Stapp comes from a really christan family and admitted his lyrics came from his faith and family. He did atfirst deny his songs were religous based and pointed out that his songs were life based. The fact they made several albums that made it main stream while keeping it christian is impressive. Stapp comes from a really christan family and admitted his lyrics came from his faith and family. He did atfirst deny his songs were religous based and pointed out that his songs were life based. The fact they made several albums that made it main stream while keeping it christian is impressive. He has not been a role model christian threw most of his career I think the tape leaked because they're new album isn't doing to well.

From wikipedia "the band was never signed to a contemporary Christian music label, nor did it perform in Christian music venues or get any widespread regular play on Christian radio." They are a mainstream post-grunge band that is highly influenced by religion. But they do not fall under the category of "christian rock band."

I don't know that I see hypocrisy here. In the Wikipedia article, I didn't see anything suggesting that he was socially conservative, Old Testament affirming, that he claimed moral perfection or condemned unbiblical behaviours of others. Further, the article says that the band didn't really push the Christian Rock Band angle, nor did they perform at Christian events.
