Can you do this to move windows and applications to a new hard drive? I want to upgrade my hard drive to a bigger one and keep my operating system and applications.

Moving files can be easily done by cut-paste.

No, you cannot. Usually, computer can only hold one hard drive. And it is impossible to copy an operating system.
