The DC5 were great in their own right. There was some Beatles harmony style emulations but over all they hard their own lead vocal style. We did this song and Glad All Over in a band I used to be in called The Memorandums. The girls liked it too.
I remember hearing this song in Look Who's Talking Too. It was a cute movie with the little babies, Mikey and Julie. Of course I liked John Travolta and Kristie Alley too.
The DC5 were what they were, a good, rockin' band that made you clap along and stomp your feet, and the main complaint about them is that they weren't the Beatles, but who the BLOODY HELL were? Enjoy them for what they WERE, not what they WEREN'T, for Heaven's sake!
@therealjoebloggs I think that at the time when the Beatles and DC5 first came out, DC5 easily rivalled the Beatles. They were just as good. But DC5 couldn't match the longevity of the Lennon/McCartney partnership as to writing music. Pretty unbeatable team! But, HEY!!!, I'll never forget the DC5!!!
a fine time in american music with so many great bands just getting started. You could feel it in the air, there was a change a coming. You had to be there.Thx for posting.
Why has my comment been removed 5 months ago,,, I said nothing wrong about this track.........Thought this was for people with an opinion looks like you only leave on what your wannna hear.
Sure, take your point the Beatles did a hell of a lot more but as a personal opinion they just didn't float my boat......Its just that Dave Clarke have a better vibe as does the Searchers but if it came to a public vote I knw the Beatles would win everytime but just not for me.
@DJTanz1 Lol! Yeah great band, but thats quite a statement!aha The Beatles moved on, came up with more sounds...these guys didn't. From straight up rockers like I saw her standing there, cant buy me love, to yesterday then a song like rain and album revolver just 3 years later and rubber soul in between? These guys couldn't touch the beatles imo. (AND I haven't even mentioned sgt pepper!lol )
@DJTanz1 - better than The Beatles? how many GREAT songs did The Beatles create? Probably about a hundred...how many did Dave Clark 5 have? Maybe about 2 or 3 at the most....your comment merely casts doubt on your musical tastes. But whatever...
@42belvedere Why would it cast doubt i know my own musical tastes and the Beatles aren't high on it however like i said in an earlier post I have no boubt about the Beatles success in comparrison to DC5 but I do prefer them to the Beatles.
