  • what are you using to protect the pins?

  • Wish the companies would do that haha then no need to spend hours sanding the damn thing

  • @MJBDC7 I used Arctic Silver ArctiClean

  • @SamDeRe81 what lapping? lapping both the CPU and sink can give you sometimes 7 degree drops in temps with arctic silver.

  • @GT5Enthusiast should check out gold paste from Jewlers stores...stuff is phenomenal.

  • gold thermal paste that is....its on google.

  • @SamDeRe81 If you think this is stupid, then why watch videos that have to do with CPU lapping?

  • gj man

  • Always wondered about lapping, does the static build up enough to cause damage? or do you discharge it?

  • lol glad my i7 does't have pins altough should't use force anyway :P

  • @Zer0K3wLL retard intel cpus havent had pins for nearly a decade

  • Is it just more or do CPU's look sick with a mirror finish

  • background music is hideous in compare product

  • Song is Discoland - Pump it Loud (Max Farenthide Remix), search it on Youtube.

  • i neeeeed to know song lol sum1 let me know :'(

  • good job on the laping

  • Killer song and good job lapping the cpu!!!!

  • thanks man!

  • that has to run nice liquid cooling and lapping omg...

  • SICK SONG!!!!! 5\5

  • whats the songs name?

  • idk lol =[

  • WOW Great job :) Is a big diferance at the Temperature ? :) Nice video I have add it at Favorites and Voted with 5 Stars . Great Job :)

  • This wasn't my CPU so all I had was the CPU to lap no computer to run test's for temps but I'm sure the temps went down a bit

  • WOW Great Job :) Love to see More Videos

  • great job man.

most people don't realize the time it takes to do that. 5/5 what cooler you runnin with it?

  • The cooler running with it is a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme(not lapped)

  • Nice lap. How much better are the temps?

  • I'm not sure how much better the temps were as I did not have the whole computer to run tests I only had the CPU to lap.

  • how did you lap that without bending the pins :S i did my e7300 a week ago and i had to use alot of force on the back to get the copper out

  • I just let the weight of the CPU do the work when sanding, I don't put any pressure on the CPU.

  • Very nice job. I cant seem to get mine like that no matter what grits I use :-(

  • I just used 2500Grit to get that shine.

  • That might be my problem. I can only get 2000 grit.

  • most only use 2000Grit and get the same shine.

  • Great job!

  • looks like an excellent job, great work there :)

  • looks great, nice work man

  • do you run temp checks before lapping so you have a base line. I personally would run temps before and after so I would know how much it improved. what I've realized is a few degree's cooler unless the block was really in bad shape (not flat at all) not all CPU's, WCing blocks, and Air Coolers are going to require lapping. Each one needs to be checked with a straight edge and a light to see if lapping is required. would hate to void my warranty if the block is already flat.

    Cheers

  • With my Personal Gaming rig I lapped my i7 920(d0) and I got a diffrence of 11c temp drop from before, this AMD was not my CPU I did not have the whole computer to runs any test,I just had the CPU to lapp, if it was up to me I'd do a before and after.

  • wow 11c that's pretty good, when did you buy your CPU, was the D0 stepping out 3mos ago? when I get some time I'll check out your other vids.

  • I got it when it was first released, I sold the old C0 to a friend and put the money towards a new D0 :D

  • sweet, does the D0 OC better and are there any other benefits like running cooler. Because I have the C0 still in the box, was debating to get the D0 before I install it.

  • I would go for the D0 if I were you, the D0 runs alot cooler and it Overclocks like a champ! my highest OC so far has been 4.9GHz although not 100% stable but I'm still working on it.

  • Thanks

  • why do you lap cpu?

  • People lap their CPUs or heatsinks for better heat transfer. That way the cooler can cool the CPU more leading to maybe higher overclocks.

  • WOW MAN NICE

just like mine your is like 95% to a mirrior

  • Nice job on that. How long did it take you?

  • It took me about 3 hours.

  • nice lapped cpu :D i have the phenom II 920

  • thanks man

  • Thanks man, this CPU is not mine though, I hope it runs alot cooler then before it was alot of work lol
