It is sad that todays generation doesn't know or care about the greats like John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara and the movies they did.McLintock is one of my all time favorites out of the Wayne & O'Hara movies,a simple magic in that movie, loved by a lot of people.Hollywood will never see great stars and human beings like these again.
Directors, Producers, and Actors should take this as a friendly tip on what to add and not add on to today's movies. We could bring back the 1950,60s, and 70s more successfully than we have already.
It was said that Maureen was the only female friend of John Wayne's because as he put it "She is the greatest guy I ever met" she gave as good as she got. I'd say she was tougher than some male leads she co-starred with. That is why John & Maureen's chemistry was so electrifying on screen because they were equals never one to outshine the other, because they were both equally astounding!
I hate these you punch her she punches you type of films but Maureen thrived on it. Maureen must have loved it rough, she wasn't happy unless she was being drug by her hair or being spanked..She was a true beauty though. God bless you Maureen
This is great. Had the fun of seeing the house they used for the movie down in Az. a couple of years ago. I believe it was the same one used in "Oklahoma".
Sad to know that people and movies like this don't seem to exist anymore in Hollywood.
Hehehe, the lady totally approves of herself---and why not? She's ah-maaaazing. And she's totally right---there IS nothing better than her and Duke. :-D
Oh my gosh! What a treat!! I'm reading Duke's bio by Pilar with this, its a plus! Thank you so very very much for sharing with everyone! Stefanie is so right! Everything is just different now and you'd rarely find skills like Maureen and Duke anymore nowadays.. :D Wonderful ladies!
This is so cool! I just watched McLintock last Saturday. This is big for me as for my country doesn't seem to air my favorite actress{stef.and RJ} actor very often. Bless you my dear friend for posting this. Lots of hugs.C.
I know how you must feel. Expect Hart to Hart you can't see much of RJ or Stef in German television. And it's only much worse because in Germany I have the same problem with Julie Andrews. Thank god for the DVD ;)
I could listen to both of them for hours! And it would never get boring they have so many wonderful stories to tell. It's magic to listen when they talk.
@vangard213 i am one of the few people from this generation that grew up watching John and Maureen.

@Sam7svu I's say she was tougher then most male leads of today. Guys are wimptified today, thanks to the feminist movement.

How old is Maureen here?
She looks soo good regardless of her age.
Always classy and nice.

I believe she was about 84-85 during this interview, I could be off little, I do know she was in her 80s.. She's 89 now :-)

@CarlyIsAGangster not sure but her current age is listed as 89, and still looks good.

@CarlyIsAGangster If this was filmed in 2007, Maureen O'Hara turned 87 that year. She turns 91 this year.

@TheCampanile ,
"John Wayne, American" by Larson is the best bio on the Duke I've read.
