  • i like the guy at the end...good job !

  • Check out the killer training sandbags made by Brute Force Sandbags.

  • thats a huge f-ing sandbag, good job dude. kinda like doing a firemans carry up and down stairs.

  • Makes you appreciate Firemen.

  • holy shit, thats some skill.. I would have probably fallen off the banister by the 2nd set

  • 150 pounds?!?!?!?! WOAW!

  • this guy could probbaly kick the ribs right out of you

  • The difference with this training is that it is not focused on how you look. If you concentrate on this training you WILL develop real-world strength that you can actually do things with, rather than doing pointless isolation exercises and countless repetitions with little or no actual strength gains at all.

    I speak from experience..

  • I am committed to Anthony Bova's Spartan Training Regime with no regrets. The program WILL transform you into a modern-day spartan warrior. It delivers exactly what it promises, to make you a breed apart from everyday man, exceptional.

It doesn't matter how big you LOOK!

  • ...... SO

  • out of curiosity, what advantage does a sandbag have do?

  • sits nicely and comfortably on your back

  • none of these guys look very fit though...

  • just curious, is that joeys?

  • lol thats not even hard.

  • Did something inspired by this video.

    3 rounds of:

    - 4 min stairwalking

    - 2 min running/sprinting

    Wearing bag/west: 25 Kg

It was my first time so I wouldn't destroy myself by lifting too much weight.

  • i walk around with a 150 pound bag all day...in my pants! HEY-YO!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Only you would know whether you have given it your all. for me it was basically when i would be screaming and grunting my head off to get the last few punches out. that was my bottom point. but shit..sometimes i would feel like i have hit the bottom point and trainer would say "come on" and somehow i got more out from inside of me.

  • I personally have purchased the Spartan Helath Regime and have absolutely no regrets about the money i forked out. It's a great publication with lots of infor on training, diet and lifestyle.

I used to do a lot of boxing training, where they would gun me till i couldn't move. I never puked though. that happens when u r unfit.

  • i thought he was going to cry at the end!!

  • OK this is just retarded.

  • Spartan training my hairy arse. However, at a certain point its genetics. I played first grade at the same school as the kid in this video. At the same age I was 6ft 3 inches and weighed in at close to 20 stone. A 100lb sack would have been, well pretty incidental to me. And yeah we trained at least as hard as that. I liked it at the time, but 20 years later Im suffering permanent damage to my knees, shoulders, back and neck. I still wouldn't change it though

  • he didn't give his all

when you do it to exhaustion- you cannot swear or walk another step

    plus you puke up

    - that is the difference between a champion and a wannabe

  • if it appears that i am being harsh- i am not - and i have no apologies

when you do something attributing the name SPARTAN to it then expect judgement that the spartans would've made

they would've said- not good enough, you didnt faint & puke up- go again.

  • that's not exactly right.. not all people are the same...everyone do not faint OR puke even if they gave it their all...and i've never heard of puking after getting tired...well if u just ate then yea...u don't have to faint or puke to know that u gave it ur all...

  • No, a wannabe would be your stuid ass.

  • says the sword-fighting cartoon & star wars reenactment watching (wannabe) adult

think that says it all about you

....another want to be, never will be

  • mad props for doing that, how many stories was each set, i didn't catch it

  • I only do such things whenever I get paid for, otherwise it's stupid and ridiculous...

  • spartans were technically the equivalent of special forces and im sure even special forces would break a sweat doing what you did.

  • no they wouldnt- they can carry 100lbs for 50-60 miles over mountain terrain

    watch the NZSAS vid

  • your right. the spartans were left to survive on there own in the woods at the age of 7. training for war all there life. special forces like the sas are required to a 60km uphill march in 20 hours with full gear in extreme cold weather conditions then ammediately afterwoods have to evade hunting parties in open terrain for a minimum of a day without food or sleep. hes on his way though i'll give him that.

  • Dude, you cant become that good at rugby just by bulking up abit!

Ive been playing rugby my whoel life as a flanker, and im not half as big as the guys i put down!

    and hes a hooker /;

he doesnt even have to push in scrums :L

Bulk him up, stick him on the wing and watch him run through his tiny opposite player! thats how its done!

  • damn that would suck if he feel down the stairs or if he like triped on his way up and the bag smashd his head

  • man i get money for doing thinks like this

or i help my dad in the garden

here in germany we call this ..WORK.. lo0l but it look verry hard 5/5*

  • could u say what bag is? military? where did u get?

  • 1. so is that an entire work out session?

    2. how do i make that bag? including what is it made out of?

    3. how many stairs one-way are you going up or down?

  • got breath at the end to talk and swear it wasnt hard enough, try tabbing with that for twelve mile.

  • watch your language nick and keep smileing

  • You guys are fuckin kidding yourselves.. "Creator" - cheap almost rip off is more acurate here...

  • A little too much intro footage- but it looked like a brurtal workout... well done!

  • Ignorance, at least they have muscles that works, instead of huge ones.

  • if they do that every day, Id bet they some miserable pricks...

  • "Don't waste your leg strength"

    "Fuck YOU!"

    lol

  • Stair training as it is being shown is tough training. Glad to see the "old ways" are still around.

  • that rugby team look weak

  • I do that, only with a rucksack and rocks. Awesome work out either way.

  • lol wat a unit!

  • Heart!

  • why you playing rugby in trousers??seems kinda dumb

  • What is difference betwen Blake Adams Spartan Workout and this workout?

  • id be unhappy if i was playing in a 5th grade side aswell...

  • Lol! That's awesome!

  • looks real intense, i'd love to try it.

Personally i like to do hill sprints with a weighted vest on. Sprint up a hill as fast you can, slowly jog back down and repeat about 12 times.

I add a pound to the vest ecah week.

Don't do it more than once a week because it's seriously intense.

Strength, power fitness lung capacity it gives you it all.

  • hills could be renamed to "hells" :D yes its really intense!

  • dummy, thats the most effective way that gives u the most results with the smallest side effects, US ARMY uses it!

  • good job stickman

  • I can't imagine this can be very good on your back...Looks intense though. How on earth to you balance taht bag on your back for all those reps without it slipping or something though?

  • thats the whole point of intense work out, to keep under the presure the most muscles

  • Personaly I do pilates and yoga to get my abs and tone. Weightlifting to build muscle for my upper body. And running to keep my endurance, speed and thinness.

But I hear this builds you pretty fucking huge because the sand swifts unlike weightlifting and takes a lot more stability.

  • no you get your abs and tone by having low body fat.

and i think you mean the sand shifts.

  • Uh, if you do freeweight exercises, as in not using machines but bars and dumbbells, you use the same stabilizer muscles just as much. Just do squats instead of leg presses, and do them free weight, no smith machines! Really helps your balance, you become much more stable.

  • there are 1000000000000000000000000000 exercises better than that

  • was that nigga about to cry ?

  • i guarentee u couldnt do it so shut up

  • 6'5" 230 you still think so ? But i wont trying to dis the man i jus commented im proud of the MAN

  • nice work dude

thought you coulda pushed out another set but it helps when you got a guy screaming and cussing at you

  • "don't waste your leg strength!"

    "FUCK YOU!" hahahaha.

  • HAHAHAHAHHA!!

  • I like your style kiddo.

  • For those of you who are bashing this kid, he's doing his best, thats what counts. He may not be at your level but its his best which means he's giving 110%, more than you ever will. Way to go.

  • I love this! and no fucking pizza for you mate what the fuck you want to be eating that shit lol good stuff

  • really hard to believe that bag is 150 pounds!!! but good work out!

  • IT's that the best you got?

  • I agree. Check out that little girl picking up flowers in the countryside. THAT'S hardcore compared to this.

Firemen have RACES with a similar exercise, although for more distance and a bit less weight. I recall a stair race in London last summer, three floors, 40k on their backs. Running up!

  • Okay you guys who are talking shit obviously havent tried it...that is a lott harder than it looks

  • Putting enormous stress on the muscles in such a SHORT period of time is absolutelly stupid.

  • what do u mean? are u a doctor?

  • No Im not a doctor, I dont think people have to be one to know that. Um... just research on google or go to parkour. net to read some topics about graduall build up of muscle stress.

    :)

  • anything new that is introduced to much over a short amount of time to the body

    will have side effects

  • what do you think weight lifting is

  • I wasn't clear, what I meant was this, since the guy wasn't used to doing Spartan-like training (assuming this from the video) it was dangerous for his body to experience so much stres in the short amount of time that he did the Spartan training program.

However you are right in your point about weight lifting, but weight lifters train this so their body is used to the stress therefore it is not dangerous for the body.

    Peace

    :)

  • since he didnt pass out, i doubt it was dangerous; but if he tripped and fell, that would be a much more grim situation

  • Sometimes the less obvious is more dangerous.

  • him not passing out has nothing to do with it... have you ever heard of over training? symptoms are the dullest things that you might never pick up on but you could still be doing a load of damage to your body

  • cortisol, who cares, overrtaining is about duration and frequency, not intensity. but nice try

  • That's bullsh*t, isn't it.

Roman soldiers would march for hours with 50+ pounds of weight and then might have to fight for a few hours, set up camp, and eat.

I doubt they had any hormonal imbalances.

Overtraining is myth by the fitness industry. Yes, if you do lots of exercise and your body isn't used to it you are going to have to recover.

With regards to harm, the point of training IS to harm your body. Breaking muscle tissue is the only way the body is going to build better tissue.

  • I cant agree more!

  • uh, a lot of militaries do 12 and 20 mile "humps" or marches w/ 50-75lbs of gear...

this video was pointless. decent workout, but why post it again?

  • Uh, over training by the definition I'm used to is doing intense training for over one hour a day. This causes too much muscle cannibalization, as in your body then starts using the muscle for energy instead of cabs or sugar. Marching with 80 lbs. on your back isn't really "intense" to me, so marching for 10 miles with 80 lbs. on your back wouldn't really be over training. However, it would remove muscle mass, and just make you more toned. Generally good for fighting/sports IIRC....

  • Jack LaLanne, the Godfather of Fitness is 93 yo and still works out two hours every single morning of his life. He says you can't over train. That the body will always get stronger the more you push it. Just make sure to change the routine every 30 days.

  • I know a few people with horrific back and knee problems who would disagree.

  • I know a few people with horrific spelling and grammar who would flame you..

    JK ^^

I agree except for healthy people (the ones without the problems ~.~) Jibbies comment still goes.

  • lalanne is hardly a legitimate authority on sports science.

  • I thought with the number of views this would be good, what an absoulet crock of shit

Rugby team my ass, they look like endurance athletes ie marathon runners

if you entered that team in the U.K S.A OR N.Z they'd end up in hospital

As for the session its lame bro

this you tube site attracts some real GIMPS

    :-)

    AJ CSCS

  • Ha ha ha. Running up and down stairs with weight on your shoulders is great. But if you need to pay some mutha to tell you it's great then you're crazy. After the build up I thought we were going to see something exciting.

  • weak! try carrying a pole over your shoulders with giant buckets of water... down a mountain... barefoot... to an old, white bearded master who slaps you with his chopsticks each time and tells you to repeat because you spilled too much!

  • LOL to this...

  • the guy is a fag...

5th grade to 2nd grade in a few weeks... bollocks!

Unless... there was a lot of injuries and he managed to get in the team. That said, is tackling like a girl, ran about the pitch like a giraffe on ice skates and couldn't thrown the ball in straight.

  • lol its funny at the end when the guy says " dont waste your leg strength " and the guy carrying the bag says " fuck you " hahahahaha

  • might try that out

  • This is great! Anyone can help me find more intensity training videos like this? I'm putting together a reel of links for students I'm working with, motivating them to change their perception of what it means to work through pain. (btw, I remember doing this kind of work in wrestling... and throwing up after the first set)

  • knoxjt. check out some crossfit videos and the crossfit website.

  • You can find some good stuff made by a member BlakeAdams he has some good stuff

  • Yeah, she wouldn't wanna be kissed with that mouth.

  • I hope his mother wasnt watching with those kind of swear words lol

  • Good strength endurance work. What was the duration of the exercise?

  • huuyaahhhhhhhhh!!!! what a fuckin workout!

  • This exercise is only for experienced athletes. This is also a very intense and u need a very strong back, lower torso and legs for this. anybody who says this wont do anything cant do it in the 1st place.

  • those knees hurt huh... it shouldn't you still young.

  • WOW! Im a runner and I consider myself to have pretty strong legs considering that I run around 30 miles a week. But that stairs of hercules shit would probably kill me!

  • a waste of time...what is the main goal actually?

  • i feel sory for his spain

  • Biggest load of wank I've ever seen!

  • The first 2 minutes and 30 seconds are a waste of time and the rest of the video isn't much better. A guy carries a 150lb bag up some stairs several times, gets tired, drops the bag and says fuck. Don't waste your time watching this!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that reminds of shoop from vision quest with the log and the bleachers

  • dont recommend doing that often, you can seriously screw your back up

  • i think its a good work out, but running for 30 min uphill will get you very similar results, not here to criticize though, your crazy man, hard work out, watch your back though, might just fuk it up b4 your 30yrs old

  • Your posture is going to be wrecked by the time your 30 if you continue to do these hercules walks. Although I will say you have some balls to do that, fair play.

  • Brutal

  • how do you make the 150lb sand bag? what do i need to get hat done?

  • buy a zip bag like this or a big duffle bag and go to the local beach and fill it up with the Lords sand then zip it up and superglue it for extra safety (not necessary)I have a 300lb sand bag now i milarary press it with handles and i run with it. PRAISE GOD 8)

  • What about just do lunges either with bar or dumbbell? Lol...And combine with dumbbell stand-up to the bench? 4x20 and Ill guarantee you that itll promote greater muscle growth than walking stairs with 68 kg. on your back

  • jeez....

  • Nice. Thanks for sharing!

  • dude thats a genius exercise

  • "You got to rest your legs"

    Reply

    "Fuck you"

  • The first section of the video is my school. St Joseph's college, aus. That crazy that i don't even know they do that sh*t.

  • man good job lol u r raging at the camera guy lmao cool though good job

  • Good stuff!

  • ive tried that with 100 lbs bag for 25 reps of one set of stairs(16 steps) MAD HARD!

  • i think each of these sets of stairs was like 8 to 10 steps

  • Good to see the SHR come to youtube. Maybe some of these slobs will buy it. :)

  • Hola Bova,

Greetings from the Boogey Down Bronx. Thanks for your emails and the link to this vid. Very interesting and inspiring.

    God Bless,

    Jeff

  • Reminds me of my Marine (capital "M") days, too. We did the same thing, only we carried each other on our backs up and down the stairs, progressing to where the rider squirms and fights the guy carrying him. The stairs turned into waterfalls of sweat and puke. Ahhh...the good ol' days...

  • Great videos. These past couple of years have been the best.I keep those training manuals locked in a fire safe. The training reminds me of stuff I used to do when I was a marine, only much more intense.I don't see how there can possibly be any more effective way to do it than this.Excellent work, and very much appreciated.

  • I loved the "conversation" with your brother at the end, too funny!

  • Not a chance is that bag 68kg. I doubt that guy even weighs that much. I see 100kg guys who can't pick up 50kg dumbells in the gym and I workout 7 days a week and see all kinds of potential. That bag is 30-40kg max.

  • Bullshit.

  • Actually, it's not. But, then again, I expected a response like this from someone who obviously doesn't understand what working out is all about.

  • Obviously. In any case, go read Dinosaur Training by Brooks Kubik. If you already have, then we are brothers, and shouldn't be arguing over something we both clearly are passionate about.

  • wtf, why are u comparing dumbbells with weights on your back, your legs are about 8 times as strong as your biceps and the stairs are only a few centimeters high so you aren't even near of doing full reps witch means that you can do a LOT more. those 100kg guys that you are talking about ask how much they can squat and dead lift and u will get your facts right.

  • I was talking in the context of weight vs body mass only, not excerises for any specific body part. It just seemed unlikely that a guy that small could pick up a 68Kg bag full of whatever (sand?) and lug it around for that long. If I'm wrong, it's not a problem - I'll happily accept that.
