How da hell did the ancient Egyptians make that thing? iv I had the money I'd probably get a replica ov dat made and put it in my house but dat thing is priceless
thank you for a new view on te mask... how often can you go to a museum to get your own view on things... inside backside...side.... that is what youtube makes special. people like you who share good information and videos. and not some junk. thank you
@georgandjulie did you notice anything about TuT skull. He has a large cone shaped head. When they show it on most sites they hide the back of it as much as they can. He was one of the cone heads. This trait was only seen in the royals. Was he totally of this world? Some are saying NEPHILIM, or part ALIEN. Who knows, research this and you be the judge. We are all on the wrong track. It's not about color anymore, its more of , human or other, or both.
You will see things like the the mummy of Thutmose the 1st with coarse wooly hair in a 1930s published book by Sir W M Flinders Petrie (renowned Egyptologist of the day) . He's now bald. Or the coal black (always in art) grandmother of renowned Queen Hatshepsut.
dumd asses. That's not his death mask. That's his mask of immortality and everlasting life. Somebody need to dig up all the bodies of those who desicrated his grave. You cannot mess with ancient burial grave sites in america, or any grave sites for that matter. Thay were lucky it was only them and not their whole family.
The Death Mask of Tutankhamen as displayed in the Cario Museum is an Original artefact. Gold does not decay or discolour with age, I have seen Saxon gold jewellery taken from the ground and - wow - after a wipe off its brilliant.
It's like it was made today, it should look older, obviously you don't know GOLD, it gets darker with time, and we are speaking about 3.000 ago, and the mask looks like that??
The mask is truly an amazing piece of artwork though it pisses me off to no end that Carter disrespected Tut's mummy like he did. I'd like to see how he felt if someone dug up one of his relative's graves and defiled/mutilated the corpse the way he did Tut!
Yea seriously, Carter broke Tut's legs I believe cuz his body was stuck in the casket. Yea, I mean if someone did that to me or one of my relatives I'd put a curse on their ass and kill them as well.
Yes indeed. You have a good heart. Even though neither you nor I can control other peoples actions, we can control ours and good karma always comes to the good.
Well I suppose the info may vary. I have found that number through different research. You could be right, but I have never actually weighed the thing! :)
@thechaz83 Priceless actually, I don't think you could put a price on it. Kind of like the Mona Lisa, there isn't any point in trying to steal it because you would never be able to show it to anyone.
i went to the show in dallas today...it looks preaty fake...it looks to new and..well things that look like they should have turnd to dust by now look brand new!!!
can any one out there help me please. i have been searching for an authentic replica of this mask forever. no-one does one that looks like him, they look more like martin clunes, size is not important ( excuse the punn) but if it does not look like him.... its not him.
I doubt that you can find a very good replica outside Egypt. However, if you do go to Egypt, go to a famous market called "Khan-el-Khalili". There are Egyptian craftsmen who live from making small statues as souvenirs for tourists. I am sure you will find there what you need, they are excellent craftsmen, like their ancestors.
The video I took was in April 2001 in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. I have never heard of any of King Tut's items on display as being fakes and the originals in a safe. In fact, if you research the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, you will find that they have so many artifacts that they cannot display them all and the basement is full of thousands of items, some still in there original excavation wrappings lie untouched. Our tour guide, informed us that a new bigger museum was being built.
great vid!i saw the mask back in 2004 but on other videos of the mask a couple of people are saying then mask that is on display is only a replica and thet the real thing is kept in a safe,do you know if this is true?
It is very difficult to fake something like this. Besides, people can recognize pure Gold AND the Egyptian Museum is the safest in the world, they have the highest security.
it amazies me on how this artifact is well presevred and still looks nice

He was inbred, not an alien.. Odd deformations sometimes happen when people are inbred.

I'm sorry but the Egyptians must have had SOME type of technology to construct that!! Maybe the Egyptians aren't as primitive as we think they were..

Wonder if they can do it out of gold as well. Available by request and a payed before hand of course. lol

how in the world did those egiptians make that?
hockeygoalie5005 3 years ago
it took a lot of time, gold, and jewels. It also looks like on the back, you can see the Heiroglyphs, an ancient Egyptian writing.

You are correct on everything except that the items on display are not fake.
The bigger museum is "The Grand Egyptian Museum" due 2011-2012
