Hey, I'm looking to make one of these, should I use the element from the earpiece or the "speaking" end? I've heard of people using both. And does it make a difference which end of the phone's casing I use?
Hi it shouldn't make a difference what end of the Phone U use i used the mouth peice cause it had more sound holes & has a round face..A friend gave me a Phone 2 do for him & the element seen in the short demo i did is from the ear peice as mentioned by brianc46 below this comment..i tryed useing the mouth peice & could get no sound, check out the vidio responce to this clip it looks as both ends work for him, post your vid responce when U finish Bro no neeed to play it just display it if U wish
Hi a simple trick Bro go buy a guitar lead $20 should see you right ,with double ended 1/4" jacks cut 1 end of..follow the vid instructions if you have any problems send me a message i will help out
Many thanks will post pics/vid when I have finished. Our phones also have 3 holes in the earpiece element and someone tells me you could also use this part????
Hi, good tutorial but I have NO knowledge of electrics of any typr and am confused. Common sense tells me the unit you use is from the "speaking" end of the phone but in the video the one used looks exactly like the "earpiece" of my old phone here in the UK. I know I am dim but please can someone tell me the correct part to use. cheers

Alright, thanks. How would I go about connecting the earpiece to a 1/4" jack? I'm pretty lousy with electronics.
