I had the amazing experience of hearing Tori perform this song live at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas years ago. It was my first Tori concert. When she performed this song, I sat there in awe. At the end of this song my face was covered in tears. I'm a casual fan of her music but her live shows are must-sees. Thanks for posting this powerful, emotionally charged song.
i will never forget when i shared this at the Boulder Theatre w/ this beautiful person, artist.... it was many, many eons ago & I won free tickets.... this song changed my life. It's been years and years, and yet, still, one of the most powerful moments of my life. Thank you, Tori Amos, for being yourself!! Thank you, thank you.
Tori... i have been through similar things to you and i know I could not sing about them. You are my hero and I hope that maybe one day I will be strong like you. Thank-you for saving me, often. x
"i haven't seen Barbados, so i must get out of this", she concentrated on that through her ordeal, that that was some place she had never been, and as she said, she put all of her will into that one thought, because she had to survive because she hadn't seen Barbados yet. I am sure it could have been anything, just to concentrate on surviving. Possibly actually going there now would be too painful? Only Tori knows for sure.
@Kawamura2 I think it would be because it could never live up to everything it was to her that night. It sort of represented a perfection, THE "reason" to live. I could not go.
I love Tori Amos. She is without a doubt my all time favorite artist. To turn a night of terror around like she did and conquer it through song is simply amazing.
she's one of our most important artists. she's not comparable to anyone (not even Joplin). Amos has the type of individuality we all strive for. she's a role model for us as men too. for one to be able to dig into their subconscious without worry of judgement is the very definition of an artist. i love her to death.
this song is amazing and it makes it okay it makes not fighting okay even if you hate it that you didn't fight theres always barbados. thank you tori for making sense of what never could make sense.
I Like " It is not about a place it is about Consciousness!!!!!" TRUE TO THAT!

Es sind geniale Menschen, aber nur vergleichbar mit genialen Computern.
Und sie werden privat auch nur vergleichbare Menschen ordern können...
