  • your specs ?

  • @serioussam151 Specs are given in the vid and on the page - but my specs are - P4 2.80ghz Single Core Processor - 2GB ram - HD 3850 AGP x8 GFX CARD - Windows XP SP2 - basically an old machine.

  • I run this game smmothly with -

    GTX 550 TI Asus Version

    6 GB DDR3 1333mhz ram

    3.0GHZ Dual core Pentium 4

    1900 x 1080 HD Resoulution Full Screen @ 44 - 60 fps

  • @24kgoldring LOL - with them machine specs I should think you can run it smooooothly!! - Wish I had a system like that. :D

  • @Tarim06 Wont tell you my specs then Mr Tarim.. :)

  • This shouldnt work? ur an idiot

  • @Focxio Yes thats right - I may be an idiot, but at least I would not lie about the minimum specs for a game that costs millions to develop. My PC is way below the minimum spec as given by bethesda for this game therefore the game should not work on my machine - I should not be expecting to run it or be able to play it. But I can, and quite well. So thanks for being both constructive in your criticism and also wrong.

  • @8DomoloN8 - darn - sorry to hear that as the processor and memory should be fine to run it like I did... well at least you got a refund and im glad you did. Sorry.

  • @Tarim06. Hi! I think it's awesome that you got skyrim to run smoothly! I don't mind low gfx at all.. I just want the game to run more smoothly. I'm a lil frustrated at this point. I have below minimum specs as well.. my specs are:

    Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU E3300 @ 2.50GHz

    2.1 GB RAM

    XP sp3

    GeForce 7050 / nForce 620i (613 mb)

my gfx card drivers are up to date. I also just installed the EMB. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks sooo much!

  • @cutiesita well if u worked out how to install the ENB patch ok then all I can suggest is what I always suggest.. take it one step at a time. Dont start by running the game at max settings with everything on at 1900x1600.. Start off running the game both full screen and windowed mode at the LOWEST resolutions until you find one thats stable. If you get low frame rates - or frame rate drops from time to time, dont worry - as thats a problem with Skyrim and not your machine! Good luck!

  • @cutiesita you are crazy bro you will never play this game on your rig

  • @100superbuldog Hey. 1. I'm a girl. 2. I played it quite fine! It was a bit laggy, yes BUT I played it well! :D It was great. Then I ordered it for the PS3.. Hopefully, the patches will make it fully playable.

  • @8DomoloN8 hello - i hoped you "liked" the vid.. Well your processor and memory seem fine - just depends on what graphics card you have.. if you have one from 4 years ago then just dont expect the game to run at 60fps with all the detail on. Try at lower settings and slowly work up to see what the game is like on your machine. It "should" work ok - start with low settings and work up.

  • are they making pc games more friendly to lower end rigs now days? i hope so :)

  • @hmt741 No they are not making good PC games that are low end friendly - none of them really make any use of your hardware properly and they are mostly badly tested - so games that should not work on low end rigs (like Skyrim) actually do work just fine - just dont go mad on setting up the screen res to 1600 x 1200 and most games will "work". They may be slightly slower than you like but they can be played and do work. Just a shame really.

  • Foolish question is about to be revealed just in time. I have a packard bell VR46 netbook which has an integrated chipset. But it supports shader model 4. Thus, i managed to come to an end with SW TFU 2 as well as i can play most of the recent games. That chipset contains a GPU operating at 640 MHz. (non-overclocked) I have been playing the Witcher 2 since a few weeks on low details, so, how do you think operability of Skyrim?

  • @WhisperinShadow Ok - well - I really dont know much about your netbook - but im going to say that you could "possibly" get skyrim to run in windowed mode- it probably wont be fast enough to play, but it depends on what main processor you have Intel / AMD ??- and you only only have an integrated card too so it will be difficult. the witcher 2 on low res uses a lot less power than skyrim requires even at low res.. sorry i cannot be more exact, as I really dont know anything about the VR46 netbook

  • I got my laptop about a year ago and it has 1 2.0 Ghz Processer with a Radeon 4200 graphics card and 4.1 gigs of ram. Will i be able to run skyrim on at least medium to low settings???

  • @salamoo42 - hello there.. Well heres a quick note for you my machine is offically over 6yrs old now (at least) - I have a Pentium 4 single core processor at 2.8 ghz - running XP - with 2gb ram - and an ATI HD 3850 agp x8 graphics card from 2006.. and the video is running on that machine! So for your specs you should be able to run it at low detail easily (just dont go beyond 1024x768 on the screen res) - also look up on the net for patches like the ENB patch (if u think u need it). Good luck!

  • Do I have any hope on a 3 year old laptop of getting this to work? Don't care if the graphics aren't great, just playable. (2.00 GHz AMD Athlon Dual-Core, NVIDIA GeForce 8200M)

  • @mapplebygmail - well what i would say is this - You have a dual core athlon processor which should be fine, so the best thing to do is try skrim at lowest settings and work up slowly from there. Also there is a d3d9x.dll type file you can get which fools skyrim into thinking u have a better graphics card than u do, so u can try that. Check nexus.com for skyrim mods.

  • I have a 3.2ghz p4 with ht and a geforce 9500gt pcie 16x i should try it! I can get mw2 on medium at 30fps and mafia 2 maximum settings at 20-30fps XD

  • This just infuriates me. I meet the minimum requirements. In fact, I almost meet the recommended requirements (my graphics card is just a bit dated) and it won't even run on the lowest settings. It looks like it runs at less than 15 FPS...

  • @Hunter7023 - well help could be at hand - You could try the ENB patch - I think its from ENBDEV.COM... its mentioned in the other video I have up for Skyrim Below minimum Spec.. It certainly helps a lot. Also you could try NEXUS for Skyrim patches. If you almost meet the reccomended specs then 30fps and above should be easily achieveable, even if u have a slightly older graphics card.. the ATI HD3850 AGP, that I have, IS an old card.

  • @Tarim06 Unfortunately those didn't really help. I don't believe it should be lagging so bad, but I guess I'll pick up a better video card anyway, which is kind of disappointing.

  • @Hunter7023 - if its frame rate issues you are having then thats probably just one of the many bugs in SKYRIM. I have issues too especially in outside areas where frame rates can drop from 28fps - 30ps to 1 or 2fps then jump back again. I just put up with it as my machine is old - but yours should be a lot better.

  • @Tarim06 Well yesterday I picked up a new video card anyway. Skyrim is now playable :) Oh man I hope this game is worth it.

  • @Tarim06 What ghz are you using. I'm on a 2.0, will that be ok?

  • @DazzyGames - My machine is an old single core pentium 4 2.8ghz - if u have a newer 2.0ghz dual core processor u should be ok.(u can probably overclock it a bit too) If u have an old, like 7yrs old, pentium 2.0ghz then u will struggle.

  • can u say how many fps is that ?

  • @zalarikke - its aprroximately 14 fps - the video recording software FRAPS halfs the speed of the game when recording.

  • Tnx to you I know that I can play it on my old shit... Yay!!!

  • @Saurus990 - just be aware Saurus - it WILL still have all the bugs we have all come to know and love.. in otherwords - it WILL still have slow down issues, it WILL still lock up from time to time (especially in any outdoor environment) - BUT it is possible to play it. Just dont expect 60fps at 1600 x 1200 because your necer going to get it... i approximately get upto 30fps when inside buildings / dungeons outside around 24fps thats at 1024 x 768 ... just so you know! :)

  • game still looks amazing :D

  • @Schmitty39 - yes it still does. Found a few othere INI files that can be added to improve it further for low end machines.. worth checking out the NEXUS mods website for Skyrim MODS... ty for comment.

  • what are your computer specs? graphic card? CPU?

  • @lackogti - Computer is an INTEL P4 2.80 GHz single core cpu - 2Gb Ram - ATI HD3850 AGP x8 GFX CARD - onboard sound card is AC-97 sound card. (Machine is roughly 5 - 6 yrs old now.)

  • @Tarim06 Thanks!

  • Anyone fancy commenting on the fact the system specs on the box mean NOTHING? Or the fact regardless of what machine and how you set it up to run this incredible game it STILL has the same problems... Framerate slowdown, random pauses, the ability to see floating trees, textures not loading, random lockups, random "Skyrim: Not responding" lockups, some mages can hit u with utter pinpoint accuracy regardless of how far u run away and in random directions, quest fails, characters not speaking. etc
