Dane Youssef, I appreciate your commentary and momentary words of wisdom, but do you have to say your name twice, on the same comment, on every video? A little vain, maybe? lol
I'm sure Serling had a blast sending up his own show on Jack Benny. It's funny, you know. He's usually the host/scribe of his own show, but there he go to interact with the insanity of his own world.
Serling wanted the whole world to know of his work and his existance. Once he left the idyllic paradise of his boyhood home, he had the whole goddammed universe going against him. And he made through undeniable talent yes, but mostly damned sheer will.
Love the clip of Rod Serling's appearance on the Jack Benny show ;-)
Amazing how much of Serling's hometown of Binghamton was reflected visually and emotionally in his writing: the old-fashioned band gazebo, clock towers, tree-lined sidewalks, the merry-go-round. He wasn't just resolving his past or his longing for home, he was re-creating his home and keeping it vivid until he could return to it.
Is there no part 6?
Thank you for putting this up by the way, we don't get any Rod Serling related things in the uk.
I'v never seen any of his work on the television so I rely on the internet.
