You think theres nothing to do in oman?? you havent looked well in oman cause in this country theres BEAUTIFUL places, GREAT malls and restaurants,Deserts, mountanous areas were you can go ROCK CLIMING, BEACHES,lakes, CULTURES, museams etc....{A LOT MORE}.. well we dont need your opinion cause your the only person i heard in my life that thinks oman is so boring. I love oman just the way it is. I think your just a booooooring person!!!

@ 1.59 I think its the overhead vehicle crossing from Al Khuwair towards Shatti Al Qurum ( Muscat Intercon. area). Not many overhead pedestrian crossings. The last time, I visited in 2007, saw some few pedestrian crossings constructed in Azaiba area opp. Zubair Auto.

that is all i knew , but aside from it i would say OMAN is peaceful with a less crime reported so far. The only sad thing is most of these bad guys are not really OMANIs, they are from other countries.

i cant compare oman to other countries in the middle east for the reason that i have not traveled across GCC. But as far as i know like what i have read in the news paper, there are already lots of bad guys arround the city especially in RUWI area. There have been reports of carnapping and stealing of properties on parked vehicles leaving it open or not being attended.

I don't know where you get your information, but thats definitely not the case. I've lived there for years, and its the safest country i know. A lower crime-rate then most western European country's.

The only unsafe thing is the traffic, 16 times more deaths a year then the european average. But i guess for this region thats not bad, and they work hard on improving anyway. Did you know you will go to jail for running a red light :)

If you want to visit the middle east, Oman is the way to go!!!

what the situation before when you were here is not the same nowadays in OMAN. i based my information from the news paper i read and from the people i have talked to who experiences those cases of stealing items from inside their car and carnapping etc.

i did not say that OMAN is not safe anymore, but the mere fact that some cases of stealing and robbery etc, are now happening in OMAN. if you are not aware or doesnt know of the latest news about OMAN ,

why dont you try to read online thru OMAN news paper OMANTRIBUNE or THEWEEK or HI magazine so you will keep updated.deaths from car accidents goes higher every month. you must not compare OMAN from european countries because these countries have big difference in terms of population, OMAN has only more than 3 million people including expatriates.

one more thing , i have encounter twice in a year a couple in a luxury car ( dont know if that car is carnapped) with their child inside , begging for financial help ( i know they are indians )telling me they dont have money anymore to buy petrol for their car and milk for their child and they cant go back to salalah which 12 hours drive from muscat( this always happens at night) , blah blah blah .....

i am not that stupid to beleive them, cause it happens to me twice already wiht the same people but with different cars they are using.

these are only examples of what is OMAN now. because of this bad guys from other countries.

I lived in Muscat for four years, and really it's a very fine country. The people, the fascilities, the economy, government... all are great and tolerant of foreigners. Part of how I was able to become Muslim was by the example I saw in Oman, Alhamdulilah. May Allah SWT continue to guide and bless Oman's fine Sultan, and all people therein.
