THE USA DIDN'T WIN THE WAR...IF ANYTHING IT WAS A DRAW ALTHOUGH I WOULD TEND TO THINK THAT SINCE THE US TRIED TO INVADE CANADA AND FAILED....MOST WOULD CONSIDER THAT A LOSS ..IT'S SCARY THAT PEOPLE WHO HOLD SUCH POSITIONS HAVE NO CONCEPT OF THE HISTORY THEY ARE TRYING TO TEACH.
@alabarloplop Go home. Who are you, some English dude with an inferiority complex? Go home and get out of our face. The US kicked the Englishman's butt and well be happy to do it again any time you dare.
@ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 well actualy i moved to england im canadian so actually my great great grandfather kick ur piece of shit ass out of my fucking country so fuck u little prick
u lost the war of 1812 big time u attacked us with a full trained army well we the canadians were farmers the british regulars did not come in until the very last year just befor we took washinton and burned it to the ground then we ended it the british tryed one last assalt it failed but u did NOT win the war of 1812 if u wonder y america is the most hated country to date is because the gloat they deny losing and act like they hav won every war single handed
@alabarloplop The BRITISH burned Washington to the ground. it was a tie. No one gained ground or power through this war. America is NOT the most hated country.
@colorless100 Yeah and we destroyed your army, national unity, and how the fuck can we destroy London if we have land problems. If London was closer then we would've tried to do the same to what you did to us. Also, if you still deny think of this weaker country getting a tie pretty darn amazing if you ask me.
@colorless100 We didn't try to invade you we tried to STOP you from raiding our trade ships. Yes, destroyed youre country what you think an army who go beaten wouldn't be nearly destroyed your thinking of numbers not the morale.
@colorless100 Well then they're idiots they don't know theyr allies then because the other countries didn't give a shit about America. But, the 1st war wasn't even settled even though it obviously it was.
@colorless100 You serious Britain knew that they lost after the war it ended 1783 and this war started in 1812 so you think that it takes 29 years to get to England... interesting thought.
@colorless100 So why did you say "communication error" and "Back then it took months for news to travel" because I am pretty sure most British people read the news papers.
@Agomongo1235 Okay, I'll tell you the problem all in one quick explanation:
Back then, when it took about 3 months--if you were lucky--to go from Europe to America or the other way around, the British had been impressing American traders (Making them fight for the British). The Americans sent someone to kindly ask them not to, and it turned out it did, but the news didn't get to America, who still thought they should declare war on the British, until further into the war. And they had started.
@colorless100 Yeah but don't you think 29 years is enough to tell all of the American people. Yet Britain still acted like fools and started to act llike jackasses.
@Agomongo1235 I'm on the American side--are you just trying to make sure I get it right, or are you another bias, but towards the British?
And I didn't say 29 years, we had to ask Britain to stop impressing our soldiers (For the war with France). The news that they had stopped already didn't come until after we had started the war.
@colorless100 Really? I am on Americas side and Americas side is saying that "We won" the Brits are saying "It was a tie" and you said that we got a tie when we really didn't.
@Agomongo1235 Me, my history teacher, and my entire 8th grade think that it was a tie. Yippidee-doo-dah, I still think so after anyone yelling at me about this stuff.
THE WAR OF 1812 WAS ALOT MORE THAN THE BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS....AND WHY ARE THERE NAPOLEON TROOPS FIGHT AT NEW ORLEANS...SILLY

in all fairness, no one one the war, despite US winning 62 battles compared with 38 British victories on both land and sea.
Ghent treaty negotiations went in US favor after the British defeat at Baltimore.
