  • I stopped watching when Ben said Darwinism was about humans coming from apes and monkeys. It's a shame what creationists say...

  • Well that was 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

  • I used to think ben stein was smart. now I'm sure; it is of course appropriate to question our accepted theories, and pursue all options in science. But I do think that Stein is probably envisioning an alien (the true, yet unknown reference to god) that planted the human seed a while ago as a 3rd grade biology experiment.

  • I just can;t listen to this anymore. It is pushing ignorance with intolerance soon to follow. Good bye Ben and Bill.

  • Ben Stein is a zionist. He wants everyone to keep believing in "god" so the jews can keep controlling everyone.

  • I love how he says "It was a great theory from the 19th century, but it's the 21st century!" clearly forgetting that his not even a theory is from the Bronze age.

  • I laugh when Bill O'Reilly says "why can't you just bring up a creator as a possible answer?" yet we all know he would shit himself if a teacher suggested that there is no god.

  • life obviously began in a mud puddle that got struck by lightning, duh.. it happened in my backyard and a dinosaur crawled out.

  • ben stein sounds smart for a complete ignoramus.

  • Stein and Reilley. A pair of undeveloped monkeys

  • My family did not evolve from monkeys, they came from Scotland! haha, on man, fox news, the only news network that needs the tag line, fair and balanced.

  • @jimmymckooel Thankfully the rest of Scotland has evolved past creationism since you've been gone.

  • @roddyc55 hey, I was cracking a joke!

  • @jimmymckooel irony is in rare supply on youtube i do apologise!!

  • @roddyc55 genuine apologies are even rarer, sir!

  • @jimmymckooel Such a graceful acceptance further so!

  • @jimmymckooel Sorry pal! :)

  • we have figured it out.... oh no a war on christmas...

  • you are stupid....

  • I like how he says the theory of evolution is an old 19th century theory.. Then says we should replace it with creationism which is over 2000 years old. Flawed reasoning on Mr Steins part

  • errr mr o'bigamist reilly. There are more then 2 views about how the world was created you fucking moron, throw yourself off a cliff please.

  • Bulshit, they want to teach christianity thats all, imagine thei uproar if someone said they wanted to teach the creation stories of Islam!

  • .....theory is hypothesis that has not been proven wrong i don't think they know that

why cant you just except that maybe god created evolution

"well that means other stuff in the bible is wrong"

you have already done that you don't believe the first testament completely and also don't follow the second completely.

  • this should be posted in r/circlejerk

  • Evolution has NOTHING to do with how life BEGAN. It merely suffices as a model to explain COMPLEXITY within organisms, through natural selection and so forth. Damn people read the shit BEFORE you disagree.

  • We came from aliens.

  • Stein doesn't even seem like he believes the shit he's spewing

  • This shit is infuriating to listen to. Creationist don't back their "theory" with anything more than lies and assertions. Evolution has been confirmed.

  • Morons.

  • Yes you are wrong and stupid

  • 0:55 "it said maybe life was created by lightning striking a puddle, that to me didn't sound convincing" yeah sure just like noah's ark getting every species of animal on his boat in a giant flood, turning people to stone, jesus's resurrection, miracles and so on, I mean seriously, lets just leave aside evolution, how stupid can you possibly be??

  • There is so much fail in this video, I don't know where to start. I suppose it could be summed up like this: Evolution != Abiogenesis

  • I find it funny that O'Reilly thinks that theologians deserve room to talk in a science class. I'm a theist, but I also know that one of the basic ideas behind science is to assume that nothing is a miracle and then to look for an explanation. Thus, we don't talk about God in a science classroom because God is outside the scope of science.

  • "You had a lot of time." LOL Yep, we've only really been looking into these things with serious rigger for less than a couple hundred years - that's plenty of time to figure out the origin of life itself. /sarcasm

  • persecuted? For god sake, you are close to getting it into the schools you fucking twats. America might call itselfe a western country, but you are dangerously close to reaching the beliefs of third world countries.

  • Science progresses by asking relevant questions, Ben.

  • @valkolakk Exactly, if we had just looked at electricity and said "God did it," we would have never progressed.

  • both of them should be removed from the gene pool, fucking sub-humans

  • @duckiesv More or less sums up whither Darwinism leads.

  • Abiogenesis is the study into how life began, evolution. Evolution explains how has transformed from earlier known life to life as we know it today. Also I thought Ben Stein was intelligent, sadly I was wrong. Abiogenesis have no theories that begin, lightning struck a mud puddle and that's the beginning of life. Christians which from where creationism spawned from are responsible for classifying the human species as apes. So ya we evolved from them. IT's been proven. Visit a museum.

  • Is it okay for me to be ticked off the most by how people keep on citing Einstein as Christian when a simple Google search will show otherwise?

  • Comment removed

  • because bill, biology is not theology. do you teach evolution at church on sunday? no you don't.

  • What a couple of dumb fucks.

  • Looks like some of these people who make a big deal and attack the idea of intelligent design need to evolve lol. Instead of chasing missing links that are nothing more than a prankster in a gorilla suit they fire someone because they feel threatened by that in which they balk and laugh at. WTF?

  • @GSPatton89 This is a beyond stupid thing to say. No one has to 'chase' missing links, they are there. The gaps are ever shrinking. Those who use god to fill these gaps are the ones who are shrinking their own god. Stop blaming science for it.

  • Comment removed

  • @GSPatton89 -I imagine they were fired for teaching something that is not part of the curriculum. They would be fired if they taught astrology in astronomy class as well. If you want ID taught in school then there is a way to do it. The peer review process is how scientific hypothesis become theories and then rapidly are introduced into curriculum and textbooks. If there is a shred of science to ID then this should not be a problem, however science does not use supernatural explanations. sry

  • @Jestlow Actually there is look up the Flood Theory and another thing called fossils and you are the one who lashed out first.

  • @GSPatton89 Fossils help lend more credibility to evolutionary theory. Evolutionary theory makes certain predictions and fossils appear exactly as predicted. Not a one of them contradicts the theory. Flood theory however is not a theory. It raises more questions than it answers and is contradictory to the evidence. In addition it makes no prediction, which is the halmark of a good scientific theory. What predictions does Flood Theory make? What evidence validates it?

  • @GSPatton89 "Besides since the planet is somehow billions of years old the monkeys at the local zoo should be in an anthropoid state already." When you say somehow this tells me that you should first look at the 'HOWS' of the age of the earth and curb your incredulity until then. Secondly, the fact that you think monkeys at the zoo should be in 'anthropoid state' shows how little you know about evolution, speciation, selection pressures, etc. Learn first, lashout later.

  • @paegun ya ok. When you're on your deathbed, you will be begging God to forgive and save you.

  • that stupid turd should stick to selling clear eyes.

  • Comment removed

  • if people ask in 2050 why america didnt exist anymore show them this video

  • Stein is right.

  • @Abr022575

    Stein is an idiot.

  • O_O what is this, i don't even..........

  • "Intelligent Design is an effort to fill in some of those gaps." There, proof ID is all about the God of the Gaps argument.

  • @itchygonads If everything did come from nothing, why doesn't something just return to nothing again? Why aren't there more big-bang like events? Why doesn't more matter, energy, ect. just appear out of nothing?

  • @itchygonads And where did matter, energy, subatomic particles, heat, or whatever else you say was there first come from? If you say science doesn't know how something came from absolutely nothing in the beginning but you will find out later, how is that different from us not knowing how God has always existed without being created? They're both religious beliefs.

  • @66GreenBaron66 Don't be absurd. Science admits it doesn't know and works on a solution. Religion pretends it does.

  • @LiberalIntervention If "science" doesn't know, it is a religious belief, not science (that goes against the definition of science). And how are my questions absurd? I suppose you can easily answer them? By believing in a god-less creation, you are taking just as much a "leap of faith" as I am. You should look up "Pascal's Wager."

  • @66GreenBaron66 pascals wager huh? apply pascals wager to any other religion aside from your own and you'll then understand why pascals wager is an immoral load of bull shit

  • What fun! An idiot interviewing a moron.

  • God is definitively self existent. That is to assert that anything is one must abide by the notion that something has always been. Then why not matter and energy? Matter and energy are physical. Matter cannot will its self into being nor is rudimentry eternal. No, the answer must be metaphysical. Mr. Aristotle even believed that there must be an unmoved mover. this simple philosophical truth coupled with new biological data and complexities screams the reality of the creator.

  • @SNAKESOAP117 If you say science doesn't know how something came from absolutely nothing in the beginning but you will find out later, how is that different from us not knowing how God has always existed without being created? They're both religious beliefs.

  • Well I am a Christian but unlike O'Reilly and Bein Stein I believe that God gave us the ability to think and to look beyond ourselfs and better ourselfs.

  • How did something come from ABSOLUTE nothingness in the first place? The only answer is God. Science doesn't have one. If everything did come from nothing, why doesn't something just return to nothing again? Why aren't there more big-bang like events? Why doesn't more matter, energy, ect. just appear out of nothing?

  • @66GreenBaron66 The only answer is god? How stupid and ignorant. Science doesnt know, therefore not only does it have to be a god, but it has to be yours? I am presuming you are christian? The bible is a laughing stock. Most proven false, and filled with immorality. Secondly who says something came from nothing? IF god apparently has always existed why cant matter? And you think the big bang was matter coming from nothing?...Look into it a bit more please.

  • Has anyone noticed that his movie went from "Expelled the Movie" in 2007, and then he renamed it to "Expelled: no intelligence allowed" in 2008

  • you know u athiest r the ignorant ones if anyone says something u dont like they become stupid i a christian will listen to people who dont agree with me and i dont call them stupid i try to find the persons point of view and not call them stupid

  • "...in the movie..." (3:35) have all the freedom you want.

  • it does....... in that mud puddle... there's lots of chemical all swirling round and reacting. and some made D.N.A.... which mutated in to cell, with additional chemical, to make cell... (life, very, very simple life, but life not the less) that make scenes, got It????

  • Persecution?? Religions have persecuted non believers and other religions for centuries!!!!!!!

  • I wish ben stien would have lost more money on his show to the point where he couldn't spread his bullshit anymore...

  • Ben Stein is such an ignoramus, I don't even know where to start. But one thing I will say is that Einstein and Darwin did NOT believe in a God, and Newton, in case anyone forget, was also an alchemist, predicted the world will end in 2060, and born in 1642.

  • LOL intelligence design fills in GAPS? DA fuck Ben Stien go to a fucking commerical on clear eyes.

If you belive in creationism is RETARDED.

  • Bueller?

  • He demonstrates his ignorance on the subject of evolution. I doubt he has even looked at anything based on EMPIRICAL evidence, molecular biology, natural selection, geology, etc, and if he has it will not be properly understood due to his religious disposition. He attributes it all to the paranormal.

He displays unbelievable ignorance in general. Scientists always question others. That is the basis of scientific research, to challenge, to test, to provide evidence...

    They both make me despair...

  • What. A. Fucking. Tool.

  • Religious thinking needs to go, it teaches people that its OK to be ignorant of reality. Thats gotta stop.

  • These two men are some of the greatest minds of modern time

  • is this a trailer for "Dumb & Dumber 3" cos although these two are stupid their not funny

  • @hawkertruffelsnout the correct spelling would be 'they're', as any elementary school child will tell you.

  • The reason you cant mention genesis in a biology classroom is because its not biology. Your freedom of speech is not affected. Nobody cares what you beleive. But they dont want you teaching this to our kids, its messed up nonsense Bill and Ben. Those who want to learn religion are free to do so. They are misrepresenting the situation. In a school they teach facts.

  • @boltenloozen How do you call them facts qhen evolution does have many gaps. they might as well not teach anything cause evolution shouldnt be considered science ! it takes even more faith to believe in evolution then it takes to believe in a higher being.

  • @FVInLPS I dont get to decide what a fact is. But yea, the gaps...........?

Is that the case for teaching genesis in public school? The faith argument?

Like i said beleive what you want, But a fact is a fact, like it or not. Sorry.

  • Ha! 55 seconds in and I can already tell this guy is a moron...

  • Why hasn't come up with a Ben Stein/O Reilly bullers day off joke yet??

  • expelled got a 10% on rotten tomatoes LOL

  • I've lost all respect for Ben Stein.

  • @EPICT0ASTER Why because he's for free speech and free religion?

  • @Kingofprinces85 Not at all.

  • @EPICT0ASTER You ever had any?

  • Relic of age of imperialism? as opposed to a relic of the bronze age

  • @blakdust3 No shit huh? So, their idea is just fill in the gap with SOMETHING even though they are admitting they don't have a clue.

  • I will never understand how this fanatic, racist and homophobic O'Reilly has his own show on tv. I mean it's 2011 people!! Be smart and think and act by yourself and not according to a thousand years old book written by people that were certainly high and out of their fucking mind.

  • @TheLSTRIKE read the bible and studied have you? expert!!

  • Notice how O'Reilly's starts out by labeling anyone who believes in evolution is a "secular progressive"? Should this really even be a discussion in 2011?

  • If you people are so smart than answer the question how did the world get here?

  • @BUDx2

The question you ask can be asked of you. Your response would be a man with a white beard? That's scientific. The Bible is a history of a people's faith, being the Jews. It is not a history book.

  • @wswalcott1 I never said it was my only point is if you dont know for a 100% fact that God doesnt exist than theres no reason to discredit it.

  • @BUDx2 Do you know for 100% fact that fairies do not exist?

  • @joe42115 Of course they do your one of them.

  • @BUDx2 There's also no reason to discredit a flying spaghetti monster.

  • @Polterguist You dont know I dont know thats the reality but to say that all this came from luck? even if you dont believe in the christian God you have to know that some higher power put all this together and if you dont your foolish.

  • @BUDx2 Uh no. It's equivocal. Saying something cannot come from luck just because it's so complex is complete rubbish. You're foolish to believe in a deity as something would have to create that deity. The eternal argument does not work here.

  • evolved by freedom of speach huh well i dont see the world evolving acctually i see more ignorant peopl than ever most peopl are poor in the world we havnt evolved

  • I used to think Ben Stein was an intelligent man.....

  • @4:24 "because there is so much fear out there in the secular community". Um... no. The fear is all on the creationist side, believing in a burning hell and the mighty wrath of god. Secular and atheist groups simply want to rely on the scientific method of understanding our universe.

  • RETARD ALERT !!!!!!!

    - Stop the BS. Name one of those scientists that were expelled.

    - And also O'Reilly the reason they cannot mentioned ID in class, is that there is no SHRED of EVIDENCE to support ID; whereas there is overwhelming evidence to support evolution

    - Religious people are being persecution. Bitch please.....

  • RETARD ALERT !!!!!!!

  • Ugh the amount of ignorance in that room is completely mind boggling.

  • (Part 2) Also, something isn't considered knowledge until after it's satisfied certain epistemological criteria. Just filling in the gaps DOESN'T satisfy the criteria. You're ignorant about something until after you've got knowledge for the thing. Consequently, if your gap filling doesn't generate knowledge, then you're still ignorant.

Bill is as ignorant as the "pinheads," except he can't admit that. He just uses placeholder "gap fillers" to cover up the ignorance.

    This should be simple...

  • *bangs head against desk*

OK, Bill, if there is no adequate explanation for something, then all that we have is ignorance. You can't just arbitrarily fill the gap. That's the fallacy known as "appeal to ignorance." You can say that there's a creator in a science class AFTER you find scientific evidence. If we can never find certain explanations, then we're just stuck with ignorance.

Besides, saying that "god did it" doesn't provide an explanation. That's doesn't answer "how" something happens.

  • These two are in denial

  • who wants to see bill o'rielly get eat by wolves?

  • NO SCIENTISTS WERE'NT SHUT DOWN FOR DARWINISM,THEY ARE SHUT DOWN FOR PROVING THE BIBLE FALSE OVER AND OVER AND BEING INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO KNOW RELIGION IS B.S (ALL RELIGIONS), how can people today in the 21st century still believe in all the fairytale b.s,...I would love to see in the case either one of these 2 guys kids drank poison by accident, would they A) Pray for them to get well or B) Take them to a doctor (IMO a real miracle healer)..I think i know what they'd do,, dont you

  • dear bill, don't be pithy when opining

    /watch?v=Thgec54yH2o

    that steampunk selves

  • This is the first time I would agree with Bill O' Reilly. Tis' also the last.

  • Bill, they don't mention these theological theories in Biology class for the same reason they don't mention Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother in Biology class.

  • @sngcoach That's sad, from a standpoint of baseline competence.

  • Ben offers up the idea that he wants teachers to be able to explore and talk about creationism in a classroom setting so that they can improve on the creationist theory. how do you do that? as far as his other argument, yes both darwin and creationism should be taught.

  • You can mention "intelligent design" in the schools...when Americans go to school on Sunday. Problem solved.

  • Scientists are fired for expressing intelligent design as a theory because it's not scientific. At all. There is zero data to support it. It doesn't even qualify as a hypothesis, because it cannot be tested. A scientist who touts it as science shouldn't keep his job, because it shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the scientific method. ID is just fine as a religious concept. There're plenty of scientists who hold ID as a religious—not scientific—belief, and they don't get fired for it.

  • its SO cute how creationists think putting the word "science" onto "creation" makes it legit.

by that logic, i can call myself Mikeybettsasaurus and i am now a dinosaur!!!

  • Even if Darwin's theory was weak (it isn't) a weak theory is better than no theory. Saying "God did it" is not an explanation no matter how much Bill O'Reilly would like you to think it is...

  • I'm surprised an intellectual blackhole didn't form and destroy humanity at this meeting of minds.

  • You know, before we discovered DNA and started mapping genomes, a person could have been a creationist, doubted evolution, and not been an ignorant moron. But now that the DNA evidence is in, the verdict is beyond a shadow of a doubt: we share a common ancestor with apes, pigs, and every other form of animal and plant life on this earth. If a juror were still holding out at this point, the judge would be within his rights to call a mistrial and draw up a new jury.

  • Difficult to believe Stein is half as dumb as he pretends to be. Stein simply doing an act to turn a buck.

  • of course ben stein is claiming that creationists are being persecuted, the favourite defense of jewish people is "we're being discriminated against" and "that's anti-semitic"

  • creationism makes no attempt to explain anything on a functional level. At least evolution is a workable theory. Being an atheist, I have no problem accepting that there might actually have been or might still be an architect, if you will. It all boils down to facts and demonstrable evidence, anything else is just blind faith and thus in nature credulous.

  • you religious tards are bad for mankind honestly, your kids go to school and get taught evolution cause IT IS FACT and then they come hoem to you or go to church and have uneducated coo coo christians telling them its a lie

maybe this is why america is so low compared to the education of other countries

  • @coltsrule5150 Hmm, If evolution is a fact, how did nothing become everything? Nothing being absolutely no matter in existence.... How can absolutely nothing become all we know today? That is the one major flaw of Darwinism, this one crucial part can't be answered for. I don't exactly understand all the aspects of Darwinism but this one part seems to have no answer that I can believe. Please Answer :D

  • @TakeDownThisChannel

It's pretty well accepted in the scientific community that the universe is expanding. Some people have theorized that at one point, it may begin to contract to the point were all matter in the universe becomes super-condensed at which point, this immense pressure can cause an intense explosion (eg. the big bang). Thus, it's not "something from nothing," but a cyclical process of reconstitution.

If god is always existed, a similar argument can be presented for the universe.

  • @TakeDownThisChannel You seem to think the Darwinian theory covers the origin of the universe. It doesn't. It only goes back as far as the origin of life on earth.

  • @TakeDownThisChannel ok science hasnt ansered that yet

doesnt mean we fit god there tho

it could be a endless ammount of reasons "why"

as many as your immagination can come up with

how does your god come from nothing?

you ask this question like it cant be and yet you believe in an immaginary being that did

  • @TakeDownThisChannel our universe could be research from a species trying to answer the samw questions that we are asking for instance

what if we are some lad experiment?

  • @TakeDownThisChannel "If evolution is a fact, how did nothing become everything? Nothing being absolutely no matter in existence.... "

What you are describing is only ONE explanation of the Big Bang--not evolution. These are two separate theories. They happen to compliment each other fairly well, but are separate nontheless. It sounds to me like you are attacking the wrong theory.

  • thanks

  • people need to stop using the word Darwinism its not an ism

  • 2 morrons...

  • Hmmm lets see...believe in something that has scientific facts to it...or an invisible sky wizard? Hmm....hmmmmm

FUCK IT BOTH, I BELIEVE IN A FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER, RAMEN!

  • OMG!! "fill in the gaps with creationism"?? wtf...that must be the stupidest idea i have ever heard

  • @mio68df Yea it might not seem like the best idea but let's be honest, Darwinism has some serious flaws and gaps that can't be accounted for, no matter how much you try to prove it. It's only natural to try to find a possible solution to account for problems which can't be definitively proven.

  • Ben Stein is a cunt. I watched his filthy documentary; it was piss in my butt hole. To persuade someone, you use arguments. The film had none, however the viewer is treated to hearing about "gaps" in the theory through the entirety of films. What gaps you may ask? Well, I don't fucking know because not one is described in the entire 97 minutes. And Boy do those minutes fly with Ben's monotone voice! Did I mention there's evidence for creationism? There is, the film said so.

  • @AbsolutesMayVary

Did it specify as to what that evidence was? Fuck no! It's probably beneficial to keep it a secret. Allow me to provide one "gap" in evolutionary theory and simultaneously inform you more so than Ben in the filthy dick film. Evolutionary theory fails to explain how life started. However, this argument is shit because the theory's purpose is not to explain how life began. That would be equivalent of saying "Fuck Newton, his theory of gravity doesn't explain how life started!"

  • these people are morons

  • Ben Stein is awesome!

  • First of all, science does not = free speech. Science is free speech, plus previous knowledge and empirical data. Second of all, the people that were "expelled" were people that cheated the peer review, which you cannot do

  • Why cant we just teach nothing in school. Oh wait, we already do.

  • I am actually speechless. Their ignorance and hypocrisy is disgusting beyond description. I think I need to go to the bathroom and puke my guts out...

  • Darwin didn't have any freedom, he ended up being a recluce pretty much, and it was these type of freaks who tried to shut him up. Can you prove life wasnt created by, lets say a giant dragon taking a crap? No, you can't. Does that make it possible? I bet if I went around pushing that theory, and then tried to get it taught to other peoples children on the basis of presenting all the theories. I would be met with some pretty harsh resistence.

  • the issue is not freedom of speach. its about facts and how you present them.. creationist just say god made it when you dont know how to answer a point... scientist can admit when they dont know and they dont force fiction or unprovable theories as fact..

  • the conversation between bill and ben the flowerpot men is so dense light bends around them

  • why dont we mention that it could be a spaghetti monster, he could have created the world.

Just because evolution is wrong, which it isn't, that does not prove creationism

  • I view creationism as a hypothesis and when you find actual testable proof then sure it can be a theory but until then STFU

  • Persecuted?! PERSECUTED?! Do you have any idea how much of your country's population rejects the theory of evolution Bill? It is and has been 45%-50% of the population! Fuck me, American news is such a crock of shit. And by the way, Evolution is a fact. Science has absolutely nothing to do with anything outside of the natural world. Keep superstitions out of the science class.

  • Good god! (no I'm not religions,l I just like to take their imaginary friends name in vain) Ben Stein is a moron. Darwin never said we evolved from apes (incidentally we are classed as apes) we evolved from creatures who were APE LIKE. No apes per se we and contemporary apes HAVE A COMMON ANCESTOR. And Darwin, in his deal about evolution, never sought to explain the ORIGIN of life, just its diversity.

  • Neither have you!? u havnt figured it out how the earth started....'oh u no god started it all"....explain how bill, did he zap lighting from his finger and bam! there was life? did he chant a spell that made us all appear...no, all u no bill he that 'god created us' with no proof or evidence, at least darwin had scientific evidence thats y ID and creationism is not in science class and never should be, its a belief, not a fact...dickhead

  • What part of seperation of church and state don't you understand Bill'O ?
