  • Win8Loader Extreme Edition...

  • That screen looks like a giant iPhone

  • Wasn't the Surface 2.0 already released?

I recall being at a restaurant in Las Vegas earlier this year that had a Samsung touchscreen table with an AMD processor, and I think they were touting "Microsoft Surface 2.0 Experience"...

  • This is really awesome!!!

  • hi Josh, I have another question. How did you install windows 8 on the surface? I tried to use USB DVD-ROM and put the DVD inside but I don't know how to boot to the DVD-ROM. thanks

  • when is surface 2 coming out?

  • Hey man wassap question

Did your battery icon dissapear ? If so i cant change my to disable to enable

    any help

    thanks

  • Man i'm soRRy but the windows 8 like this _!_ hate it

  • oh GREAT another fucking windows. Joy..

  • Cool stuf!

  • how much does it cost the hardware w/software?

  • @jpablo46 Surface 1 costs $12,500. Surface 2, which is about to be released, costs almost half that: $7,900. Check surface dotcom about Surface 2 -- it's much thinner and has better hardware specs.

  • Who all uses Surface? I've never seen one in real life before..ever

  • @CellphoneTL Surface is used for business to consumer scenarios, such as retail stores, restaurants, professional consultations, as well as enterprise collaboration and other scenarios. Check surface dotcom under Product | Applications to see some examples, as well as see Surface 2.0 which is about to come out.

  • Do you have the surface vision system installer or some short? I have a surface 1.0 as well at my office but I'm not sure of reinstalling the OS since the surface comes with the vision system and other related softwares. I don't get any cd/dvd when my office bought it.

  • @fajran If you have a Surface 1.0, check in c:\SurfaceInstallers for SurfaceSDK.msi. That installer includes the vision system (unlike the Surface SDK Workstation Edition). Note that the license for that installer with the vision system components is tied to the Surface hardware and you cannot distribute it. Read my blog linked in the video information for details. I recommend shrinking your Vista partition and installing Win8 on a 2nd partition for dual booting. Works well.

  • @blakejr yes thanks. found it :)

  • Amazingly Awesome.

  • I guess when they said Windows everywhere, they weren't kiddin

  • Umm....why do you have a surface sitting in your house in the middle of nothing? I mean, if you're going to pony up the dough for a surface then why not do something cool with it and put it in a fully finished basement with arcade machines, a pool table, a bar, etc? That's what I'd do!

  • @TimDwg The Surface belongs to my employer and I have it at home (in the living room) since I develop Surface, Kinect, and other NUI applications for a living, sometimes at home, sometimes on-site. It's also great with my young children. :)

  • Very cool!

  • @Pokemonmaster260 this isn't ARM, plus there is windows 8 for ARM, microsoft was showing it off to The Verge the other day

  • @DaGetz10 I know there's an ARM version, it just hasn't released yet...

  • Nicely done Josh! Are you planning on sharing the code? Thankyou for the analysis between Win8 touch and Surface touch as well :)

  • @Jfarro Thanks! The code is mostly available already, search for MultiTouchVista on CodePlex.

  • @blakejr Doh! Sorry I didn't see the SurfaceInput provider there (it's only in the source). Too cool! Congrats on 9k views (and counting :) )

  • You are an awesome dude.

  • How much did that Surface cost?

  • @Drazgoosh Surface 1 costs $12,500. Surface 2, which is about to be released, costs almost half that: $7,900. FYI - this Surface belongs to my employer, not me.

  • Filmed with a calculator.

  • @lhgluke ? Try to lower your standards

  • We don't have Windows 8 for ARM yet... is this an emulator? Or is Microsoft Surface an x86 device?

  • @POKEMONMASTER260 check out 3:36

  • @POKEMONMASTER260 Surface contains x86 hardware, not ARM.

  • @POKEMONMASTER260 Microsoft Surface 1.0 is x86.
