I think camtasia is a decent balance. its a far cry from adobe premiere however its a lot more user friendly.

Actually heres how it is.

Hypercam = Good for low end computers. Quality = Meh.

Camtasia = Decent for normal-high end computers quality = average

FRAPS = Good for normal-high end computers, quality = Great ( a problem though is that it doesn't compress the video while it records, so a 5min video will be like 4 gigs -__- )

Game Recorder = (Personal Favororite) Good for normal-high end computers, Quality = Great,( it shows FPS in the corner just like FRAPS, ) it also compresses as it records ^_^

@purity42 Fraps and Camtasia are different. Camtasia is an editing sweet that comes with a recorder made for tutorials and such. Fraps is made for gaming, and more recently tutorials. I use Fraps, then edit in Camtasia.

I just downloaded the free trial version of this software. I liked the editing features, however, I want to mute my video's sound and then use video narration instead. butI can't find any way to mute the original track's audio. The Camtasia website has a tutorial video showing how to record a video narration, but it does not explain how to mute the original track's audio. Can you help me?

camtasia is such a motherfucking noob program, you cant even (i dont mean titles) change the size of added text and link audio to video, lastest would be theoretically possible because the program does this with the primary audio but you cant do it by hand, seriously, for such a fucking crap giving over 100 bucks? worst piece of shit program ever its simple ok but you are not allowed to do things which the program easily can do. if you have a brain and an average IQ you dont need any tuts for it

@xxBlackpspxx Uhh...you can link audio and video and change size of text. Linking is what the blue dots are on the left side of the timeline. Double click text for properties, you can then change size. Overall, It's a great program. But everyone has their own opinion...I respect that

Can I ask you, do you think that you are supposed to capitalize "I" in the beginning of sentences and not in the middle? Because you have a cap on the first one and no caps on the following ones. Because if you are trying to write English correctly, then you should be capitalizing "I" all the time when it refers to you. Like this: "I went to the store and I found a bottle of juice that I really wanted to buy. So I bought it and I actually liked it. I suggest this juice to everyone."
