Due to a lot circumstances it's still a place I do not want to be. I've created to many memories here and it feels very absent here. BUT this place will always be my home, and I miss it when I do leave. But I love to travel. New Orleans will continue to be a staple to me and my life.

First of all i'm so sorry that your life was affected by this tragedy and that you lost people who you loved. I will never forget the images on the news channels over here in the UK of people on rooftops praying for rescue. You are an amazing person, and you were clearly raised really well as a child. @NancyToday Well it was in my aunt's house. She died, as well as her cats. A lot people died slowly. Another aunt was trapped in her attic for 2 weeks, with her bones being soaked up in the water. She was 74 at the time. But she made it, but not too long afterward she passed away, because the condition got to her. SO I lost a couple of family members but a HOST of friends. But God has blessed me down through the years! :)

PT.2: I had a hurricane experience once which seemed like a horrible thing but over time I saw that many blessings would not have come my way if certain things that appeared bad at the time hadn't happened. I'm also sorry for the people in Pakistan who have suffered in the floods, and many other ppl in the World who suffer in different tradegies.. Hurricane Katrina was an experience in itself, I did not lose life or a love one, but I did lost a lot of material things, and parts of my home was under water. There are many lesson to learn from Katrina. We learn not to trust the insurance companies, and we learn to not put your faith in the Government

I left my home on the Sat. before the storm, and came back fifth teen months later. To a death trap of a trailer, but was happy to be in some thing to start building my life and home back again..yes, I had to fight with my insurance co. to get the monies I had been paying for the last 16 years. Yes, FINA was a joke, I never got any money from them, the road home program have me the money to rebuild my home.
@zoelynnkendrick wow! For you to come back so many months after the fact, I'm sure much of what you saw has been a trap. I remember living in the trailer for a long time! What a life that was! I was happy as well! Because it was an awesome experince rebuilding with my grandfather each summer! We did fight the insurance companies a lot! They did joke around but at the end of the road we rebuilt everything! So this is what satisfies us in the long run! :)
You have such strength and character.I wondered many times ,how, such a young man of 18 could have such deep insight and love for his fellow man and now this explains it. Having to face tragedy and loss at 13, or any age makes you appreciate life and everyone in it. I understand about the loss you have been through and how it changes you. Loss brings families, friends and strangers together and you realize what is really important in life. I have my own opinions on how the aftermath was handled in Katrina but that's another conversation. God Bless you Jesse. In 1997 there was a flood from the South Dakota border all the way up into Canada, the Red River Valley was completely underwater for miles and miles. That is where I still live today. It took about 10 years for this area to completely recover physically. Emotionally, it stays with you forever. We watched our entire community, including our daughters and grandaughter lose all of their possessions but we didn't lose them and that's all that matters.

Hurricane Katrina was an experience in itself, I did not lose life or a love one, but I did lost a lot of material things, and parts of my home was under water. There are many lesson to learn from Katrina. We learn not to trust the insurance companies, and we learn to not put your faith in the Government

part 3 I am grateful for the people who help me in Texas, I made some dear friends there.
Never lost sight on the fact that God was with me, and I had faith he would bring me through all of this. I am in my new home and very happy, I can go to church and lift him up in Praise…thank you for sharing your views on Katrina, and here is mine.

I left my home on the Sat. before the storm, and came back fifth teen months later. To a death trap of a trailer, but was happy to be in some thing to start building my life and home back again..yes, I had to fight with my insurance co. to get the monies I had been paying for the last 16 years. Yes, FINA was a joke, I never got any money from them, the road home program have me the money to rebuild my home.

@zoelynnkendrick wow! For you to come back so many months after the fact, I'm sure much of what you saw has been a trap. I remember living in the trailer for a long time! What a life that was! I was happy as well! Because it was an awesome experince rebuilding with my grandfather each summer! We did fight the insurance companies a lot! They did joke around but at the end of the road we rebuilt everything! So this is what satisfies us in the long run! :)

You have such strength and character.I wondered many times ,how, such a young man of 18 could have such deep insight and love for his fellow man and now this explains it. Having to face tragedy and loss at 13, or any age makes you appreciate life and everyone in it. I understand about the loss you have been through and how it changes you. Loss brings families, friends and strangers together and you realize what is really important in life. I have my own opinions on how the aftermath was handled in Katrina but that's another conversation. God Bless you Jesse. In 1997 there was a flood from the South Dakota border all the way up into Canada, the Red River Valley was completely underwater for miles and miles. That is where I still live today. It took about 10 years for this area to completely recover physically. Emotionally, it stays with you forever. We watched our entire community, including our daughters and grandaughter lose all of their possessions but we didn't lose them and that's all that matters.

To loose all of the above is an unthinkable tragedy and further to be uprooted from a community so rich in heritage that one just can't understand not from this area. This video made me very sad but it also made me happy, because it shows me that the human race is very strong even when they loose something . Your video shows me that material things doesnt really matter and that there are other things that are more important in life.You really have to live as if this was your last day on earth, because you never know what may happen.
