  • my cousin is dancing this but he is not in hear but he did say the girls cant look on the ground so it tricky if they trip and mess up the girls will get a face plant

  • i danced to another version with sticks in hand!

  • why the western style instrunments with a traditional dance?

  • Para namang walang buhay tong nagsasay sa likod

  • I think this is in Prospera Place Kelowna, right? I recognize some of the dancers.

  • @homeschoolRamis Yes it is. :)

  • Did you guys go to Perry Elementary???

  • Is this not the Fiesta Filipina troupe at Carabram in Brampton? Please give credit...

  • @PEACErepublicO1 Well...

  • @sirach oh and btw you misinterpreted me in the beginning, what I said was, I like all of the cultures, cebuano, kapampangan, igorot, tagalog, magindanaoan, maranao, bisayan, Illokano, I don't find one ethnic group that isn't interesting.

  • @sirach and yeah lol, alipin were more like servants. Obviously bodes of royalty somewhere, instead of uncivilized people that the old spain claimed as that and paganists.

See, isn't our pre-spanish era interesting?

  • @sirach he's the only foreign king to ever be buried in china, and lol, I practice christianity because while a lot of practitioners in the medieval days were not peaceful, they didn't exactly preach the religion itself correctly, Christianity did not just come from Spain obviously, its also been in places outside of europe, such as Ethiopia. Plus tbh it's been true to me, but I also learn from other religions such as Buddhism, and yes even hinduism.

  • @sirach it's not that I think tribes are uncivilized, far from that, a lot of our tribes that are actually tribes were advanced actually, ever heard of pekiti tirsia kali? Even our stick fighting was very advanced, not sure of the origins of ka singkil, but if origins are from the tribes, then proves my point even so. But fact of the matter is besides the Sri Vijaya empire, there were other kingdoms up in luzon and also there was the sultanate. Did you know Sulatan of sulu was buried in china?

  • @sirach Lol, so you ignore the Lakans and the sultanates? They were not tribal, and the rest of the kingdoms in luzon too were not tribal. Go read the ming-shi-lu(Ming dynasty records), they do not describe them as such, and even spanish records did not deem the people of the kingdoms such as lakan dula's tribes, hence the fact they recorded him as "house lakan dula", that is royalty, not a chief.

Regardless, it is fact that the philippines hasn't been properly unified, tensions everywhere.

  • @sirach Lahat na culture tayo man...

All of it, but Singkil is none of those, it is from the Maranao people, and this dance was even before the arrival of the spaniards, even before the arrival of the muslims.

  • Esto es una jota espanola

  • ano yan... parang elementary ang nag sasayaw ...

  • Ka singkil is much more traditional... I prefer it over any spanish influence, or all of them combined... We have such a good culture of our own anyways o_o

  • Why is there an apostrophe on the word: PHILIPPINES?

    THE PHILIPPINES--NOT PHILIPPINE'S....

  • @georgiecapable ty spelling police. :))

  • @georgiecapable -- sbi kaklase ko kapag daw may " 's " ibig sabihin shortcut ng IS ...

  • @carvajal1011 Not if you say "Music and Dance of the Philippine's!" That's just wrong....the name of the country is THE PHILIPPINES, NOT PHILIPPINE'S. Philippine's what? Think ownership, possessive in grammar lesson. You're telling me 's is shortcut of IS--IS of what? I don't understand.

  • @thebandcalledzion : try this one: BAYANIHAN PHILIPPINE DANCE TINIKLING LEYTE DANCE THEATRE or this one also....: Tinikling Filipino Folk Dance a much simpler form and I believe the original one...

  • much beter kung ndi nka rubber shoes ung guy sa likod..pasira!

  • ,kahit ung title lng po,,

  • h!,,can i u tell me the title of the music?.or kung saan po mkakabili,

  • @DhezieNoble : the title of this is Tinikling... you can also view the entire choreographed danced here at You Tibe with the corresponding music... when we were still in Elemnetary school (Grade 4) we were taught how to dance this by counting 1 to 8 and then 8 to 1 and so on... if you can master the grace and the movement of this song then you can definitely dance the other like Cariñosa and Kuratsa and even the La Jota...

  • @DhezieNoble : let me correct myself.. the counting is not 1 to 8 rather I remember counting them 1 to 3 in successive beat... they are very beat is very fast you also have to be on the beat other you get clipped by the bamboo pole.... hehehe... but you''ll enjoy dancing this.... hehehe

  • oy its philippines.

  • Tinikling is super fun. I am pretty good at it and I am white. I love filipino culture wooo!

  • Música de rondalla, propia de frailes en vacaciones.
