You took a risk in teaching this song I think, and unfortunately you fell into the trap of completely ignoring the right hand technique, which is why the song is so good. Mark makes it so complex that very few can teach it well, so you are not by any means the only one. On the up-side, your left hand is spot on :)

@vicmotogna That's the problem. Not even Mark Knopfler himself knows what the perfect effect is. He concluded something must have been broken and that it was kind of a happy accident. But I do know he used a wah pedal :)

Jam vox is about 4 years old now i can,t see them upgrading the software anymore , but it does not matter !!! Its the ultimate practice tool out there . the price is now less in the u.k £100 , even less in the states., Things you must have , jamvox plug into your laptop via usb , a comfy chair or couch, and a guitar thats it , headphones optional . Persevere with the installation of the drivers, its a pain often that not, but the rewards are mind blowing . DO IT , GET ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I have a question: what "mode"is your amplifier on? I have got a V-Tone GM108, Which has the following: a wheel for Drive (kind of how strong the distortion is) 3 wheels: High, Mid and Low (don't know what they do yet) an other wheel for master volume and 3 three way switches: 1 with: Calif. , British , Tweed 1 with: Hot , Hi Gain , Clean and 1 with: U.K. , U.S. , Flat that's it. Do you know how to but all my buttons and wheels to get the right distortion sound?
