I love Germany...always have. But I do sense some anti-British sentiment here. I have read in history books that many Germans were envious of the British Empire including Queen Victoria's grandson, the kaiser. As an American I have great respect for British AND Germans.
I've seen better wrought iron gates built by our local ironmonger at our home here in Kent which also during WWII was a prisoner of war camp for German officers, not one escaped, in fact Daddy used to comment that they wished it was like the brandeburg gate, oweing to the fact that if it was they could walk to freedom through the massive holes blown in it by the RAF, how we laughed at their lack of humour

Man,... that wasn´t courage,... that was stupidity!!! Ask most of the german-vets... They got slaughter for nothing and most of them knew it... but didn´t had the COURAGE to do anything against it!!!
The German army has many men, heros of courage. There are many that gave all thy had for German, not Hitler. Rommel gave his life for his country. many like him did the same.
Yeah mostly,.. (big) but: The Gate is looking so good, ´cause they restored it about 5 years ago... Berlin payed millions for that (and we could vote which color it should be...I won ;) )
