  • second all time favourite stones number ----it's a real ball tearer ......they defined rock n roll ----all credit to Keith ...............

  • @crackernumber2 you mean stand let alone play

  • AWESOME!!!10/10*Yeeeaaah Watch my version:))

  • Thanks for uploading this man!

  • After Mick Taylor left the Stones were all done. Ronnie Wood was good with the Faces but being in the Stones brought out his worse traits and highlighted the fact he's only a rhythm guitar player like Keith just not as nearly as good.

  • @HumanityTheVirus

How many decades will people continue saying this...it never ends

  • @binemaya777 indeed, i remember myself watching these videos 2 years ago and there was still the fuss over how awesome taylor was and how the stones suck without him. people should cool out, it's been a couple of years since taylor was gone and the stones still go on. no reason to cry over spilled milk.,

  • @binemaya777 i think all three of the "Rhythm guitarists" had there traits. Brain out of all three brought diverse talent to the band and i have though for the early years was the most talented one in the band and was mainly a rhythm guitarist. Mick was the best guitarest in the group with his solos. He and Keith did some great dual solos. Ronnie i think combined both along with keiths playing and has created a great live sound for over 35+ years

  • @HumanityTheVirus

LOL whats with this man?! Let me make a quess, your a beatles fan?!

  • @HumanityTheVirus I guess everyone has a right to their opinion, no matter how asinine. I thought Mick Taylor was a magnificent guitarist but to say Ron Wood can't play lead? Give me a break.

  • @HumanityTheVirus You have got to be kidding me!

  • ha ha disliking this is like a joke .. and the joke is on you .. you are pathetic!

  • this dudes got the moves like jagger

  • @Bradley5106 you think? I think.

  • I LoVe R.S. !!!

  • @glimmer2158 Cocaine.

  • Would've liked to have heard Brian wail on the harp on this tune.

  • Wat sind se dünn, die Heroin-Buben. Nix zum Nachmachen. Geile Mucke anyway. (0bs auch ohne gehn tät?)

  • @TREYOLDHIPPIE You are absolutely right. I'm sorry if I made you angry. I was an addict when they made this vid. Please don't be mad.

  • @asajdera3 Sorry I got a little pissy. H is such a hooker. U may know people get hooked the FIRST time they decide to "play" with it. They end up with withdrawals after maybe 10 hours.. shaking, gagging.. its so deadly. I did not mean to go nutz.. I think the 'thumbs up" on the comment was becuase the you said they are NOT using any more. But not meanin to jump on you. Hey, stay cool, thank you for being so considerate to write back.

  • @TREYOLDHIPPIE You are nice. Thank you!

  • Amazing guitarsound. Both of them.

  • Mick does NOT look like he knows what he's doing :D

  • too nice, that's the Stones at their very best !

  • What was way cool was a song called." Route 66 ". It existed and ended in San

Bernardino.. The stones played in "Berdoo" in 1964. I was there and so were the Hell's Angles. Well if you ever plan to border west, take my highway it's the best!

    remember?

  • what a sexy song, i know i just came :)

  • watching this clip, it's no wonder that punk was beginning to explode across the u.k this same year....

  • Keith resembles someone who has just got off a high security psychiatric ward.

  • Play it Keith!

  • Kick ass so far away oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Midnight Rambler

  • ohh surely that must be it. right. they survived and got this rich 45 years in the business by being jacked up on whateverdrug. yes drugs usually propel professionals to play good and make wise business decisions.

  • Uff... so much miss Mick Taylor in Rambler, what are you doing Wood ??

  • @Nielsanderspoulsen ...He's dreaming of one day actually BEING Keith.Lol

  • @fendermac surely.. and 34 years later he is still dreaming :)

  • @Nielsanderspoulsen ...I guess we must all be grateful that even old men can have dreams.

  • @fendermac yeah, fx I can dream of the day Keith is calling: we cannot get Mick Taylor back, but Niels - do you have time for next tour ? :))

  • @Nielsanderspoulsen ...Perhaps we can play alternate nights....

  • @fendermac allright - I'll put you into the dream too..

  • is this on dvd?

  • Kick ass!! I wish they still used this level of distortion. The Stones play too clean live now.

  • This is a million times better then any of those long blues song led zeppelin made.

  • @WetheBest96 Idk man i think its hard to compare, to call Zeppelin better than the Stones is like calling fire better than water

  • @jeffm300 Good call. I'd pick the early Stones if I was forced to choose, though. These guys meant it, they defined rock and roll, they lived it - and perhaps one or two of them still do. When the music stops, they die.

With Zeppilen, when they died (JB!) the music stopped.

  • @garcemac Yeah man, but how the hell are you supposed to replace someone like John Bonham? He was phenomenal! For me, he was the most important part of the Zeppelin sound.

  • @SpiirytStarrchild

100% agree. You don't replace John Bonham.

  • im pretty sure the word stoned comes from the name rolling STONES

  • @katizzlerox101 are u 12? Katizzlerox 6 months ago! the word is so ancient.. pathetic.. all the drug talk here is ignorant. anyone who has not seen what drugs do..and dare to say mick is all coked up.. hell he makes himself get stimulated by running up and down a hall.. do you really think you would make it to his age if you did massive amounts of coke? what little dumboz. worshipping drugs? Get a life.. stop living of your parents in your dull dark basement.

  • @TREYOLDHIPPIE driven in a corner; got no more to say? go check ur profile & alter it accordingly... wannabe buddhist in ur dull dark basement room- dont forget about the needle & the spoon- just for the sake of making it rhyme....

  • @TREYOLDHIPPIE its a joke you hippie.

  • Is this the June 6 show in paris?

  • Little Faster than Studio Just like the Brits Remember them from Ed Sullivan

  • mick is jacked up on coke

  • @robbagels Man, watch ANY live Stones performance from about 1972 to 1980, and Jagger is this coked up, minimum!

Some of the videos on Youtube, he’s so out of it, he’s singing about 5 beats ahead of the band!

  • Så vidapass stenade helt klart lide coolt!

  • Mick Jagger is a funny dancer, but I like it

  • keith capotraste 7 beauthfull

  • heroin, hell.

    Milk, Cream. Alcohol

  • Who's the black girl playing drums on this?

  • Paris 1976 I believe.

  • Jesus Christ, what a shit!

  • @Wollenschrank no need for Jesus to intervene, my friend:) You've just showed your lack of taste here, that's all:)))

  • raw straight to the guts rock n roll.

  • This sounds like their cocaine version, 9000 miles an hour. Led Zepplin use to play like this as well when they were doing the C....Playing Song remains the same so fast it sounded like a 331/3rd on 78

  • see me jump the garden wall...

  • The Stones ruled the rock concert scene for 4 decades!! No band has ever and will ever do that.

  • Not to put down their live performances (full of effort and energy) but their songs simply sound better coming out of the studio. This is one of my favorite RS tunes and this sounds like something that dribbled out of my cat;s ass.

  • @berylman no way, the studio version is shithouse compared to this, and other live versions i've heard

  • @louisguitarslinger I gave this version another try and you are right. I might just have an innate aversion to live music. The quality is great here. I gotta say Mick prances around like a cat on speed in this video though... not that it matters to the music...still can sing and play the the bloody harmonica.

  • i bet keith hated micks pants and hair

  • ronnie and keith were really getting there "art of weaving" together.......... i love how

keith drives the band like a fucking porshe.... i mean for all the drugs richards was taking at the point in his life its amazing he is able to play let alone stand.

  • awsome version woohw great stuff

  • ik vind byna alles goed dus heb ik alles gepikt.

  • One of the best versions of MR I have ever seen. But I think the Ya-Ya's version is best overall.

  • Do you think Mick has ever taken drugs?

  • back n the day there is no better than mick, and now he still rocking, better than ever, and next to that will be areosmith...you got to hand to both of them...... and as far as micks moves,if you dont like them dont watch them....R.E.D.

  • ow!!!! 6:31 OWWWWWW!!!!!!!

  • let there be no doubt this band is in the first the first chair, as a real old guy my all time favorites are 1.stones 2.ten years after 3.free 4.ac dc 5. grand funk railroad

  • I don't think Mick really dances lol I think it's more of a groove

plus who doesn't wanna just cut loose and dance around or grove or what eves

    1 its the stones

2 its only rock n roll

  • man he is totally gay!!!!!!!

  • @pgs600 he's totally hot!!!!!!!

  • @pgs600 I think that THIS video is complete proof that he is NOT gay. Nooo way!

  • No one but Frank Sinatra. Mick is the best, and the Stones are the best.

  • a mans song,so fuck offv whimps

  • Thank you so much for putting this on the 'Tube. While this is a great version, I still prefer the "Ya-ya's" version because it's perfectly balanced. The later live shows finish with the tempo too fast. The "Ya-ya's" version finishes with a moderate tempo, but charging like a plutonium-loaded freight train.

  • Fuckin' goofy, spastic Jagger. Never could dance worth a damn. Don't get me wrong, love 'em all but he's a better singer than dancer.

  • I think Mick dances like a convulsing roach that has just been sprayed with insecticide--but I say this with all the affection in the world.

  • @goddessinsecta Drugs are just a Pandoras Box. Use 'em at your discretion (& peril), don't make a fool of yourself, and get on with it. Just like alcohol (another drug), they affect each of us differently. Never tried the big 'H', morphine seems like it would be similar, but I've never had that either. But it's never interested me & that's probably just as well.

  • @kolbpilot i know what you mean. mick's more good on single moves then dancing (if we intend dancing as a continuous movement). in 4 minutes he can appears as goofy too, but it's not madonna with playback.

it's kickin' out some great r'n'r.

anyway, some of this moves are in r'n'r history. if you look to stones clips here on tube, you can see a lot of legendary moves. those who force people to say, seeing another one dancin, "hey man you're acting like mick jagger".

    an icon.

  • Good song. Good group. To put it mildly.

  • I can imagine either a collection of clips from the game borderlands or the movie fight club set to the studio version of this song.

  • This song live was on Get Your Ya Ya's Out. Hubby likes the live version better, but I like the original from Let it Bleed, the Stones best album ever! You wouldn't want Mick's trousers to fall down now. Would ya? I would! And to think he had a baby with Carla Bruni, who is now married to the president of France! Feel so sorry for Jerry Hall, when Mick told her they weren't really married! She had all those kids, and he tricked her into thinking their marriage was legal. And it wasn't.

  • the get yer ya ya's out album version is by far the best, this one is too hurried.

  • Yea, I totally agree, but the version from Get Your Ya's Ya's out isn't on You Tube. At least I couldn't find it! Get your Ya's Ya's out was a great live album!

  • @TestShoot yea,definitly right,miss the groove on this here

  • q gran tema !!!

  • Mick never had to worry about getting fat like Elvis.

  • Heroin is cool. Hard to keep under control though. DON"T DO IT!!!

  • I don't know how anyone can get hooked on heroin! I did it once & puked my guts out the whole time. And then one of my friends fell down the steps to his death! It's a wonder Keith & Mick are still alive! Of course, the heroin took a much bigger toll on Keith, cuz he looks so damn scary! Even it was coke, I still couldn't do it for a long time. Speed lasts much longer, my friends would go on binges, & all I wanted to do was get some sleep! Don't know how people can do it for as long as they can!

  • @asajdera3 Good comment. As an RN w/a 32-year career, I consider heroin--and all opiates--to be one of God's greatest gifts. It all depends on why you need to use it. Heroin is a very demanding mistress that will have nothing less than your full 24/7 commitment! Addicts never forget their first time using it, which is why they become addicts in the first place. It's better to never try it, because only one in a thousand can use it strictly for recreational purposes.

  • Stick with d'bud kids, dat other shit'll kill ya.

  • @asajdera3 please tell me how heroin is cool

  • @asajdera3 What's so cool about it? Poseur.

  • @asajdera3 hahaha your sooo right

  • @asajdera3 Or try it once, but have the self control not to do it again.

  • @asajdera3 what a complete dumbass.......don't do it makes sense, saying it's cool is ignorant. stop embarrassing your friends and family and be someone wirth knowing instead of worthless piece of shit.

  • Any one seen Bill?

  • He's probably living in happy bliss with his young wife. She was a teenager when they got married, and he was like 50 or close to it.

  • Did ya hear bout the midnight rambler?

  • is mick 70 or 80 pounds? i cant tell

  • 67 pounds to be exact

  • trop démoli mick

  • I like it better on "Get Yer Ya Yas Out"...

  • oh by the way, for the guitar players. standard tuning, capo at the 8th fret. start in E.

  • @teden20

Correction---Keith capos the 7th fret for this song.

  • "how to play rock and roll 101". this is college.... now. lol. old fucker from Detroit here. this is it. if you play guitar, if you play in a group, this, this is it. you want to play this song as your first rehearsal/practice. and never, never, ever drop it.

  • Absolutely teden. Keep this one. I think I dropped it in '73. See now I got to learn it again, well the words anyway.

  • these guys are so fucking awesome. and mick is so fucking skinny

  • There's no better Rock & Roll than this fabulous and eternal Rolling Stones.

  • Ah yes u r rite im wrong my bad still great song

  • STONES FOREVER

  • lmao ripper sorry

  • ladies and gents this song is about jack the ribber

  • What's a ribber anyway?

  • No, it's about the Boston Strangler, Albert Desalvo.

  • 70s...cocaine for all

  • more like heroin for all. the 70s was when keith was heavily addicted to heroin

  • @kevinjim33 true about Keith, but in 1976 they all would be heavily into coke, hence the manic tenor of this performance.

  • everyone has the right to their own opinion ...to bad most just dont know what they are talking about....and if you dont like the stones...why are you even listening???/

  • ACEBAKER911, Rush is talented, but the lead vocalist always sings in such a pretentious ponderous tone that he appears to believe he is curing cancer and ending war with his very words. It's silly, and I notice that 93.6% or Rush fans are nerdy white guys.

  • Oh my god!! that's so true

  • 93.6% nerdy white guys and gay as well. Rush sucks because the vocalist sings like a fag, no attitude at all. =\

  • Mick Jagger is one of the best showman on the planet. The Stones have a feminine tone? That is completely stupid and sexist, ever heard of woman tone? Comparing The Stones to Rush is lunacy, because Rush are rubbish and the Stones will outlast religion

  • true datttttttt

  • Not the religion of Visnu beeitches!

  • boring sound for millions of people

  • ids that english u fg

  • What date and show was this taken from. Looks like Paris, but they did four shows there in 1976.

  • i loved billy preston on this tour, god bless billy....

  • stones are boss my friend

  • these fools are high saying stones mellow psh t

  • What are you talking about my friend? The Stones are BOSS -their songs have tons of power..

  • get real

Most of their songs are very soft , very Mellow

this song is a Huge Exception, im not talkign about the singing, im talking about the tone of the instruments, esp the Guitar.

only other song i can think of that resembles this tune in Guitar tone raw edgy sound is

    Cant you hear me Knockin'

  • Turn your hearing aid up.

Sugar, Sympathy, Satisfaction do not = soft and mellow.

But if you want guitars played boringly at 11 the whole song, go buy Metallica or AC/DC. Nice lack of variety there.

  • Your forgetting songs like Bitch, Gimmie Shelter, Satisfaction and Brown Sugar. The stones have plenty of songs with bit of raunch

  • NAH you're not understanding what iim talking about.

what im saying is the tone of their instruments is very very soft and weak. The guitar tone sounds like something from 1950, way too mellow.

This song is a huge exception, Most of their stuff is wimpy and soft. Satisfaction while good for the era it was released, compared to todays sound, it sounds muffled, and the Guitar tone sounds feminine and very weak, it has NO power or intensity.

  • Satisfaction was very early (around '64), the recording technology wasn't there to capture anything more intense and the amps weren't suitable. Most early amps had no master volume, you had to turn them up to ear bleeding volumes to get any sort of distortion. It wasn't until they started using more sophisticated isolation booths, (so they could turn the amps up without deafening themselves) that they could get that sort of distortion and sustain that Clapton and Hendrix used.

  • well if you compare the 70s Stones to Rock groups like Rush, Boston etc. there is no comparison to Musical tone and melodic Power.

The stones just play soft, thats all there is to it. The guitar tone sound on most songs is feminine, flat and wimpy compared to Other Rock Bands.

    thats the bottom Line

  • Compared to 70s bands yes the Stones were no where as near as aggressive. You have to remember they broke out in 1962. If they had changed their sound they would have alienated the core of their fan base. Heavy Metal started in 1969 (Sabbath and Zeppelin) and that shaped the 70s rock scene. Stones were another era. Its like me comparing Rush to Slayer and saying they're whimpy and flat because they're not as heavy or aggressive.

  • @MoosicDude The Who was agressive in the 60s

  • mate, when you form a band that changes the history of music let me know, until then keep your cod criticism to yourself.

  • i like the Raw Powerful agressive Tone of this song. But the rest of their songs are very flat as far as intrumentation goes.

If you want to hear a Rock Band from the 70s and early 80s with a very Powerful, hard driving , yet at same time exquisitely melodic and harmonic rock sound, Listen to RUSH

their songs are in a different world as far as instrument power and tone, than the Stones

  • I must agree with

ACEBAKER911. Even if it was still the 60's there were plenty of bands really rockin like the early garage bands. I mean i like most of the stones songs if only they could have been performed with more agression and speed
