  • i love how she could not care less about you being 100 times bigger than she is

    bad ass ,squirrel mom ,,

  • nice buildings

  • just read a chapter in my comparative psych book on squirrels, specifically Californian squirrels. With snakes at least, they charge and jump back to get them to respond so they can judge how big it is by the sound and they wiggle their tails in certain ways to warn of, or the lack of, nearby predators. Also they use body heat to figure out how fast the snake can charge (more heat = quicker). I was excited about my new knowledge

  • 1:13 I'm guessing it was calling out to mom

  • Yes, the mother squirrel establishes multiple den sites in her territory. It is actually a good survival strategy for them to have alternative den sites to move into when the primary site is no longer safe.

  • It is not uncommon for baby squirrels to have ectoparasites such as fleas and lice on them. It is just easier to see them when they have short fur.

  • Did anyone notice the huge fleas crawling all over the baby squirrel?!?!?!

  • That was pretty cool!!!

  • where would she have put them in a alternative nest? would she built another nest first, and then come back to save her babies?
