@pieceofparadox Yes, but we aren't as powerful as these monsters. They may kill a lot of people, but they are still animals. I love them so much, that I even wish I was a crocodile :). And I am actually kind of dissapointed that I am a human :(.
PREY!!!! I am a very positive thinker, I like animals, so I hate to hear when humans are the main threat. Crocodiles are very cool, badass monsters that happen to be a very significant group of reptiles excluding a few species (Cuban Crocodile, Indian Gharial, etc). I love crocodiles so much (same with all of the other reptiles), that I even wish I was a crocodile. I am actually kind of disappointed that I am a human.
@pieceofparadox Most people don't. Even look at the youtube comments, theres a visible minority who deems them monster in need of eradication because thier scared of what they know nothing about.
A defensive attack is like when a dog attacks you because it feels cornered - it doesn't really want to attack you, but it thinks it needs to in order to protect itself. An aggressive attack, on the other hand, happens because it wants to attack you. There's often a distinct difference in strategy because the attacker has different goals.
I understand what it means, I'm just criticising the sensationalist word choice and all around tone of this program. There's nothing intrinsically frightening or offensive about defending yourself from harm, so I think "attack" is unecessary.
Well you may be right about other parts of the clip, but that particular word choice is standard among those who study animal behavior, including these guys. It's a matter of precision, not sensationalism.
Well, I'm studying animal behavior right now, so I know a little more about this than any person should know. :S If it helps, I promise to forget it all after the final.
Sorry009: As someone who's spent most of his 55 years of life around gators (born & raised around the swamps of the gulf coast & central Florida) I can confirm Avalikia's statement.
That was a defensive move on the croc's part. It was an open-mouthed hit to the side of the kayak without latching on. If it attacked offensively it would have either grabbed the kayak or the dummy inside it and would not have let go. I've witnessed this with gators, especially with big bulls during mating season.
Thats Animal Cruelty! (not in the extreme sense but how would you like it if people threw foam balls at you all day until you snaped? I bet you would be pretty annoyed and fight back right?
as you said we could kill all of them it sounded like you would like to kill all of them! and there are ppl who protect them but if a crocodile kills a human other humans kill the crocodile as revenge... this isnt necessary!! how i said its not sooooo a drama if a human dies
get the fuck back in the kitchen, woman, you dont know what the fuck your talking about. If you care that much go join PETA like the rest of you animal-pacifist faggots.

"...In a defensive attack..."
What the hell is a defensive attack? That's some silly word choice right there.

Hmm, I find that a little dubious, but as no particular expert in zoological terminology I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Well then, I'm comfortable conceding on this point, though I do cry foul on the obviously excessive information you possess in the subject.
...Seriously though, that's an interesting fact, I'll be sure to remember it.
