i recall how chris evans looked as sickly steve rogers in the film, i couldn't believe how the cgi made him look very real connected from someone else's appearance.
james howlett. wolverines birth name. he knew he had a super healing factor and super senses. however he was not aware of the fact that he had bone claws until years later when the weapon X program fused adamantium to his bones
You should watch X-Men Evolution, there's a crossover and we effectively see Cap and Logan working together and getting the young Erik Lehnsherr a.k.a. Magneto, free of a Nazi Camp! Viva Marvel for great crossovers!
it was either keep the nazi's or keep the guns. i would rather have had the guns than the nazi's. or would you rather take the south park route and have the howling commandos fight with walkie talkies???
Originally cameo appearances were planned in the film for James Logan Howlett (Wolverine) and Erik Lensherr (Magneto), who were present during World War II (Logan was a soldier and Lensherr was a prisoner of war). These cameos were scrapped due to rights issues.
Since Wolverine isn't in the Captain America movie. I would have at least liked to see him in the present with Captain America in The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes and not just in the past.
Walt Disney was a supporter of Adolf Hitler and the nazi movement before the invasion of Poland. I could see why Disney inc. would want to leave the nazis out of their cartoons and films. If you don't believe me google all the racist bullshit that Henry Ford and Walt Disney were up to.
@lllDevilbytheDeedlll That's right; Disney's not an educational channel anymore - it's entertainment. Entertainment doesn't have to be politcally or historically accurate just so long as it's fun to watch. Just so we're on equal terms.
@ChibiKoorine - Look I like this show, I really do. And it's not like I'm saying they have to go into painstaking detail about WW2 or what the Nazis did or anything. I just find it really fucking weird and also a bit silly that they would make such a strange and pointless change is all.
In the Captain America - focused newsreel, its clear that in many ways, Hydra has replaced the Nazis as the main threat to Europe in the 1940s. Do the Nazis exist in this world? Are the Axis powers now Hydra, Japan, and Italy?
YOST: Yes, Nazis exist in this world. Hydra is a branch of the Nazis. The Axis powers are Germany, Japan and Italy. Hydra was the focus of Cap's activities, though, as well as the Howling Commandos... and thus they were our focus.
Funny how Wolverine looks older in Avenegrs than his appearance on Wolverine and the X Men. Reminds me of how young Hugh Jackman looks on X Men and how old he looks in X Men Origins Wolverine.
@TaraKitaideHunter Did you read the comics? I'm pretty sure that Hydra WERE Nazis, but then they broke off in order to do what THEY wanted. They competed with the Nazis in sponsorship and technology development. I'm not sure, though, so don't quote me on it. I'm more involved in the DC universe than Marvel.
@TaraKitaideHunter If you know the story, you know that Red Skull (i.e. Hydra) was an arm of the Nazi's, and then Red Skull essentially took all the power to himself, so Red Skull was a "separate" bad guy in the Nazi storyline, etc.
@TaraKitaideHunter Hydra was working for the Nazis during the WW2 making terrorist attacks in Europe, Capitan America and Bucky were fighting against Hydra, but when the nazis lose the war, thay still trying to take the world with Red Skull as his leader.
Have saw that the "HYDRA " goon at 4.46 speaks with a german accent , Hydras Banners at 3.46 are like the Nazi Banner and the Grenade at 4.57 is a german Stielhandgranate ?
Fox owns the rights to Wolverine and the X-Men. Marvel sold the rights to them before they were bought by Disney. They also sold the rights to Spider-Man to Sony.
Damn I was surprised to see Wolverine. Even without adamantium laced bones he's an unparalleled badass. Why no claw action? James Howlett/Logan's claws are made of bone, he's always had them, part of his mutant powers.
@gangrail They planned on it but they couldn't get the rights because the movie privileges for X-Men are owned by another company. They also wanted to show Magneto as a child because he was holocaust survivor. Oh what could have been.
@DoctorLazers that may be with movie privileges but marvel still owns the character their not making a xmen movie their making a captain america movie does not mean they cannot use the character wolverine just cant use hugh jackman
@gangrail Tell that to the guys at Marvel studios. The characters are under exclusive film rights to the company that produced them (can't remember who at the moment) and so unless they go out and get permission from them the characters aren't allowed to appear in another theatrical film. Getting said permission is too much work for a cameo.
so are there any Nazis in this Avengers series? They made it look like Germany was taken over by Hydra after some eastern countries. I was under the impression that Hydra was founded as a result of Nazism.
@partymonster411 the X-men cartoon was good, and The Hulk one was too(at least until they paired him up with She-Hulk,where they pretty much threw the notion of an ongoing story-arc out of the window). Vandal Savage controlling Nazis is one thing, but erazing Nazis and telling us that our grandfathers fought against HYDRA? That's insult to everybody who died in WWII !!!
Well Hydra you have to admit was so powerfull when compared to regular Nazi troops so why wouldn't they take over? Makes them a tad bit more of a threat to non comic book fans plus guess what age group is going to be watching this for the first time? Kids who likely have no idea what world war 2 or the nazis are.
What the shit? Hydra! What about Germany and the fucking Nazis! I smell Mouse shit all over this crap. This is so fucking disrespectful to all the men who died in WWII smashing the Axis it makes me want to take a baseball bat to everyone involved in making this crap.
ok..this has got to be too stupid....i'm glad bucky is in this.....and i'm glad he's in the new movie this year..(and i hope he gets to be winter soldier in avengers or cap 2...) but thwey should just have had hydra as a special ss unit under strucker..like in the books....not this...stick to history...

@suddercain you are correct my mistake! "Despite the extent of his healing factor, Wolverine is not immortal. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form, such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid, Wolverine can die."- Marvelwiki
Only complaint ... I don't know, maybe they left WWII out of the picture? The fight between the Allies and the Nazis? Gone.
And another small point on historical 'inaccuracy' (as much as historically accurate this cartoon can be anyway): why does the Red Skull use American pronounciation for 'lieutenant'? Wouldn't he, being German, be more equated with British English?
@thedarkspy99 Yup. Old Wolvie got around before the whole 'Weapon X' business, that including fighting along side Captain America and Bucky during WWII.
@thedarkspy99 his name is locan ( i think its spelled like that) and yes its him he was a soldier in the war. ohh and if you go a bit back you can see saber touth
So we know wolverine was around when Captain America was first fighting Hyrda (WWII-era) so that makes logan over 60 years old. His healing factor makes him look thirty-something.

@thedarkspy99 Yup. Old Wolvie got around before the whole 'Weapon X' business, that including fighting along side Captain America and Bucky during WWII.

So we know wolverine was around when Captain America was first fighting Hyrda (WWII-era) so that makes logan over 60 years old. His healing factor makes him look thirty-something.
CaptainBlade1701 1 year ago
@CaptainBlade1701 He' far older than that. Logan was born in the late 19th century.

Also, why hasn't this been shown in the UK? Is it the violence? The guns? The WW2 references? I mean, what the hell?

Holy jesus, the Howling Commandoes. I love this show so much...
My only gripe is Hydra being around instead of the Nazi's. I mean, in JL they showed freaking Hitler. TV censors are, ironically, Nazi's.
