  • my Uncle is the one singing chee :)

  • Good slow dance. Good choice of pareo to show leg and hip moves. Long double slit pareo looks elegant. Especially if you have fuller thighs and hips.

  • The hats are an awful addition to otherwise beautiful costumes. Some missionary suggest you wear western attire?

  • i hear this sort of music at a store i go to over here that sells exotic items, such as bamboo furniture.. and hawaiian type items.. its really cool

  • beautifull costumes!

  • Hot and sexy!

  • 0:36 Loincloth? I didn't think that was likely for girls in this culture.

  • i think its very beautiful and very truditional

  • love their outfit :)

  • I think they ladies are beautiful, but I have seen plenty of this songs with this kinda dance and there is not much to it , I know the hands talk in their dances, but still all they do is move their waist in circles and that is it! I guess i just did not get much out of it. its just like circle circle circle circle circle, 5mintures later they are like circle circle circle circle....................................................Goodness am tired.

  • I am really not getting the nasty comments here but I think some folks are taking a perfectly beautiful dance out of context. I think these ladies all did a great job and I commend them for the fact that they used women of all sizes. Even though I'm a skinny girl, I'd still like to see my sisters represented in different shapes and sizes and actually smiling in each others presence. Wonderful video!

  • Love this dance sooo much. It's soo beautiful.

  • This is very beautifull.

  • how graceful

  • this dance is called an Aparima, and is a tahitian dance, just not an Otea. An Aparima is also danced in Raratongo, and other neighboring Tahiti islands. it is not hawaiian hula.

  • why the beach is so refreshing ....?

  • dumb ass monkey island sluts???...hahahahahahahha that's funny...wrong and stupid but kind of funny. I will have to add that to my "what i have been called because of where i come from" book...it's right up there with "fat taro"...hahahaha. The things people will say because they can't help but wanna be one of us teeheehee.

  • I do Tahitian and Hawaiian Dancing and that is Hawaiian...Tahitian is much, much, faster!

  • Look at the technique and listen to the lenguage... this is a tahitian ahuroa dance.

in Ori tahit there are some styles as slowly as hawaian awana.

Sorry for my english, i am mexican girl!

    SALUDOS

  • Tahitian lady doing HAWAIIAN HULLA! so what? lol

  • she is dancing an APARIMA, its tahitian,...

  • All of you but a few do not know what you are talking. There are many full Hawaiians on the island. You all are making comments about things you do not understand. Your comment is an insult to me as a Polynesian and to our people and those that love and embrace our culture.

"E mahele i ko na`auao oku kakou ho`olina e ola mau no- (Share the knowledge of our heritage that it may live on)

  • Tren994 for your stupidity, we as Polynesians are thick people we are not fat you idiot ! We are thick with it for sure. So until you understand our culture that we embrace our culture and our people no matter their size or mixture of cultures. Our culture is beautiful. So if you have nothing to say nice dont say anything

  • This dance has many Tahitian style dances as Keanini and Puaalaaumoe explained, but similar to the same. You can do research to understand the difference styles whether Tahitian or Hawaiian the basics are the same, only the style differs.

  • TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE FIGHTING DO NOT FORGET YOU ARE COMMENTING ON THE VIDEO.

in my opinion it was beautifull.

  • whoa...i just read all 49 comments on here and there sure is a lot of hate. I thought it was hawaiian nature to be kind. I should know...born and raised (and proud of it). After reading it all, I feel that the only person at fault is the person calling us dumb ass island monkey sluts. You mess with one you mess with all and honey you climbed up the wrong coconut tree.

  • this is tahitian aparima for brinah408 its TAHITIAN

  • ahhh...i love dancing hula. it's so relaxing. even though it's slow, people don't realize what an incredible workout it is. that's what i like about my Halau...doesn't matter what age or size...dancing is for everyone.

  • its not even tahitian this is Hula

  • beautiful

  • fatty what hell is your problem!?!

Can I ask what your physical condition is? or doesn't it apply to here?

  • this is tahitian and it's called an ahuroa. omg i can't believe they are still doing this number, this dance was from the 80s same exact motions and everything.

  • well, there are several different types of tahitian ori=) Not just fast shaking fa'rapus^^

  • oh so theres a difference between Hawaii and tahiti hula....didnt know that

  • Absolutely not Hawaiian.

  • Tahitian is much faster than this.

  • lol umm, yes some tahitian songs are faster.. but they have slow ones like these, dances like these are usually called ahu purotu or ahu roa, describing the long/pretty dress they wear.... but.. what do i kno right? =)

    Nana

  • this is Hawaiian, not Tahitian.

  • if you want to see hawaiian dancing, look up the merrie monarch. this is not hawaiian. it's barely even tahitian.

  • Wow. I almost thought this was Hula.

    xDD

I should know better, since we did a Tahitian dance that was similar to Hula, but had Hawaiian movements.

  • hottest chicks ever made :D i love hawaii!!!

  • Eh, I know the girl in the video....

  • simply beautiful. Its also very similar to bellydancing. Its amazing how they're all one big happy family. Each dance form has a place in my heart. thanks for posting.

  • Actually it's not hula because the song is not in Hawaiian. It's called ahupurotu - like a hula, but, Tahitian. :) I believe the song is titled, "Tiare Oe no Tahiti."

  • this dance is called the HULA ...its beautiful

  • hmm...your name is 'ellisa', and you have a d*ck? no wonder you're angry. BTW, nobody wants your hate talk and ignorance, and even less your d#ck.

  • It must SUCK to be you. the only big white dick you would give her is if you handed her mine!!

  • eww. white people. their always all pink...or worse...red, ew ew.

  • k um that was rasist please keep those comments to yourself

  • jus anotha ignorant white racist.

@ least our culture isz celebrated, recognized, & appreciated world round. ur culture(s) do not hav ppl pay 2 go see them, do they ???

B.T.W u dnt even hav a real culture becuz white ppl like r the most mixed group of ppl n the world. so shut up girl w/ a d**k

  • lol ur just as ignorant...fyi people do not come to hawaii to watch the dance they come to enjoy the sun and beach....and hawaiians are the most mixed group of people....tell me does a pure hawaiian exsists....I THINK NOT!!!

  • ok maybe u dnt wanna get a cultural experience when u come 2 hawaii but itsz not acceptable 4 elisaaron529 2 call any1 a "dumbass island monkey slut"

& i never said i was hawaiian & this is not a HAWAIIAN dance. so there was no need 2 insult hawaiians

when i said "our culture" i was talkin about polynesian culture because im polynesian.

& honey u thought wrong. big island [the island of hawaii] is full of homesteads for pure hawaiians & there r homesteads on oahu 4 pure hawaiians.

  • I was raised on a Homestead in waimanalo windward side and believe me more then half of the people living on the homestead are not ever pure hawaiians....please tell me where I can find these pure hawaiians?

  • waimanalo is not on big island. of course the homesteads on our island of oahu are not going to be bursting with pure hawaiians.

& your still missing the point of comment in the 1st place. elisaaaron529 called the girl n the video a "dumbass island monkey slut" that is being ignorant

& it doesnt hav anything to do with hawaiians. u broguht up hawaiians. this a tahitian dance so i don't know what hawaiians got 2 do with it.

    much alofa.

  • i guess you missed the point of my comment anyway. elisaaron529 [whose comment i was responding to] was being racist & ignorant.

    she/he said:

"what a dumb ass island monkey slut

i would give her a big white dick

what do you fucking ice head moks got to say about that

fucking kooks fuck asians and pacific isalnders just like niggers

pieces of shit let em burn fucking kkoooooooooookkks

fuck you let me know ill kill you islanders"

so you need to get your facts straight.

  • Some people come to Hawaii to watch the dance though. Some come here to visit family members who live down here and soak up the Aloha around us. By the way roxy, there are still pure Hawaiians in Hawaii.

  • s3xyr0xy: I agree with the DiMari3 comments.I don't know where you are looking but I can tell you that I have pure Hawaiians in my family both on my mother's and father's side. I am Hawaiian/Scottish because a Scotsman married my great great GM, and she was the only one to marry a non-Hawaiian. Most of my family live on the big island.

  • So "s3xyrOxy" just because you may not know any pure Hawaiians does not mean they do not exist. The Hawaiians have lost a lot and now we have people like you denying they exist. My family is alive well, thank you.

  • ya ummmm that made no sense and for your information it takes years of painful work to be able to dance like that!

  • "dumb ass island monkey slut"

... how long did it take u to come up with that extremely insulting collaboration of boring words? like honestly, that is the most stupidest, idiotic, self-insulting insult i have ever heard of. congratulations, u just made urself look like the, quote, "dumb ass island monkey slut" ..

im quite sure ur dick is not as big as u think it is mister monkey pants =) cos ur obviously compensating for somethin.

i think this dance was wonderful.

  • @ellisaaron529 LOL thats funny cuz most of u scrawny white boys gets dropped over here u dumb haole come hawaii i bet you'll be shiting your pants wanting to go back

  • @ellisaaron529 p.s white ppl dont have big dicks

  • @808gummibear You r absolutely right.

  • Where did this performance take place? I went to a luau show like this a few years ago--pit roasted pig, amazing show...terrific. I wonder if this is at the same resort hotel.

  • actually this would be hawaiian not tahitian.

  • nope, this is tahitian. it's all in tahitian words, this is called an ahupuroto; my hula sis is dancing in thiss((:

  • hawaiian dancing is totally different.. also if you listen to the song its sung in tahitian aswell.

  • This chills me out to no end. Simply amazing

  • if you knew anything about hawaii hula or tahitian you would know that their costumes are traditional and cultural. just because ur not cultured doesn't mean you can go judging them.

  • These ladies are BEAUTIFUL! They dance so GRACEFULLY and FLUIDLY. I wish I could dance like that! *SIGH* :P

  • I was there! (Well @ one of the shows)

Thats where one of my vids is from

    I love this song
