First, deer is the plural form of deer. Also, I see venison on the hoof, except those guys are so small that the tenderloins would be no bigger than a weiner and the backstraps about the size of a 2-year old kid's wrists.

Wild animals are not pets and Disney movies lull people into muddled opinions.

A wild animal will attack for many reasons, e.g., to assert dominance, get food--sometimes you are the food (as several in California have found out about cougars the hard way.)

Those deer have been living in the city of Nara for 1300 years. I've never heard someone have been seriously injured by them.
