Thank You very much for the video, my aunt gave me this model when it went out and she was going to trash it so I said I would store it until I could get around to trying to figure it out. Received my inverter in the mail today, purchased from sears, paid a little more ($115.00) but I could not have purchased a tv for that price. It works great hooked it up in bedroom tonight and am loving it. Thanks Again.

Thanks for the video and idea. Had the same problem with my Sylvania 32" LCD/DVD combo. Capacitors look good. Ordered the inverter board. Replaced it and it's now working.

hello i have this same tv and i looked at the inverter board and notice the fuse 4a/125 volt was blown i replaced it and pluged it in and the same thing happen again to the fuse could this be a bad inverter problem also

I have the same problem with my TV. Pulled the back off just to look at the board. 2 of the plugs are burnt where they plug into the board. Do you think I need to replace the plugs also? I can smell a burnt smell when I plug it in before it goes on standby.

I found this tv in my trash last month, and I did this repair and it work! Thanks a lot. I was able to find that single transformer though for ~$5. I went to the Sears Parts Direct website and was able to find it. It was back-ordered so it took a little longer than a month for me to get it, but it was a cheap and easy fix.

I just got a free one of these tvs in excellent condition - power surge blew the fuse. I replaced fuse on the power supply (about 80 cents at Radio Shack), hoping that no other damage had been done, and the tv fired up :-)

What a great instructional video! I don't even HAVE an Emerson, I got a Viewsonic 4:3, 21.3 inch. Upon power-up, screen stays on for about 1 sec. Using this video I was able to take the Viewsonic's back off, locate and remove the faulty inversion board. Now all I have to do is order the correct replacement board and I should be in business. These monitors were like $800~$1000 in their day, used by professionals, often multiple units. I'll post again after the part is replaced.Fingers crossed

my son threw a pencil at my Emerson 32" tv and it showed a colorburst and then the screen went black. Since then when I turn the power button on it just goes from the green light to the red light and nothing happens. The screen stays black so I don't know if it's on or not. Do u think this can b the converter too?

So I have a KDS 19' Rad-9 LCD computer monitor, and one day the screen didn't turn on. It would still turn on and show up on other computers I hooked it up to, but it was just always black screen. So I took it apart, and shined a light where the back lights are, and I could see an image. I have two backlights, each with two florescenty tubes, so I doubt they all broke at the same time.... Its the inverter board right? Do I need a new one of that exact kind?

Hey chief thanks for the info,I have been trying to find a board for a sylvania model L320358 for about an hour.nobody seems to recognize the number I got off the board#ba71f001042 but thats it,the one your playing with.mine worked fine untill we had a lightning strike right outside,then when I shut it off about 2 hours latter it wouldnt come back on.I thought is was the lightning but mabey it was ready to self destruct.we have had it about a year and half.bought it used and put many hours on it

@bdawg394 I repaired a TV at work with the same problem. It was a 42" LG LCD. It ended up being a bad video board. quick and easy fix for that brand. Not sure how easy it would be for a smaller monitor like that, or how hard the parts are to find. I get most my parts off eBay. I wouldnt spend to much considering you can find a new 22" on newegg for about $140. hope this helps!

my 32" emerson would be kool to use with my laptop. I can't find a cable to go from my usb to the adapter on the tv. can you send me in the right direction and maybe i can get rid of my cable bill. thanks dennis

@dennistredden it really depends on what kind of video output you have on your laptop. if you have s-video, hdmi, or dvi out then you can get any of those cable at walmart. if all you have is vga out then check your tv to see if it has a vga input. hope this helps. thanks for posting!

Hey I have a Samgsung LCD Flat Screen. Its like 40inches. And there is a thick black line going right through the middle. I can see whats on the other sides of the screen. But not the middle. Any thoughts?

I don't think its the Display board as they were mean't to work for 20 years.

He did have that model but is still sold out. the good news is that he will be offering a few parts that may help fix the board. he did mention that he thought it was better to replace the whole board because of the lack of quality but thought this would be a good solution until they are available again. when he get these parts in i'll do another video. thanks!
