  • HELP! at 7:27, when it asks for password, it wont let me type.

after that, i changed my account to no password, and i pressed enter in the terminal. it then says "sorry, try again:

  • @ChesterMak20 It types, you just don't see it, I had the same mistake. So if you want to be sure that you typed well, write the pass somewher els(for ex: text editor), and then paste it in the terminal. Don't use cntrl + V, won't work in terminal, need to right click on the terminal and select paste. Then press enter. But I recommend to write it directly in the terminal. Good to get used to the password

  • @ChesterMak20 And anything you can always click in the "down arrow" key, so you can reuse the same code line you typed

  • @jonhylight thanks. after i got pass that part, he said to type wineloldeps, and the terminal says "command not found"

  • it says Downloading browsers-us.mirrors.zensoft.net/ie/win32/6.0/ie60.exe failed :S

  • @HOTSNOW123 I fixed my problem by reading this thread --> code.google.com/p/winetricks/issues/detail?id=118

  • E: Unable to locate package winelol

  • E: Unable to locate package winelol

  • @barbarianbomber I had that problem to. I changed to "natty" in the sourcelist.

Ubuntu software center --> edit --> Software sources --> Other software --> and chance "distribution" to "natty".

  • sudo apt-get install winelol

    Reading package lists... Done

    Building dependency tree

    Reading state information... Done

E: Unable to locate package winelol

    :S wierd

  • @whatisonyourmind me too

  • m'butu.....lol....

  • man i need some help!!

afte i type in wineloldeps it reads: command not found

    can you help me???

  • @o8onh HAd the same problem, I removed winelol and cabextract and reinstall them right away, then it worked fine.

  • also "sudo apt-get update" maybe

  • I was able to install LoL fine using the methods in the tutorial, and the client runs fine - but the server status always says 'Busy', News does not load and when I try to log in, it tells me the server is busy / try again later. The server isn't really busy, I checked with a separate windows install.

Any help with this? It's frustrating to be so close to success, but to have some hiccup like this be a total roadblock.

  • @OZ13MSEpy0n same problem

  • IE doesn't install! 404 error

  • @OutWiredTJ

    where is the second part?

  • @sanders561

    The link is broken.

    1) Download ie60.ex_ (replace "_" with "e" everywhere) from somewhere else (ex. download.oldapps.com/Internet_Explorer/ie60.ex_)

    2_ Check sha1sum (should be 8e483db28ff01a7cabd39147ab6c59753ea1f533)

    3) Copy it to ~/.cache/winetricks/ie6/ie60.ex_

    4) Re-run wineloldeps, it (winetricks) will use this file instead of downloading.

  • @oo2ooo Thank you!

  • yea wineloldeps does nothing D:, could it be because im using 64 bit ubuntu?

  • @sanders561 no that cant be it, im running x64 and everything goes fine untill i get to the part where its suppost to download IE6...

  • part 2 is down please help! I tried the typed one but i perfer video :P please reupload it as soon as possible!

  • actually nevermind just realised there is a text tutorial

  • Yes I'm in the process of re-encoding it and uploading it.

  • @OutWiredTJ WTF part 2?

  • @OutWiredTJ hello are you still gonna upload the second part? did RIOT games render lol incompatible for linux or is the message ReCon poseted up on unixblogger about him not doing anymore releases only of concern to ubuntu 11 users?

most importantly how do you access the .wine directory you never got to that in the first video, and i desperatly need to know because i need to paste the ie6 file to continue on the wineloldeps command, i'm stuck there.
