The US acted as an ally and defended the country. It was never the aim to turn the north democratic but to keep the South democratic. Also, Rambo is not set during Vietnam, it is set after Vietnam. Also, the US lost 58,126 personel. Not 70,000.

im not a pacifist, but i don't go for the glory of war either. as in i don't want glory. i don't like pacifism because it says that war is unnecessary. well, guess what: not everybody is EVER going to think that. and that is the very reason pacifism doesn't work. and no, no one does like war. but it's a "necessary evil" to fight against those who actually start it. that's what Iraq is all about.

The war in Iraq is illegal by international laws and treaties. The UN laws say that a war can only start in 2 currcumstances:
1: The attacking country is defending itself
2: The UN security counsel gives approval.
The US did not meet these requirements, and therefore, the current US government are War Criminals by international laws.

Mate - I will list every major engagement the US was involved in during Vietnam. Tet Offensive (victory), Khe Sahn (Victory), Battle of Ia Drang (victory), Quan tri 68-72 (victory), Battle of Hue (victory), Operation linebacker (victory).... the south only fell 3 years after the US left

I cannot beleive how ignorant you are. The US government was asked by the Democratic Republic of South Vietnam to defend them from the North Vietnamese who were trying to impose communism upon them. The US acted as an ally and defended the country. It was never the aim to turn the north democratic but to keep the South democratic. Also, Rambo is not set during Vietnam, it is set after Vietnam. Also, the US lost 58,126 personel. Not 70,000.

oh sorry, but im afraid to tell you that I am the holder of a masters degree in history, i majored 90% of my electives on the indo-chinese wars 1950-1976. All my facts are backed up by thousands of text books, no they arnt all american... im not an american... and buddy, i have pepsi, coke, all of that crap

Incorrect, the South Vietnamese were just as motivated as the North. The problem was, after the US left, the North had the backing of China and the USSR while the South stood alone. Indeed its quite amazing they lasted 3 years. Just shows how determined they were. The true criminals were the NVA for slaughtering hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese after the Americans left. The crime... wanting their own country free of communism.
