the new album is billed as "back to their blistering roots". Is that referred to the songwriting structure or production technique? Because Davis said that the album production is way simpler and didn't use much automation and tech such as Pro Tools which is what they have done for their debut album. But he didn't mention that the style or song is close to their root.

Korn had all this set up when they filmed this. They were inside a field filming for a dvd with tons of cameras around them. I'm sure it was faked. Korn used to be my favorite band back when I was in 5th - 6th grade. They were one of the first 'heavy' bands that I got into. I've read tons of books, interviews, magazine articles, etc. about them. I am very well educated. I heard about this album and actually got a little excited for it. Would they actually return to their old sound? Sadly, no they didn't. 'Take A Look in the Mirror' is WAY closer to the old sounding Korn. Their last decent release in my eyes.

the new album is billed as "back to their blistering roots". Is that referred to the songwriting structure or production technique? Because Davis said that the album production is way simpler and didn't use much automation and tech such as Pro Tools which is what they have done for their debut album. But he didn't mention that the style or song is close to their root.

guys just so you know he took himself off of his anti-depressant meds, he is not even singing to an audience hes just walking around and the lyrics are really getting to him, it doesn't help that the producer for this CD Ross was intentionally trying to get him depressed, I'm almost certain that's why he acted that way

@Dude11191 Well for the musically inclined, we call it heavy rock, or hard rock. Which ever side of the string you decide to pull, it's music. I personally like Korn. Maybe its because I'm 26 years old and grew up to them. I will say as a musician, Korn will slow you down. Im not dogging them, I'm just speaking truth. I also grow tired of all of these fanatical passive aggressive that get so bent out of shape because when people have the slightest judgment, they omit the context of argument

He's just ripping off all his older material (and not very well) and it's just fake. Trying to make a quick buck off of his own trauma in early life. They were even advertising him turning back to lyrics about his father and the abuse and the fucked up times he had at school. I'm sure if he was till hurt so deeply about it now, that wouldn't be advertising it. It's all for the money now. Korn should just quit.

Korn had all this set up when they filmed this. They were inside a field filming for a dvd with tons of cameras around them. I'm sure it was faked. Just because he's complaining about his fucked up childhood again and they got the same producer doesn't mean it's going to be 'old-school Korn'. It's ridiculous that he would even start bringing all that stuff up in his music again to begin with.

Korn used to be my favorite band back when I was in 5th - 6th grade. They were one of the first 'heavy' bands that I got into. I've read tons of books, interviews, magazine articles, etc. about them. I am very well educated. I heard about this album and actually got a little excited for it. Would they actually return to their old sound? Sadly, no they didn't. 'Take A Look in the Mirror' is WAY closer to the old sounding Korn. Their last decent release in my eyes.

Old or new,it doesn't matter. Korn is korn,and personally I like all their albums. After listening to this album, and the live version of each song,this album has made into my top 5. Really emotional, and fuck you if you think otherwise.
