At first when i was doing this it was fine, i mean the words were sort of fuzzed, but now like the bottom half of the text is disappearing and its hardly legible... is there a better place to do this other than paint?

0.4 converts the colors right, whereas 1.1.1 for some reason mixed up the pallet...

The map got nothing to do with the texture pack. Only the frame around and a mini view of the item. Works on multiplayer? Yes, almost same question. The map files are WITH the world file. So as long as you have the map files in your world it works for multi and singelplayer

@MrSmexyTheBeast Thanks, glad you enjoyed. I believe you can change what the map looks like by editing the texture pack. The only down side will be that others will have to do the same to see it like that. :)

@AqwWarf Haha, no its paint.NET. Which is a free downloadable program. Nothing to do with MS paint.

@AqwWarf If you're using the Windows7 paint, just click the dropdown bar where you can click New, Open, Save etc. and click the "Properties" tab. It'll open up a window, and you can change the height and width . (remember: 128 by 128!) Also, make sure that the "units" is "pixels" and not inches. That'll be in the same window.

Hope this helped! I was worried too when I realized I wasn't using the same version of Paint, so don't feel bad!

couldnt you just open the map_*number* in gimp or mspaint and edit it, and be done with it? XD seems simpler.. lemme test it *tests* ... Paint stinks.. XD doesnt work forget i even said all that XD

So even if i delete the original map_10 and then paste this new one, in minecraft, the map that was map_10 is now map_11. Please help elite moose, your my only hope!

@JBroadElf Ok, im going to do my best to help. Try pressing "Save Map" not "Save as". That will turn it into DAT. (If that didn't work) When you save it. Rename it as map_10.dat. Writing the .dat at the end. But remember. SAVE MAP not SAVE AS! :D Best of luck.

I'm having a really hard time using this on my server. I use an FTP file manager and no matter where I look, I just can't find the map_4.dat file that I want to replace, even after having made the map already.

@Justintimefor2006 You need to go into the world folder. (Its default name is: world) Then theres a data folder. Then there should be map_4.dat. Make sure you make the maps in game. Good luck!
