We did just fine with this piece in '08 at All-State under Dr. Ken Fulton (LSU)... I feel that this choir did a good job BUT it is totally rushed. I think it's better a tad bit slower... especially the beginning and the ending sections....
Taking recording quality into consideration, I was a bit surprised at the pronounciation of certain words and constants, especially on the basses with their scales. I understand it's a bit fast, 'cos I've sung this song before. :3 It gets sharper along the way as well. Male voices have a lot of notes they can't reach. I felt that "meu nao vem" could have been slightly legato, and the beginning and endings a little slower. Of course, it's Ms. Lim's interpretation. Did you all arrange it to DMj?
