My favorite wrestling manager ! He was just as important as Hulk Hogan,Andre,Rowdy,etc. for wrestling in the 80's boom with mainstream public world wide. That era was so special,maybe never will be outshined. A forefather of the Rock -N- Wrestling Connection...Captain Lou is a true legend in his own right. He and Bobby Heenan belong to a higher league as managers. RIP Captain! You are often imitated, and will never be duplicated.

He was stiff with the live action sequences of Mario (in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show), but it was his voice that I think was his best contribution.

He was later replaced by Walker Boone, whom had a similar but "squeekier" voice in 1990, but it wasn't the same.

Danny Wells made Luigi who he is as a character today, with some refinements by Charles Martinet later on.

Danny, too, was replaced in 1990. This was by Tony Rosato.

Albano actually managed and performed with rockers NRBQ. He is now immortalized in the song "Captain Lou" on their Lou and the Q album. Don't let the novelty quality of this particular NRBQ song fool ya if you are among the initiated. NRBQ was a funny band that loved to play goofy stuff but these guys are the best around. Check out, Rocket in my pocket, Everybodys Smokin, Little Floater, Wild Weekend, 12 bar blues, yeah they had one foot in nerdville but the other was pure cool.
