fantastic...brings back good memories. I found Knowth may even slightly more fascinating than Newgrange, with its satellite mounds, reconstructed wooden circle and the two passages and chambers back to back.Surely too this must be one of Europe's largest artificial mounds, not as big as Silbury but massive all the same.
Knowth's astronomical secrets have been revealed in a newly-republished and acclaimed book called "Island of the Setting Sun - In Search of Ireland's Ancient Astronomers". It is published by Liffey Press and written by Anthony Murphy and Richard Moore. There's lots of information about Newgrange and Dowth and other sites and their links to stars, stones and stories.
Newgrange and Knowth are both fascinating places to visit, especially given how old they are. I visited them in June 2008, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The excavations and rebuilding of Knowth is much further along now. This video is a pleasant reminder of my trip to Knowth, so thank you for posting it on YouTube! And I love Ireland, too, for all the same reasons you mentioned!

It's not just Newgrange, Knowth is just as, if not more complex, beautiful and amazing as Newgrange.
