I have read and heard that the Navajo are very stewards of Monument Valley and there are certain areas that tourists are not allowed. Although I would still like to see all of the area, I truly understand why they would like to protect the land. Peace to my Native American Friends!!
Feels good for Native American's to finally get some recognition for the spirituality they bring to everyday life. It's sad, because at least for me I am the only Native American any of my acquaintances know, and I am merely a small 12% Cherokee.

It goes back and forth. Her book "American Indian Story - The Adventures of Sha'kona" expand on the story begun in the album...pretty cool!! Obviously, I'm a fan! lol!
I'm just curious..when these tribes did these dances way back when..were the women so scantilly clad, and danced like they were on a rock music video? I'm sorry.I have such deep reverence of the Native American way of life..the way it was..when I see too much of the MTV culture creeping in, it saddens me. But..I guess we work with what we have, or take what we have and keep the message alive like that...kind of like the authentic is wrapped in something not totally authentic, whatever it takes.

@SHAGGYGA....Actually very little of this was filmed in the Sedona area....Most was filmed in Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation... If you watch the "making of The Enlightened Time" you will hear Jana talking about getting permission to film in one area......The only part done near Sedona was the part in the creek... And yes that is Jana playing the flute, and she does so quite well, as for who made the flute, you would have to ask Jana...

Well made video, I like the lighting, in some parts of the video the lighting is awesome, and the girl is hot and has talent.
This type of music is new to me, but I like it, it has a soothing sound to it.
Incredibly powerful video! It is good to see traditions and beauty from the old ways united with the current change of time to reflect a new version of music that combines all of the then and now. Stunningly done...;) This is what being an artist is, a unique signature ever evolving to reflect the mood and vibrations of our spiritual journey into awareness. Some will not like the pop flavor of tradition but I feel the upgrade is necessary to keep indigenous music evolving.

She is AMAZING! I joined her fan club. We just got the New Moon Born album. I like this traditional music better but I am sure she has to change it up to go mainstream. I hope she makes it BIG! The economy is not helping, but better days are coming.

I love this! this young lady is Blessed in so may ways! being able to sing in may languages as im of Cherokee and Choctaw decent! i don't speak the languaged but want too someday!

@SHAGGYGA....Actually very little of this was filmed in the Sedona area....Most was filmed in Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation... If you watch the "making of The Enlightened Time" you will hear Jana talking about getting permission to film in one area......The only part done near Sedona was the part in the creek... And yes that is Jana playing the flute, and she does so quite well, as for who made the flute, you would have to ask Jana...

Well made video, I like the lighting, in some parts of the video the lighting is awesome, and the girl is hot and has talent.
This type of music is new to me, but I like it, it has a soothing sound to it.
Overall I like the style of the video, well done.

Incredibly powerful video! It is good to see traditions and beauty from the old ways united with the current change of time to reflect a new version of music that combines all of the then and now. Stunningly done...;) This is what being an artist is, a unique signature ever evolving to reflect the mood and vibrations of our spiritual journey into awareness. Some will not like the pop flavor of tradition but I feel the upgrade is necessary to keep indigenous music evolving.
