I've loved this song since a first heard a "ramblin'" friend of mine sing it. Then later I heard Paxton and Seeger do it. My ramblin' pal is gone, but I still love this song and think of him everytime I hear it. Thanks Tom for writing it. You bring back many happy memories.

Dad played this on the stereo when I was ten and I was caught by the tune & the sad story, tho could never figure out what 'blin-bring' meant. Watched it yesterday with dad (83) and sister (51) and we all sang our hearts out.

But why is Seeger so much more enthusiastic and friendly towards Paxton than Judy Collins? Is it because both are songwriters and he obviously embraces Tom's songs?
