You know you can make the scenes go by them selves right? Meaning you don't need to push A after each sentence. Just go to Options and turn Auto-Advance on.

No, they're not connected. Persona 4 takes place after Persona 3 and as such you'll have a few references to old characters from P3 at times, but otherwise it's not part of a branching story or anything.

Don't let the Persona 1 & the 2's being out dated stop you from playing. 1 is really fun even though the story is quite weak.

The 2's however are quite excelent. Especially P2: Innocent Sins. Even if you can only play a rom of it. it is way worth.

Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that the voice actors put the emphasis on the second syllable of the Japanese names instead of the first like they should?

After watching the intro video you made, I got Revelations Persona and it is VERY different. I would've got Persona 3 but I don't like to start in the middle of a series, even if they have nothing to do with each other.

@XxRaoxX mm, I watched a short video about that game on Giant Bomb and it was pretty weird seeing where the franchise had gone since then.

Either way, if you have a PSP you should probably get the portable version of this game when it comes out... I think it's in July? I think some of the cutscenes aren't so good since they don't feature a lot of the changing camera angles or the actual 3D character models, but the new features seem to make up for that.
