocity, it is the amount of energy in joules that the bb has. for example, a rifle around 400 fps w/ a .20 will get the most energy out of a .30 gram bb therefore giving it more range AND accuracy than any other weight of bb IF the correct amount of hop up is applied, and the bbs are of the exact same quality.
ctres94 2 years ago
I agree with Phantom, .4's are beast through gas sniper's, especialy co2
Covertmaddroxx1 2 years ago
and i use 0.89g pellets and also you need to have long magazine and you can change gas tank inside the magazine which can endure high pressure
SniperdoubleJ 3 years ago
0.89g pellets retain too much power and are therefore far more dangerous with the light eye protection that we use here. What is your MED at typical power?
I have an external CO2 rig that can deliver more power than I already need. Power is not the answer to everything. What extra reach you gain, you also lose in Safe Minimum Range. I think you missed out the most important factor for accuracy in a tanaka rifle... fit the 2ROY/PAX/KA hop kit. I think uou already have. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
do you think the L96 its a good wep ...

hi i wanted t start airsoft and i would like to get a sniper im not worried to much about price but the closest place to me have a limit of 350 fps what sniper should i buy and where from any info at all will help thanks
huntlers1 3 years ago
I suggest the M14 is a good first gun (as you can learn the ins and outs of Airsoft more easily with a semi auto). If you want a bolt action get the TM VSR10 G-SPEC and consider running it at low power (300ish) due to the fact most people will not hear it. If they cannot hear it, they cannot dodge it and won't detect you if you use good camo techniques. Good Hunting ;)

what kind of mod are we talking about if you want to fit the 2roy hop-up kit in a M24? cos i found a Tanaka M24 with the PCS bolt.
BatterySokka 3 years ago
It is easy enough. You just need to make your own barrel spacers to support the new inner barrel. The endcap included in the 2roy kit doesn't fit the m24 (I think the m24 has different diameter outer barrel). Hope that helps. Good Hunting for 2009.

Depends on what power you set the rig up for. At high power it is loud as you can tell on our other video's. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 2 years ago
So is the tanaka m40a1 no good without the 2roy hop up set ?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
See our film "m40a1 stalk and shoot" to see how it does out of the box. With the 2ROY kit fitted, I doubt i would have missed. Hope that helps. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
Thanks for the help. What tanaka rifle you recommend?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
m40a1 or AICS take the 2roy hop kit without modification. Good hunting.
phantomTMA 3 years ago
does it come more consistant if you put a tighter barrel and a new hop rubber ?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
Fitting a new barrel requires slight mod. However, the variation in power is more from the bolt/trigger/mags assembly and this will hinder you at longer ranges (lob shots) as the pellets will sometimes hold up longer or drop away due to being upto 100fps different sometimes!!! Its a great budget choice and introduction to gas rifles but if you want to try to get max range hits, you need a tanaka, in my opinion. The KJW is best suited for sites that favour 50m shots. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
What do you think about the KJW M700P? and whats the range on that? and is there any big problems with it ?
BatterySokka 3 years ago
I had a KJW. It has the same kind of range and power. However, it is very inconsistant when it comes to shot to shot fps. The Tanaka has far better numbers over a chrono. Although it can shoot as far as a tanaka, it struggles to hit things at the same ranges. A fellow hunter has one and bothered to tune it up and it is still good and a far far cheaper route. However, I would still buy a tanaka and fit the vsr conversion if I wanted the best and had the cash. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
The army was testing a laser tag system that went out to like 500 yds and would shock you badly. What you see the military doing occasionally is attaching lasertag box things onto standard rifles and shooting blanks at each other. Every time the soldier pulls the trigger, the blank fires and at the same time it sends out a laser. IT'S advanced laser tag, that would cool.
supersniper70 3 years ago
yes, it is the MILES system and has been in use for many years. Now it is refined and all computer controlled and analysed afterwards. The best trainign without cheaiting (unless you cover up sensors). Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
I do not like speed ball, i don't see much of a point in it. You used pumps? You really got started off bad, playing speed ball with a pump. Woodsball and scnario ball is what is fun. With tippmann a-5 you can get apex or flatline barrels and shoot out to 250 feet. the two barrel put backspin on the ball like the airsoft hop up system. Spinning paintballs hurt like crap. With a regualtor and a good barrel a paintball gun can be very accurate.
supersniper70 3 years ago
fair cop m8. GH;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
I did stock class pro/am for several years back in the day. There was no difference in the accuracy of our guns vs. many upgraded paintball markers. Only the mentality changed. Paintball is limited to 300fps for ALL guns. That limitation is why there is little difference in the roles.
Airsoft is different since we get to vary our fps. Unlike paintball, snipers do get a bit of an advantage in airsoft.
brainplay 3 years ago
Well i just think that paintball is maybe a little more intense. Don't think i'm saying paintball is better but you may should give it a try. I'm not bringing up the crazy paintball vs airsoft thing so don't take me wrong (: Go to a local field and rent equipment, really cheap and if you don't like it, you didn't lose any money.
supersniper70 3 years ago
I went paintballing once and found the shoddy pumps we used (it was a while ago) offered poor range and accuracy. I was the last guy in the game in a huge speedball. I popped up and shot a guy, the paintball didn't burst and I got splatted. Paintball is fine for speedball but not my style of gaming, if I am honest. The marshal showed me how to cheat (hot gun), as I sat out to save cash. A paintball at 300fps is not going to compete with the flat range/cost of our airsoft rifles. Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 3 years ago
I really think yal would have more fun with paintball guns, You could by a specialops longbow whick is a paintball sniper rifle, very accurate. Not insuluting airsoft, but i'm just saying you should give it a try. (:
