InDesign is pretty much the same as Photoshop except it's quality is a bit better (assuming you use 300dpi in PS) and it works with other programs like Microsoft....right? Better to make magazines and whatnot...you can do the same in PS but PS requires a bit more effort, yes?

@damaged2 No. in photoshop you can literally edit raster based pictures, like removing or placing objects, change hair color, remove pimples or highlight certain parts etc.

Well you might be able to do some of raster based image editing you're not even close to the abilites of photoshop.

Indesign is used to put all text, picture and color in one piece, so you get the picture from photoshop and the text from office and then you put it in the way you want and you got your cataloege side. got it?

@damaged2 Well you see, there are all those lines on the screen? Those are points you look out for to better place your text properly and at the right place that the site for example is exactly at the right point. With this tool you can also resize in any way you want. You are not pinned to the standard formats of office and stuff plus, it's much easier that way.

You can also say photoshop and lightroom are the same just lightroom can do less, sure that's true you can do almost anything with

@damaged2 photoshop what you can do with lightroom. But lightroom is just aimed for normal photographers who just wanna change the lightning a little bit, lighroom is much easier and process those action little bit better and keeps you in reasonable range. Meanwhile in photoshop you can destroy your whole picture or over edit it and the light can easily turn out not as wished. Lighroom is more aimed at the lightning stuff and is more precise.

The only way it can destroy your whole picture is if you don't even know what your doing.

Not only so, but you can always Ctrl+z.

Indesign does a hell of a lot better job organizing.

It's like a trade off. Best not to stick with just one program though.

Edit first, then organize.
