Hey man, don't aske me to explain why it works like this, but I learned this in basic physics in high school. If you double the source, where both sources generate the same amount of deciBels, the perceived amount of deciBels rises by three, no matter how much deciBels the sources emit. i.e. two horns emitting 60 dB amount to a perceived 63 dB, and two horns emitting 140 dB each amounts to a total of 143 dB. If you're really interested, I'm sure Wikipedia has your answer ;)

@djdleen Alright, the culprit is the fact that a dB is a logarithmic unit, and not linear. If it were linear, double the sources would mean double the output. But a logarithmic scale works in a different way
