Let's keep this in perspective people. It was Lindsey Buckingham who announced (at the eleventh hour) that he was quitting the band and not participating on the "Tango In The Night" tour. To say it left the band in a VERY awkward position is an understatement

On extremely short notice, the group hired two newbies who were drafted into the Mac immediately. Given the circumstances, they did a fine job. Granted, neither were Lindsey Buckingham but they were good. So ease up on the hate folks!.....

This was in December of 87'. Stevie was having a battle with Eppstein-Barr virus, (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I think it shows a bit. It sucks that Lindsey is not in it.

Although, I think it is a pretty decent performance.

part of the reason this performance is a bit lacking which nobody has mentioned yet is this was the time of Stevie's bad addictions... they had to dub in a lot of glossed up images of Stevie...the close-ups are NOT live at all.. watch closely her face looks totally different... 4:39 shows quite a different face.... probably even the vocals were overdubbed after, it doesn't really sound all that live...

There is no Fleetwood Mac without Buckingham. Same goes for for Stevie. The jokers in this video, together, couldn't make their voices half as powerfull as LB's is. Thank God he's back in the band!

And if one is different to other it´s clear that somebody would like that better and the other one that second like. It´s really difficult to understand that? Lindsey may not be as "technical" as Vito, but I assure you he does not need a ghost. If that is the case then who was Vito's ghost. I guess there is a ghost on the live acoustic versions of Big Love, Go Insane, or I'm So Afraid. If I was a ghost for FM when Lindsey plays with them, I would lie and say I played his parts as well, because many people are jealous of those who are great.

Something else that is interesting is that Rick Vito, Mick Fleetwood & often John McVie have a good time band together - Island Rumours. It's a lot of fun to listen to and to watch. Music that has you wanting to grab a bottle and head of to the beach with friends.

I guess the remaining members of FM chose Billy Burnett & Rick Vito to replace LB after he left because they respected their abilities. RV does a technically great job here. The guitar treatment is different from each other & is superb in each case. RV is a Journeyman player who can skillfully play what is required in any musical situation -- that aint easy to do. LB plays from very strong and often tortured emotions that accompany the songs he has himself written - very soulful.
