Dr. Kreepy. Thanks for the tutorial. Ive just built my flying crank ghost a couple days ago. I found that if you look at the website MSC Industrial supply company, they have 5rpm motors for $41 at 50 in. pounds of torque. They also have 5rpm motors at 250 in pounds of torque for like $75. I gotta tell you these things are great. Im glad I found your video. Thanks again
Dr kreepy1. Thanks for the tutorial. Ive built my crank ghost just a few days ago and got it flyin preety good now. I found that if you look on MSC.com website they have 5hp motors for $41 at 50 in pounds of torque. Seems to be workin great. Thanks again. Oh they also have 5hp motors at 250 in. pounds of torque for like $75.
thanks i found that after i asked ,go figure.. are there any specific lengths to the fishing line or all about same length?I'm guessing a little altering to best fit?
Very cool. I'm going to look at making one of these for this Halloween. I figured 3 weeks is still enough time. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
I am trying to make my own flying crank ghost and am having trouble finding a good Laundry detergent to use on the cheese cloth. Have any ideas? Thanks
hey man great vid, i watched it last halloween but got scared to try, i just started mine today but i got to thinking, has anyone use a motor with alot of tourqe and made a complex pully system and put like 3 ghost moving together?
Thanks so much for the videos, FCG was something I always wanted to make but was intimidated by the complexity of the build. Now I have one. Even my daughter (14) ,who thinks dad is weird, loves this prop!
OK, this is my very first-ever comment on youtube, but dude, this is just the very best how-to video I've ever seen. And I'm a very picky, cranky old lady crafter. Kudos, sonnyboy, now I'll have my very own FCG, thanks to you and the good folks at Phantasmechanics... and you have a grateful new fan! :->
Hi dude, Im from mexico, and I`ve seen your video and it`s really awesome ;), congratulation, I have a question for you my friend, can you tell me, what kind of motor you used to make the floating effect ( Name & Model ) ;), I`ll wait your answer, greetings from mexico, see ya !!
lemme get a video of it in action but were getting a new video camera this week so be a few days till i get the video but ill take some pics. My dad thought we could go to a junk yard and get a wiper motor for about 10 bucks and test that out.Oh and we put redish and pinkish flourecent paint on one sheet of the cloth to make it look bloody and stand out. Keep up with the vids! cya!
Hey, me and my dad are making a crank ghost too. were putting a fan the goes from one side to another under the sheets of the ghost to make it move, we dont feal like buying a 50 dollar motor so we put the fan on a night stand under the cheese cloth of the ghost on a black night stand and it works like a charm! Nice vid! ROCK ON!
My wife and I followed your tutorial and made our own FCG. Of course ours isn't motorized yet. We decided to cut costs this year by putting a fan behind it instead. Looks wicked!
Huge Halloween Party! We hold one every year. Hopefully i'll hit some haunted houses and i'm working with my buddy on a public access t.v. show to air around Halloween!
Our plans by the way: we'll probably watch some movies, maybe start a bonfire outside and pass out candy. We like to roast hot dogs and marsh mallows over a bonfire on Halloween.
Ah, IQ test...Was just trying to figure out where Part II was...and saw that I'd watched Part I only 5 hours after it had been added...Heh. Gimme part II damn it! :D

I have been having trouble finding a Laundry detergent to use for this, have any ideas? Thanks :)
kingoros 1 year ago
@kingoros I've read you can use RIT whitener but i've never used it. Most powdered detergent has a blueing agent in it that is UV reactive.

would gorilla glue work well with cheese cloth or just become a huge mess?

For glueing the fabric to the frame, I think it would be okay....Although i've never used Gorilla glue.

would putting it bleach give it a nice glow?
S1n1sterTech 2 years ago
I'm not sure bleach would work. It doesn't have the blueing agent.
