  • been done before. it was called deja vu

  • @BRm2008 no not at all this is much more complicated, smart, better written, and better acted (for the most part) than deja vu

  • What I didn't quite understand was how he could connect to this specific persons head/mind. I would've gotten this if they'd shown his body somewhere in addition to ze hero's body.

  • Just watched this tonight. Blew my mind

  • Wait, I saw the movie, you didn't spoil anything. What did you spoil?

  • @narudude1994 thats what i thought o.o

  • Mr Roeper why are you alone? Weren't you together with Roger Ebert? Is he retired?

  • @TheSunmanho ebert got cancer. he uses a computer to talk now. so now he doesn't do tv, but he still writes.

  • @DaHighTower

Sorry I didn't know that. Poor man, he was a legend.

  • @TheSunmanho yeah i know :-( there's actual a current interview of him on Oprah. So you can see what i'm talking about. I miss Ebert and Roeper and Siskel. At least Ebert is still able to do reviews by writing. I'll always value his opinion

  • @TheSunmanho his website is incredible. maybe because of his situation he's more prolific than he used to be. also aside from the reviews his blog is really interesting, has a lot of information about coping with stuff after his operation. there's a really moving piece about how he decided not to return to boulder for this festival because he wouldn't be able to do the little things he used to love to do. tragic stuff.

  • @TheSunmanho He is still a Great critic although he doesn't appear on tv.!

  • @IsaacBTTF

yes I learned that in the meantime.

Roger Ebert is still a legend!

  • @TheSunmanho LOL

  • Richard was too easy on this film, I think my review was much more fair.

  • Finally an A!!!! And this movie so deserves it!!!

  • Don't read comment if you haven't seen the movie. Major spoiler.

If I may ask a question. If in the ending he prevented the train from blowing up shouldn't he not be in that guy's body anymore? Cause once he prevented the bomb from going off they wouldn't have send him back into the teacher's body.

  • @chekelacho no ....she cut off his life support so , what his mind remembers is happiness. ( he paid the guy to make the people laugh and kissed the girl) whos to say you're last thoughts before death last forever?....i they think thats what they were going for. so in his reality he saves everyone including himself.....in REALITY he is dead. but then again whos to say you're dead if you believe to be alive....its a pretty cool perspective

  • @lostdarkside I find your comment almost as confusing as the film.

  • @chekelacho

    ****SPOILER ALERT****

The scientist's use of the words quantum and parabolic calculus provide clues that the script and movie are dealing with multiple universes without telling us. Every time he "goes in" he is ending up in a universe that is close in "events" to his original universe. The universe that he ends up in is different from the one he started it. He didn't stop the bomb in his universe. He stopped it in a different one. And failed to stop it in many others.

  • At least you got one thing right. The ending was crap.

  • @tubehab

The ending wasn't crap. It made sense in the rules that movie set up. I'd have been just as satisfied with a fadeout ending after the frozen panning through the train shot.

My favorite ending would have been to put the scenes after that at the end of the trailers so people could choose their ending.

  • OMG A MOVIE GOT RATED A BY THIS GUY

  • DUNCAN!!!

  • Michio Kaku proved the existence of such technology.

  • What an insult to Inception to even compare this to it. We've only seen this type of movie like 6000 times, Deja Vu, Next, and Donnie Darko just to name a few.

  • @grindhouse141

Have you seen my review of "Inception"? Nobody respects that movie more than I do. To "compare" a movie to another doesn't mean it's on the same level. It's a basic device to describe a film's DNA.

    Best,

    RR

P.S. Have you seen "Source Code"? Or are you reviewing the review without even having seen the film?

  • @TheRealRichardRoeper I did see your review of Inception and I know it was your favorite from last year. I was being dramatic. I was reviewing the review based on the trailer for Source Code. I know, it's hardly professional, but let's be honest, 90% of the time you can tell whether or not a movie is original, or of substance, based on the trailer. Just to name a recent example, Adjustment Bureau looked good, but not great, and was. U were great on Howard Stern by the way. U should call in more!

  • @TheRealRichardRoeper I saw Source Code and I think the comparison between this and Inception was very well justified. I would say it's more Inception meets Moon because I see some similar directing techniques used in both films. Great review. I loved Source Code as well.

  • @grindhouse141 God your such a fanboy, inception was over fucking rated.

  • @countchunkula inception was overrated, good to hear someone agree with me on that

  • @eckosama I know right? It was a great movie no doubt, but is far from the greatest sci fi film, and honestly downright boring the second time you watch it.

  • Thank you for the spoiler alert. I will watch this later.

  • @BeEtLjOoZ same glad he did that I cant tell you how many times Michael Phillips or AO Scott would spoil a key plot point during a review. So I'll watch this later after seeing the film.

  • @IconMatthew1 Indeed, a spoiler alert is greatly appreciated.

  • LOVE the new intro music. Don't change it okay.

  • I really want to see this it looks so Awesome.

  • I WANT TO SEE THIS SO BAD!

  • Finally a good movie nice review I'm always a fan man.

  • @JWUniverse Thanks!

    RR

  • I agree with this A. Loved all the actors in it, specially Jake and Vira. They had like this unspoken connection that was really touching. A indeed!
