  • M0:00RE ;D

  • WOW thats fast!

  • hey, a hundred years ago we had kitty hawk and the wright brothers. Now look at what we have. 747s, supersonic jets, helicopters, and space shuttles.

  • Uggh i can imagine getting hit by one of those

  • Once we have a train system that can match overall speed with airliners, then we can make electric trains work all over the world. Give it time, and it'll happen.

  • @milesmouse72 You're going to have to build some quite hilariously long bridges or tunnels aren't you?

  • @milesmouse72 Eh. Given the time wasted at airports, you don't even need trains going that fast. Then again, the shorter the flight, the more of an issue that is. (And if Eurostar services are anything to go by, some of the security stuff holding up flights will end up applying to trains as well. - at least, if they run internationally.)

  • Interesting they mention that South Korea is the only one to have brought TGV-type trains. What about the AVE S/100, they're TGV's, right?.

  • push number 1 :D

  • What if a deer decided to graze on the tracks, what would it look like afterward?

  • @e081194eng there are fences on both sides of the track to prevent that from happening

  • What if a large wild animal was on the tracks?

  • @crocfme it wont be there after the train :D

  • TGV is present technology.

MAGLEV is the future. Maybe in 2500 all trains will be MAGLEV;p

  • @Xarras94 like ur comment try little sooner than that i think in 2020s and 2050s all trains will be hovercraft no wheels any more year 2500 is long long long time away u me be dead buddy wish i live that long can imagine trillions of things for real can happen including trains

  • @mquiroz90 But you are thinking about Japan, USA or France??? I think in 2050s is not enough for other countries to make that far.

2500= all trains(even in africa) will be MAGLEV ;p

  • @Xarras94 who knows tho wat the future holds for the trains im just titled in my opinion this is your opinion right wat if the trains around did became maglev in 2030 or 2050

  • What the knife for?

  • Lol at the top rated comment that says "Don't compare the TGV technology with the MAGLEV" and then proceeds to compare TGV with MAGLEV... XD

  • Comment removed

  • @laurenfan4 Acela reaches 150 mph for a few minutes only. It is not a real HSR service, averaging only 80mph.

  • As i herd there is a new faster train with the same technology as TGV it is again french and it is faster it's name is AGV.

  • @alexander1ninenine6 No they are not faster at all.

  • @UraeusAnkhAmon how fast is the tgv like up to 299 mph or 307 mph

  • @laurenfan4 Why should it be 'profitable'. The rails are public infrastructure, like bridges, roads and tunnels on interstates. How 'profitable' are those in the US? Why use a different standard for public rail infrastructure. Build the HS lines and then open up services under strict regulation, as in Europe....

  • imagine tgv trains in new york

  • @jonathan171677 Yeah then boosting the death rate from 60 a day to 100 a day, good idea.

  • Chuck Norris gave it a kick start...

  • This thing would get me to Holyhead in no time. Insted I suffer a super voyager that would be better off chuffing down the branch line. Peep, peep!

  • Americans don't need to invest into proper trains since they are so petrol greedy needed for their train-sized trucks they use

  • @laurenfan4: oooooohhhhh wow! Amtrak ONLY has the northeast corridor where the trains that CAN run 150mph never does because the track and overhead aren't capable of it due to age.

Meanwhile all over Europe - INCLUDING RUSSIA - Japan, China and soon India there are highspeed service covering the whole countries and they operate to speeds well in the excess of 200mph.

When you get older and learn about REALITY get back with us.

  • The construction of the linear motor car is advanced in Japan now. The linear motor car of Japan seems to float by about 10cm while the linear motor car of Shanghai floats by 1cm. The riding comfort of the linear motor car to say nothing of the speed might be also the highest.

  • However, japanese Shinkansen accurately get to one's destination with an error of less than 1 minute. In addition, shinnkansen has started to putting for about ten minutes between Tokyo Osaka including the local train. It is a reason why this cannot also do the speedup.

  • I think that this speed is certainly terrible. However, it is probrem in safety that the TGV do't actually run this speed. I think that there is a technology that Shinkansen of Japan also puts on the speed of this. But, geographical features in Japan contains the mountain and a lot of rivers, etc. unlike smooth geographical features in France. Owing to a lot of tunnels and bridges, it is said to be dangerous that shinkansen can't run over 310km/h.

  • @mhiro75sentai It's more a problem of costs. The TGV runs at 300-320kph in commercial use. A faster speed would increase power consumption and fatigue materials faster so the ticket price rise.

The geography of France isn't smooth at all, but most of the TGV tracks built for 30years were studied in smooth regions but still have a lot of viaducs (search "tgv viaduc" on google img). Main moutains obstacles are the Massif Central, the Alpes (to Italy) and the Pyrenees (to spain).

  • But for sure, in Japan you face to a more difficult geography as your country is smaller, more urbanized and extended on several islands.

  • @mhiro75sentai So you say 574.87 km/h is terrible it's halv the speed of a comercial plane. Oh yes france is NOT smooth it has the Alpes, Provence and other large mountain chains.

  • There already is one in America, deep underground for the gov.

  • Morocco has ordered TGVs as well

  • It would be AWESOME if all trains would be that fast in future, so driving from here to my 2nd home town (north-eastern Italy - eastern Serbia), which is 1200km away, would only take 2 hours. Now I need like 15 hours by car and 23 hours with train (because the rail connection isn't that good).

Then trains would be way more used than cars

  • Thats nothing here in America we have an Amtrack that reaches nearly 60 MPH, while you watch your drink shake off the table and makes 30 stops along the coast. Eh lets not worry about any infrastructure improvements, just keep on droping bombs in the sand. go to costofwar unreal

  • @46Mongoose slow lol

  • Pantograph does not approve

  • 鉄道でこのスピードは無理があるんじゃないかな?

  • he use speedhack what a noob

  • how come they didn't mention chinese high speed train

  • @unknown827 Because the Chinese don't have any of their own. They just bougth and cloned the French, Japanese and German trains. Plus, this record was set in June 2007, before any major Chinese deployments of European and Japanese trains on their territory. However, credit to the Chinese for recognizing the strategic significance of HSR!

  • @unknown827 You mean the one they COPIED from France.

  • 速いのはいいことだが、さすがに500km以上の速度だと、危険や恐怖を感じる。

  • AWESOME

  • "Outside France only South Korea has bought these trains". So what about Spain (AVE) and Belgium (Thalys)? Great research, EuroNews!

  • @catrachocolo Well the AVE is Siemens' ICE 3MF and The Thalys is the Alstom Thalys PBKA/PBA.

  • @UraeusAnkhAmon What is your point? What do you think the Alstom TGV Thalys PBKA/PBA are? I'll give you a hint: They are TGV Réseau trains. Which is why it says TGV in their type designation.

And for your information, AVE operates a fleet of 24 S-100 trains, which are nothing more than slightly modified TGV Atlantiques. So, we have Spain, Belgium, and even the Netherlands and Germany operating trains based on the TGV design. Not just South Korea. So, once again, great research, EuroNews!

  • @catrachocolo You still don't have a point and about the AVE that's my bad. But this is the TGV Duplex. And I would like to say that the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany ALL USE the SAME TRAIN. Even if they are slightly modified then they are NOT the SAME train (AVE).

  • @UraeusAnkhAmon EuroNews is not talking about the Duplex. They are talking about the TGV and its developments in general, otherwise they wouldn't even mention South Korea. And if they mention Korea's KTX they have to mention Spains S-100 trains and Thalys' trains as well. Which they don't. Either mention all customer countries or don't mention them at all.

  • And by the way: Thalys' trains are not owned by the company itself but by other train companies. For the PBKA: Germany (DB) owns 2, the Netherlands (NS) 2, France (SNCF) 6 and Belgium (SNCB) 7. So, in EuroNews-language: Germany has bought the TGV, the Netherlands have bought the TGV and so has Belgium. Same thing as above: Either mention all customer countries or don't mention them at all.

  • @catrachocolo I think that EuroNews were talking about this articuler, not other TGVs.

  • @UraeusAnkhAmon No, they are not. They are talking about the TGV in general. Otherwise there would be no reason to mention South Korea as a customer.

  • @catrachocolo So are you sure that the other countries bought them and not just lended them?

  • im surprised you're allowed to stand above it. What if someone were to drop something like a bowling ball? D:

  • CRAZY ! DON'T DO THIS CRAP AGAIN ! WHAT'S THE NEXT ?? 600KM/H ??? TILL EVERYBODY DIE ????

  • THAT IS FUCKING FAST for rail i don't think people appreciate how impossibly hard it is to keep a train that heavy that fast safely on rails

  • Wow, I wouldn't trust a train on wheels going that fast. I like the Japanese design much better. Floating on magnets is a lot better.

  • @Silentsam7532 But more expensive. I like the idea of floating on magnets too, but today i don't think it can works commercially, maybe in the future.

  • @xenotypos The main costs are just for building tracks. We could have said that trains were no good as well and never bothered building those tracks.

  • @Silentsam7532 I was talking about versatility.

SuperBunkerbuster's post two weeks ago explain well why tgv tracks are, today, better in a practical way. The cost "just for the tracks" is already huge and there are other trains too.

But again i think it has some potential for the future.

  • pff big deal !! Chuck Norris can drive a Steam train faster than that -_-

  • Don't compare the TGV technology with the MAGLEV.

Sure the maglev is fastest but the TGV is more affordable and more versatile. It can travel also on regular rail lines, of course not so fast than on "LGVs", TGV's special rail lines.

MAGLEV lines are very difficult and expensive to build (no railroad crossing, hard-to-build railroad switches) and, in case of failure, could not be easily helped ; electrical failure on a TGV line ? No problem, a diesel locomotive comes to push/pull the train.

  • danger

  • Imagine a rabbit on the rails ! xDDDDDD

  • would hope they dont have rail crossings.. instead use bridges much safer (H)

  • @David20931 That's how it is done. On high speed tracks you don't have any crossings and you have fences along the track to avoid collison with animals.

  • @johannes914 oh no crossings? how do cars get over the track :S

  • @David20931 With that incredible, brand new invention called a viaduct...Amazing, isn't it?

  • @David20931 You don't

  • @johannes914 Sorry Johannes I was answering that dumbass David20931

  • Giihhvvbbvbbb mmm c

  • I wonder how would a crash look like.

  • this train will made an accident with cow on june 02 2011.

  • this train will made an accident with cow on june 02 2011

  • Sonic train xD

  • ....360mph is too fast...sorry...if that shit crashes NO ONE will survive!

  • @Fourteen88SoCal: you mean kinda like when an airplane plunges to the earth.

  • @lukebccb exactly! lol

  • it's just like the blink of a second and it passed!!! imagine you were standing on that bridge throwing down a rock xD

  • thats a chuck norris train.

  • Made in France.

    Only the best !

  • @edcenation best? lol XD

  • SONIC BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

  • Fastest train is the japanese MAGLEV not this!!

    MAGLEV runs at 581 Km/h!!!!!

  • @LloydHopkins74 this is the fastest common train (going on rail) now they thing they will pass 600 km/h with the AGV (do some researches ? )

  • this thing is FF (fucking fast)

  • Put a coin on the track and watch the train take off.

  • The fastest train I get to see here in NJ (the USA at this moment) is the Acela Express. Its prettty fast... But this is fucken fast!

  • The Japanese Maglev is a completely different kind of transportation, it is not consicered as a typical railway. The TGV POS belongs to the "typical railway" family, so the true train speed record is SNCF's 574,8 km/h (the other category is the speed record for a classic locomotive + wagons - here we have german Siemens Taurus and 357 km/h).

  • This is a moving istant death :P

    [DONT JUMP BEFORE THIS TRAIN!]

  • Why don't they put wings on it and just let it fly?

  • WTF one second and it was away from the bridge

  • damn I want this for christmas, roll at least with 200km/h from madrid to london

  • what happens if you jump out the back of the train?

  • @matthewrockslol22 Probably same thing that happened to the chicken.

  • @matthewrockslol22 You slow down very quickly.

  • Comment removed

  • @matthewrockslol22 I think Id bottle it too.

  • woo hoo hooo hooo hoooooooo

  • kurwa on pewnie stojąc w miejscu jest szybszy niż polskie pociągi

  • Actually RENFE,ACELA,KTX,THALYS are all tgv trains

  • impression for crazy speed.

  • mm if its french it will go on strike and go no where, and then surrender,,,,

  • @5150martin

U WISH!...Don't you never tell me that you Brits never got on strike.Don't you remember "good old" Thatcher years ????LMFAO....

  • and put stone on a rail xD

  • the TGV Is a Lamborgini of a train, the Maglev is a Ferrari of a train, and the ICE is a Mercedies SL class, but here in America, Amtrak trains, Ford Pinto, Greyhound Bus Bicycles, although we have the Acela in the north east Acela, Chevy Camaro Z71

  • Current commercial speed for ICE, tgv and shinkansen is limited by the cost needed to overcome technical issues at speed over 300km/h.

That is why the maximum commercial speed has slowly increasing from 300 to 340km/h on the past 20 years in France.

And the noise of the train due to the flow of the air on the train become very high at this speed.

Current TGV in france is a result of a choice between speed, cost and prices.

I cannot explain more,I'm not good enough in English.

  • cena biletów też musi być zawrotna proporcjonalnie do prędkości :D

  • yep wonderful technology built in a country where technology is appreciated and used to bad it can't happen across the world for the sake of the environment alone, too much ridiculous debate to support very wasteful automobile industry convention very sad

  • Why are there so many comments about derailment, as if it were worse or more likely than a plane crash?

  • NY - Chicago: 4 hours

    LA - SF: 1hr40mins

    Coast to Coast: 14 hours!

Oh, I forgot. We live in a country where oil companies, the airlines, and congressmen and senators from the Deep South can block anything this sensible.

  • @bluerailroad Sadly, that is true

  • @bluerailroad MHM , I mean GOD FORBID they ACTUALLY do something to HELP the citizens, instead of fattening their wallet.

  • @bluerailroad vote democrat- though they might mean nothing when comes to this brilliance

  • @bluerailroad coast mto cost will take only 4 hours... planes take 6 hours (including the airport fusss and getting to them... maybe even more).

But to be honest I Fucking hate western europe, I'm gonna miss the high speed train network for sure... but Its well worth leaving the by facist ruled European parlament. Canada HERE I COME.

  • @sonicfan7

i think EU are more socialist and multiculturalist then fascist...

  • @sonicfan7 What do you mean you HATE western Europe.

  • In the meantime us stupid Americans just continue debating about whether or not to even build hsr: this when the era of cheap plentiful oil is over.

  • @lukebccb the US currently can't afford a maglev train. With a debt of over 12 trillion dollars. Except if the US stops its military expenditure and quit taxing more US citizens to send more troops abroad. Even if the US did stop they will have many issues to tackle with, before thinking about anything called maglev. In tthe US today, less money is used on research while more money gets wasted pointlessly meaning that US techology will not be able to meet up with ASIA and Europe in the future.

  • @RobertsDigital: Doesn't even need to be maglev. HSR is now off the shelf. The French and Germans have the technology and industry existing for HSR locomotives/trains. You can just buy the coaches/locomotives/trains "off the shelf" from those 2 places. The major cost is building the trackway necessary for HSR.

The Chinese and the Russians (THE RUSSIANS!) are doing exactly that: they're buying the ready-to-go trains from the French or Germans and only need take care of the tracks.

  • @lukebccb Did you say russia? There are trains in Russia? No offence but I didn't know that....

  • @RobertsDigital: Welcome to the rest of the world outside of the insular closed-minds of the united states and americans.....

  • @lukebccb You are a champion!! I love people who aren't afraid of those tyrants which are the USA. Apparently they have trademarked democracy and placed jesus on the holy cross as the logo. Fuck the USA, ignore the US government. The people of the USA are strong for coping with such a tyrannical system. I just wish that the supporters of this system eventually realise that their system is nothing but a cul de sac. One that only benefits a minor few who set it up in the first place.

  • @RobertsDigital: but it won't matter as HSR actually means *thinking.thru. a.process"....... which simply is outside the possibilities of americans.

  • @RobertsDigital Could it be because of terrorist threats US government doesn't want fast trains which would definitely attract huge number of people? It would be impossible to protect if from possible attacks. And oil lobby of course... Probably both?

  • @paulius360

if this were to crash .... Conductor: Next stop the moon

  • @Trainzaremylife

Where is the difference to an aircraft accident?

Bullet trains in France and Germany had their crashes, yes.

We Germans had even one major one years ago.

    Again:

Why all the time the mentioning of a crash of such a high speed train and at the same time ignoring all the aircraft crashes around the world every year?

Trains (included the Bullet Trains) have the reputation to be the most secure way of traveling.

But in this thread is a constant mentioning of train crashes.

  • imagine all the frog legs and baguettes flying around if this one crashed

  • 海外は、面積が広いからいいなぁ~

    でもすごい揺れそう。

  • I would hate to see the devistation caused by a derailment of this train. If it derailed in a town, it would wipe it out!

  • Dont stick your arm out off the window :P

  • like.....how does it feel to be in one of those.

  • @MldnightCIub I use the TGV every summer since five years, and I can say that you feel like if you are entering in an other dimension ! You discover an other physical time ! It's a very strange (and great !) sensation !!! And drinking a glass of red wine at the bar while watching the french grapes plantations when you're near Bordeaux, coming from Paris is always a great memory ;) (Sorry for my awful english....)

  • @imperator2403 wow! its sounds amazing! (aha. your English is fine...) :)

  • I love travelling by train more than any other form of transport..

  • France is greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't try to train surf XD

  • das ist echt gruselig. Wenn du das Ding nicht kommen siehst hörst dus, und bevor du gucken kannst was das war ist es schon weg o.Ö

  • Bugatti Veyron, TGV, Concorde... we love speed

  • imagine getting hit by one :P

  • How can it stay on the track at that speed?

  • @brobinson75

A train could never go over 600 km/h, physics won't allow it ; any speed under 600 km/h is possible :)

  • @Guildou no i calculate the figure to be 605 km/h

  • @katochnr

Ok ! On conventionnal rails, impossible to go faster :)

  • @Guildou why?

  • @catraboy3

Because physics laws make it impossible, over 600 km/h a train won't stay on conventional rails like TGV.

  • @catraboy3 after 600 km/h the train become a plane

  • @sharx013 Some sheeps..sorry, "people" still think there is a god somewhere (maybe on the moon) lol! Brainwashed dumbasses believers xD.

  • @akhfaoif But Maglev trains are inefficients, they need alot more energy to move (as of now) and they cost much more than classical trains.

  • spanish bought the tgv

  • ¡¡¡ Increible !!!

  • @bronimex

The Japanese Maglev test train hit 581kmph....

  • Imagine a train crash with two of these trains driving at 574km/h into each other. That would be a crash with 1148km/h of speed..

  • True or False?

The driver set the train at that speed because he was drunk.

    Answer: TRUE!!!

  • @RandomStuff1O1 That is really RandomStuff dude :)

  • imagine if a cow wondered onto the track and got hit by this thing at full bore.

  • @spenceronni7 ready burgers !

  • Nothing, but why do you go out of your way to defend Islam? If the tables were turned, would you defend Christianity?

  • @Krasoslav Please do some research on rail interoperability, leverage of existing network investments and engineering logistics. Not only are traditional rails much more flexible and economically viable, but the TGV operates at pretty much the same top speed as the Maglev record: 574.8 vs 581. Now THAT is impressive!

  • @Krasoslav Maglev cost much more than railroads... Dumbass -_-
