  • this music reminds me how tainted the human race has become. We must remember that God loves us all. It’s sound very beautiful. She really was a genius, and ahead of her time.

  • @thompsoch How tainted it's become? Haha. You imply that we were better off in earlier times when religion ruled the way we lived. What was that called? Oh, yeah, the Dark Ages.

  • la abadesa Hildegard una reina en espiritu y una rencarnasion de leonardo da vinci una gran mujer una gran cientifica y artista

  • @general3407 No tiene razon. Saint Hildegaard live in 1100 AD and da Vinci lived in the year 1500 AD.... so, no. No she wasn't a re-incarnation of him. Nice try.

  • World peace is unrealistic goal... mankind is always at war. it's human nature.

  • The beautiful music, The heaven inspired. I to belong sevent day adventist church. I to listen this big music. The Handel music, in true inpsired for God.

  • "Kyrie Eleison" means Lord show mercy on me. in greek. This is part of eastern orthodox tradition but as we once upon the time the christian church was one! An orthodox christian!

  • Hildegard von Bingen is an anointed woman of God. Her songs are inspired by the Holy Spirit.

because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. - Romans 8:14.

God's presence is in our worship. Hallelujah! May his spirit inundate your homes as you listen. AMEN

  • @dishwasherman83 Romans 8:14 is actually

"For as many are led by the Spir'it of God, they are the sons of God." in the King James Bible. in which is the bible that i think is the most reliable other than the bible in hebrew language. :D may God bless you :)

  • This is a beautiful musical expression. ♰ I have been a fan of Hildegard von Bingen for a long time. She was an important historical figure. Peace in Christ.

  • Since Hildegard von Bingen was a member of the aristocracy and the writer of a number of books and famous letters, I doubt she was illiterate. She was not from a poor family. History lessons are good.

  • The Sybil of the Rhine was interdicted, not excommunicated. Before her death, she was reconciled w/the Church and all was forgiven. Several attempts to canonize her have failed; however, she remains 'blessed' or beatified. On some religious calendars, her feast day is celebrated on Sept. 17th.

  • @musicmadnezz

actually she was not excommunicated, as a matter of fact she's a blessed which is just one step from sainthood

  • great music

  • @mthereazaalves

The Anglican Church can not have canonized Hildegard because Anglicans have no official process of canonization. The Anglican Church honours many of the saints inherited from the Roman Catholic Church, often on the feast days originally set in the Catholic calendar, and they have added men and women of their own to the calendar of feast days, but these added people are not canonized saints. They are considered "Servants of God".

  • wow

  • This song makes me feel in peace, like everything is ok, and is gonna be ok

  • @nightmarelab thank you for writing this, it's exactly what i needed to hear right now.

  • Sarah Dominick - Medival period

  • Is this her singing? she has a really nice voice!! Is she German?

  • @nicodagger No, Hildegarda lived in the 11th century. She was born in 1098 and died in 1179 (81 years old). Yes, she was german, a simple and illiterated woman, whose views made her remain in silence for long years, not to be sacrificed as a witch. Herself developed an alphabet to write music and the revelations she was made instrument for. Besides being a musician, she was also a painter of visions he had.

  • @nicodagger Hildegarda was canonized for the Anglican Church. Though illiterate, Hildegarda was a respected physician, philosopher, abbess, and her influence was felt throughout medieval Europe.

  • she wasn't illiterate. she came from a wealthy family. actually, a lot of the women in her cloister came from wealthy families. she was also a writer, poet, and an artist.

  • @nicodagger

if only...she's a German nun from the medieval ages who allegedly received visions from God and went into numerous conflicts with the church, resulting in her excommunication

extremely talented lady of the medieval ages

if only we could hear her sing this

  • the austerity of Hildegard sung with the levity of an Irish song

  • Very beautiful.

Some parts sound like classical Indian vocal music to me.

    Thanks for posting.

  • so beautiful

  • Why is this a rip off of Lisa Gerrard. Hildegrard of Bingen composed her music in the twelfth century!

  • because idiots don't know history.

  • @heliotropezzz333 What monopoly does Lisa have on any music besides her own and Dead Can Dance? I am a huge fan of Lisa Gerrard/Dead Can Dance. But what remotely valid quam is there between Lisa and this piece?

  • Hildegard von Bingen...

    (16. september 1098 in Bermersheim - 17. september 1179 in Rupertsberg)

She is the mother !!!!!!!!!! :D

And one the biggest composers, ever.

She was a genius, and ahead of her time! :)

Saint Hildegard, was a German abbess, author, counselor, linguist, naturalist, scientist, philosopher, physician, herbalist, poet, channeller, visionary and composer.

I think that it is wonderful/amazing that u can "feel" her though the music, even almost 1000 years later..

  • Hildegard Von Bingens music reminds me how corrupted the human race has become. We must fight for peace, and we must remember that God loves us all.

  • Even though I understand what you mean - or perhaps I do not:) Fighting for peace is like killing for life. World peace cannot be achived by human will. No one has a right to impose their will on others. It is from such imposition that wars break out. Asking the world to be peaceful is not going to make it so. All you can do is be at peace, and hope others will be touched by your peace. Look back at all the "peace movements" that were part of your life and memory. Where is their "peace"?

  • @rem0teseer World peace can be achieved if humans had the will to fight for INNER peace and to destroy bad inner states such as anger, greed...etc. It's only by making changes on an individual level that outer changes manifest.

  • @LawOfOneDaughter

So true... I totally agree with you.

  • @LawOfOneDaughter

    "INNER peace"

Could you define inner peace for me please?

  • Hi Mr Pontius Pilate,

It is an indescribable feeling. I've experienced it a few times after a really focussed session of meditation. I'm totally calm and my mind is still and free from chatter. I'm totally "in" the experience. There's no past nor future, hence no room for resentment nor worry about what may come.

I can't describe it fully. You have to experience it for yourself.

    Take care.

  • I wish you peace.

  • @MrPontiusPilate

Methinks you protesteth too much - I too wish you peace

  • Quoting from my counterpoint book by Owen Swindale (first chapter on Plainsong): "Anyone who has heard unaccompanied plainsong well sung will not need to be reminded of the incomparable dignity and solemnity of its effect, withdrawing the mind from the rush and vulgarity of everyday life into a world of calmness and contemplation." I think that's the kind of peace you're talking about. It is very true.

  • I believe that dfthompson did not mean that we should use violence to attain peace, but to "fight" for it by finding peace and spreading it.

  • @rem0teseer I agree with you, but I think an important distinction to keep in mind is that hildegard never saught to impose her will on people, she saught to impose God's will on them.

With respect to many of the figures who shaped the crusades, this was a thinly veiled way of imposing their own will on others, but with Hildegard, I do not believe that to be true. She was a true believer in a very real sense.

  • @rem0teseer

alienated nonsense, your world stands for total oppression

being peacefull against tyranny or violence is actually inviting the violent to attack you

  • @rem0teseer Take a Sociology course and you'll realize how the will of the people is imposed on citizens on a daily basis. In order to secure our persons and our property, we give up the right to harm others so that we cannot be legally harmed. It's called a social contract, and it's the basis of civil, cooperative, society. Extending that contract to include economic, political, and social equality for all the people on this planet requires nothing more than sympathy and a love for others.

  • @rem0teseer I've always said that fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity! ;) Mother Teresa always said that she would rather attend a peace rally than an anti-war rally. You are absolutely correct with what you have said...

  • @rem0teseer Pray for peace, act for peace. Perhaps struggle for the cause of peace is how it should be said.

  • @rem0teseer

My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives, but as I give. - Jesus.

The world's form of peace is useless in the most difficult times of our lives. You can't sleep if you have no peace in your heart. World peace cannot be achieved until all men know the prince of peace which is Jesus. His teachings on agape love and receiving the holy spirit will supernaturally bring peace to mankind.

I know because faith has made me receive that Holy peace that can withstand storm

  • lol im sorry but u said fight for peace :) anyway you r correct, it kinda lets u reflect

  • simply beautiful!!!!!!!!
