This guy is looking at Swilley coming out as "Being Decitefull". When the reality is that Swilley has made a huge decision in his life, to try to help other gay folks in the world that share a secret like he did. He is setting an HONEST example, and allowing people who are afraid to feel more comfortable about being who they really are. This guy sais "Stop putting your problems in front of the Church". What he means to say is, "I don't understand Homosexuallity so therefore I hate it".

We should respect Jim for not being like the other gay pastors who only came out after a sex scandal. Jim Swilley was faithful to his wife and was not deceitful to his congregation. He had a partnership marriage instead of a sexual marriage but who cares. I don't wanna hear about my pastors sex life anyway. Allen Hunt needs to stop making Jim sound like a bad guy. Jim Swilley at least has some integrity and a clean track record.

I just want to say...the religious mindset think my marriage is in sin b/c I married someone who isn't the same color. I am not going to raise my children in a all white or all black church. Where in conyers/covington is there a church that loves & accepts all? Tell me..really tell me. And tell me where there is a church that doesn't ask you who baptized you, and you tell them & they say..you need to be re-baptized b/c that pastor was living in sin. I will always LOVE CITN! If you're a member of his church...as I am...you are very proud of your Bishop and we don't want him to go anywhere and he's not. He's more than qualified and we are blessed to have him as our Bishop. His Christ-centered teaching is clear & direct as it always has been.....but thanks for your concern for him and for us.

In fact, there is no indication that he has has any relationship or sexual encounter outside of marriage. Sexuality = sexual attraction, not sexual activity. Whether or not he chooses to persue a partner of the same sex is a different question entirely. Of course if same sex marriage is eventually allowed it'll work out great for everyone, because he be less likely to have sex outside of marriage, and you'll have something else to get on your soapbox about.

You go on to state that he is having sex outside of marriage. If you present a radio show, I'd like to think that it's a good idea to watch the sermon this refers to. He stated that he is "gay" in terms of who he is attracted to. When he was married he was faithful to his wife. Unless you have any knowledge to the contrary you should not aim to spread libelous comments live on air. Many people hold attractions that they have not pursued.

You create a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario, where if he isn't open about his sexuality he's "dishonest", and when he is if's "all about you". From an outside perspective I simply see it as him sharing his life and retaining his intregrity. There's no scandal here. If someone gets divorced is that "all about them" too? Life happens. I fail to see how secrets is more righteous than being open. He can't change the past, but at least now he is presenting himself as he is.
