This is extremely impressive stuff you're a very tactical orientated player. Check out Swat4 I think it would be right up your alley. In my opinion its more than on par with the early rainbow games and is the most realistic room clearing simulation game ever made. The rainbow six games these days are so dumbed down and simple to appeal to the masses. @julzshin Before you start a mission you can have the option to observe meaning that you are not playing but instead watching the AI carry out your mission plan like what I've done here.

I finished this mission using 5 men on max difficulty without losses. For some reason AI hostiles don't pay attention (alert) to smoke, so I used this to go through the shaft. I used 2 groups: first as forward mobile (to enter through the shaft) and for hostage escort (2 men); second as cleaner and back cover for the hostages (they were sitting on the ladder in the main hall near hostage rooms for some time to shoot out hostiles running in and to secure 1st group with hostages from the back)
the cover system was pretty cool, but they should us give back the planning stage, more weapons, more maps, better ai (one shot with a silenced weapon and every enemy across the map know where you are) and maybe a redone healthsystem and rainbow six would be as cool as raven shield again

Sometime Windows XP service pack 3 gives me the same problem. Then once i'll either format or reinstall my windows XP over, it'll happen to finally work correctly after awhile.
So, for now, this is the best option i can give you.

@tatuira93 It's in the planning stage. I can't remember the exact words but if I'm not mistaken it's basically cautious, normal, and blitz. Blitz is running. However it's important to note that if anybody in your team gets winged they will not be able to run since they can only go as fast as their slowest man/woman.
Imagine this game with better graphics, and even more realistic AI and tactical animations, this would be the greatest game of all time. There are no shooters that measure up to R 6-3 period.

The best single feature of this game IMO is the attention to detail in the weapons. Rate of fire switching, actual mags (not magically refilling mags every time you hit reload), properly executed suppressors and gunsights.
Everything is being dumbed down these days. Vegas 1/2 was a joke.

I have a question. Sometimes when I issue an "open, flash, clear" command, the guys don't move to the side before opening the door. Instead they stand right in front of it and either get killed by whoever is behind the door or get flashed themselves. Anyone know why this happens and how to solve the problem?
This had one of the most innovative fps mechanics i've ever seen. Im genuinely shocked that it hasn't been used in far more games since (talking about the way the action integrates with the planning). Nice job on this vid too btw! :)
In the console version you only had yourself and three AI teammates. This looks much more enjoyable. Completely agree with SaFalken's comment. Tom Clancy games used to be true tactical games that required planning and prudence. But as of late, the Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six series of games have been mainstreamed to shit by their developers. And while these certainly are entertaining in their own right, they deviate from the fundamentals that originally made them great.
@hermanislose go to options and look for the key to open the console and put it to your choice then open it in the game and type in behindview. this also works with other cheats aswell go look them up
This misson is actually easy.You dont really have to plan , seriously.Theres a ladder near the starting point.Throw a smoke grenade down and slide down that ladder.Then neutralize those enemies there.After that , rescue those hostages.Climb up that ladder , again and bring them to the save point.You can just use the first person shooter , if u want.Do you really have to neutralize those terrorists ? Or is it just a glitch in my game? Cos i bought it at the cash converter. LOL

Raven Shield is legit. It's the last true tactical Rainbow Six game and it would be the one I would suggest. With that said if you're more of a casual gamer than the first Vegas may be more your speed.
It should work on new PCs...I think. In this game you actually spend most of it setting up your plan of attack. You can outfit your teams with different gear ranging from camo, armor, to weapons. Yes there are suppressors as you can see in this video.
@DanHibikiFan how about the Ghost Recon series? what're the main differences between GR and RS titles? i've heard there's a lot more much bigger outdoors in the GR titles. which one is more realistic/tactical and less arcadey? :P
@GusCraigengower GR, traditionally, is about large open environments while Rainbow Six is straight up CQB. They're both equally unrealistic and arcadey nowadays.

@DanHibikiFan Nowadays - compared to what? As far as I know, there has never been any game like Raven Shield again. SWAT 4 was nice and shiny but lacked the whole planning part, and Vegas and Vegas 2 can't be seriously considered as parts of the RB6 series - at least in my opinion. For GR I would definetly count ArmA 2 as today's alternative, but for RB6... what is more realistic nowadays?

@splintercell2013 Well, since those were basically console ports I don't really condemn them. They were linear and you couldn't customize, sure, but the gameplay was Raven Shield but with a controller instead of a keyboard. Lockdown on the other hand... *barf*
The Vegas games aren't *terrible* but they could be so much more.

@Real720 They did most things wrong but they did do a lot of good things - rapelling, fast roping, assigning targets to teammates, and some decent animations. The games by and large are about as appealing as a fart from an elephant but they did get some things right.

I have a question. Sometimes when I issue an "open, flash, clear" command, the guys don't move to the side before opening the door. Instead they stand right in front of it and either get killed by whoever is behind the door or get flashed themselves. Anyone know why this happens and how to solve the problem?

@megaricardas A win still counts in observe mode i am pretty sure
AI can only breach LOCKED doors though. you need to be in the game yourself (and not in spectator mode) to breach an open door.
i never needed to breach a door though like EVER so i wonder why you ask XD

This had one of the most innovative fps mechanics i've ever seen. Im genuinely shocked that it hasn't been used in far more games since (talking about the way the action integrates with the planning). Nice job on this vid too btw! :)

In the console version you only had yourself and three AI teammates. This looks much more enjoyable. Completely agree with SaFalken's comment. Tom Clancy games used to be true tactical games that required planning and prudence. But as of late, the Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six series of games have been mainstreamed to shit by their developers. And while these certainly are entertaining in their own right, they deviate from the fundamentals that originally made them great.

This misson is actually easy.You dont really have to plan , seriously.Theres a ladder near the starting point.Throw a smoke grenade down and slide down that ladder.Then neutralize those enemies there.After that , rescue those hostages.Climb up that ladder , again and bring them to the save point.You can just use the first person shooter , if u want.Do you really have to neutralize those terrorists ? Or is it just a glitch in my game? Cos i bought it at the cash converter. LOL

Raven Shield is legit. It's the last true tactical Rainbow Six game and it would be the one I would suggest. With that said if you're more of a casual gamer than the first Vegas may be more your speed.

It should work on new PCs...I think. In this game you actually spend most of it setting up your plan of attack. You can outfit your teams with different gear ranging from camo, armor, to weapons. Yes there are suppressors as you can see in this video.

@GusCraigengower GR, traditionally, is about large open environments while Rainbow Six is straight up CQB. They're both equally unrealistic and arcadey nowadays.

and raven shield, being the last 'original' Rainbow Six title; should be relatively more realistic than any of the ghost recon titles yer? :/ also, do you think raven shield is less realistic than SWAT 4? :P.

@DanHibikiFan Nowadays - compared to what? As far as I know, there has never been any game like Raven Shield again. SWAT 4 was nice and shiny but lacked the whole planning part, and Vegas and Vegas 2 can't be seriously considered as parts of the RB6 series - at least in my opinion. For GR I would definetly count ArmA 2 as today's alternative, but for RB6... what is more realistic nowadays?
