The Emancipation Proclamation in all truth was a ploy. A measure taken by the Lincoln and Steward to ascend the Northern cause into one that would be considered sanctified. If I were to take it upon myself to see it from the Union's point of view, then I would have to examine the actions of everything that Union stood for, before and after the War. Killing Indians, raping villages, starving whole countrysides in Georgia is not a Union that appears to be concerned with the fate of the black man.
The South wasn't as interested in industry and expansion. The Republican North had the higher population, thus they had the vote and subsequently determined the legislative power in the country. Hence the North controlled the Army.
The War against the Western Natives was staged by the Federal Government and it was Federal Armies that fought for and guarded the construction of the Trans Continental Railroad, which was built atop conquered Native territory.
Most Native Americans preferred the Confederacy over the Union. The North had more desire to pursue Manifest Destiny. If I were to take it upon myself to see it from the Union's point of view, then I would have to examine the actions of everything that Union stood for, before and after the War. The South wasn't as interested in industry and expansion. The Republican North had the higher population, thus they had the vote and subsequently determined the legislative power in the country. Hence the North controlled the Army.
The War against the Western Natives was staged by the Federal Government and it was Federal Armies that fought for and guarded the construction of the Trans Continental Railroad, which was built atop conquered Native territory.
